fantastic! you're so cute and your sweaters are to. Got a giggle out to the '80's ones! Funny to find out that '80's fashion fiasco wasn't just an American thing! ha ha ha
Don't think I will get around to making a video as I don't knit anymore but it is very simple. Just draw your picture onto a piece of graph paper, making sure the number of squares across and down matches the number of stitches and rows. Each square becomes one stitch. At the back simply tie the two coloured wools together, or if you are changing colour back and forth you simply twist them around each other. The inside of the jumper is very messy, you have to thread in all the loose ends.
I like humpty dumpty. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put humpty together again but you could with your awesome knitting! Giving any lessons? :)))
Ummm, I think Mum might be doing a video re lessons, she has done a few already that might be worth checking out, but not a specific lesson in Picture Knitting. I have forgotten how to do necklines and sleeves and all that stuff but if I ever do pick up the needles again, I will show how I do the Pictures, easy as pie, really, just a little more time consuming. Thanks for your comment.
wow, i was mesmerized the whole video!! those are most impressive! the peacock and tiger are my favorites, altho' i do have a special place in my heart for the southpark one as well. the dog, omg, how intricate. i can think of no other word than amazing!
Ha Ha, I thought maybe I talked too much. Never even got to see the girl I made the Tiger jumper for wear it. It was for my boyfriends (peacock) daughter and we broke up before I even finished it but I still gave it to him to give to her. His son got the Scream jumper.
You know I have been seriously thinking about it, babies still wear knitted jumpers don't they?
I've already got ideas for the first four, Angel, Powerpuff Girl, Caitlin, My Little Pony, Bryce, something from the Movie 'Cars' and Chloe, Elmo. I can't wait to do Elmo, he's so cute. Did you know he was voiced by a 6 foot tall 40 year old negro man. So Cool!
Great work! Love your accent. :) I graduated high school in 1985, so I remember the 80s well. I miss those wild styles.
Cheers from California, USA.

Hey Trace,
Can we see what's under the jumper please?
Cheers in advance..

Who are you? I'm an old woman, there is nothing interesting to see under the jumper, believe me.

You're not old, you're in the prime of your life !

I see a ferret! Heehee.
I can't knit at all, so these are really quite fascinating. Also... Jumper is such a cute word.
SeraphChild 4 years ago
What....? Where's the ferret?
Yeh I guess you guys call them sweaters which makes a lot more sense, or even warmers, but jumpers??? They don't make me jump!
TubularBelle 4 years ago
Indeed, I have never yet seen a sweater jump.
Also, i am very very drunk, and you have no idea how long it took to write this. I'm sure there are horrificie gramictail and spelling errors.
Hahah. Karioki night!

You and your mom are very talented. The 80's were strange.

Not as strange as the 70's

OMG! They crucified Kenny! - The bastards!
I actually liked the palm tree, but the monkey was hard to see in the vid.
Mom's Geisha was fantastic - The Opera House, too.

Yes the monkey was hard to see any time.
Glad you liked the show.

I haven't seen a half of those, didn't realise you did so many. They're really good and some would still look good today.
I agree, mum's dog jumper is brilliant.

She really should get that jumper framed.
