Standing too close to the car door, turned your back on the car when walking away, and your partner dosn't know how to use a radio. you got the basics but this is far from a good traffic stop.
I am an exploer myself but I see both explorers being very complacent 1st thing did was they turned there backs on a traffic stop. They did not look in the windows very well before approaching the driver and third the exploers partner in the video the one with blue shirt got yelled at because of not using the radio right which is a good thing to get onto some one about however in high risk high stress situations you have to keep your calm and not freak out and keep your composure at all times.
i was an explorer for two departments over 7 years..it really helps. I just got hired as an auxiliary deputy and a foot in the door for a possible full time position. I was able to talk about how i was used to working in the public and knew how to present myself so i would not not embarrass the departmnet. I go to firearms training soon and get to take my first oath. Stay in the explorers people, the hard work pays off and looks great in interviews.
I am an explorer now and this the only CORRECT video. Stance, touching car, the way they talk (politely),he was protecting him self when she stepped out of car. Great job Explorers.
i am an Lt. in NY nassau county explorers and i agree with everyone else when i say the explorer in the white was in no way a team player, i hope that he doesnt have rank
dude the kid in white is an ass. He treats a fellow explorer like dung, he should have to do push ups. Here we drop down if we treat anyone there like a dick
im a cadet for the rapid city police department and i would have to say that i agree LAPD416 that was terrible planning. and you are on the same team if your team mate doesnt know how to run a "27" then help him out dont yell at him for not knowing. bad team work.
usually one officer stays with the driver and one does the radio stuff.....but of course in this case its tranning you both have to do it....im also a explorer
@TheLineman73 ones with police (local) other with sheriff (county) lol county normally has more things they are able to do, depending on the city size
i'm just wondering, because this is what our advisers taught us this...at the beginning when u checked to make sure the trunk was closed arn't u supposed to check with your not shooting hand (so if your right handed, u should use your left hand)????
very bad mistakes dont ever ever get back into your squad car in the middle of a traffic stop your car is a sitting coffin what happens if it would of been real life and not a training and the suspects in the car come out shooting your a sitting duck if your inside your car!!!
Good explorers but remember police officers are a team. when someone doesnt know how to do something his partner is suppose to be there to help. Without the bullshit. "Don't tell me that you don't know how to run a 10-27."

I was an explorer for 4 years in Minnesota, this is probably one of the worst traffic stops I have ever scene. You don't tell people "Its ok, we all have done this." Referring to the lady jumping out of the vehicle and approaching his vehicle. They are not proficient on the radio at all. The kid in the driver seat acts like he knows what he is doing, then gets the radio and messes everything up... YOU WORK AS A TEAM, US THE PHONETIC ALPHABET TOO
I am the Capt. over the BCSO post 700 and i have to agree with a majority of these comments. The primary officer needs more more training in leadership to start. It was a terrible stop. at many points during the stop both oficers could have been killed.
Everyone gets nervous in the beginning, especially when you know you're being videotaped. You'll eventually get better. Just take your time and dont rush into things. Work on your officer safety and communication with each other. Your main focus is on the driver, so get all her information first.
i am an explorer too i am the Lt at post 1906 and one of the best things i do is traffic stops and that was a very very bad traffic stop. on a traffic stop take all the time you need you rushed and when you do that every thing goes out the window like officer safety, and i don't know how you guys do it be when some one gets out of the car we don't get out of our car, we get on our microphone and tell them that way b/c you don't know if that person had a gun. you only need to touch the back 1*
neither one of them know how to do it properly but the main thing in any traffic stop is officer safety and both of u had your bodies to exposed while at the car
their is no teamwork here. not from the white boys part. what a total ass, not only that but a big head, i feel sorry for any future officers in the academy with him, or any future partner working with him. i feel sorry for anyone who gets stuck working with this white boy
37-81 to PD: can I get a 27-29 on Paul 142-4369-172. Teamwork? my ass, i feel sorry for the guy that gets his butt chewed out by the white kid who sucked too! Man good luck in law enforcement.
I hope this is the first day of training, if not, god help you on the street. There is no sense of comradery and teamwork. White shirt wants to be smartass and not explain to blue shirt how the hell to run a 10-27. White shirt failed to fully stand behind the bar seperating the driver from the passenger seats, slammed his door shut on both approaches, and failed to look back at the suspect car on the way back to his patrol car (possible firearm attack). Keep training
Guy in the white shirt is a total ass hole, it not that easy to do that, also the kid in the blue shirt was a little to comfortable up there against the car with his hand on the roof
You can say that but however when i was a police explorer i recieved training from police officers and rankis above and explorers. One Police Sgt pushed me allot and wasnt always a nice guy with Me. At first I didnt understand it after a few months I did. He helped train me pretty good. Im still alive. 5 yrs of going on patrol with them and still do and im a private officer now. I thank god everyday for the training I got from them. So maybe he was a little touch with him, but he will learn it.
I think the explorer in the white t shirt needs to learb what comradery is and how to help the other one...it amazes me how disrespectful he was to the other explorer. Sounds like he needs to do less traffic stop trng and do more training about what respect means, and how to talk on a radio. He is CLUELESS as to what he has in store for him when (or IF) he evers becomes a real police officer... time to GROW UP!
i been an officer 23 years and i had never seen such of a non effort trafic stop. they did not even do a background on the occupant nor did they ARREST DAT MUTHA FUCKA FOR CARRING METHH SHIITT I WOULD BEEN CRAWLING UP DAT BITCHES TWAT SICKLEEE -ATOWN
kinda funny how the explorer in the white shirt got mad at the one in the blue shirt when they were doing background on the driver. especially since the one in the white couldnt even to it properly himself.
you guys are nnot very smart.. why are you in such a hurry to get to that car..you didnt press your fingers on the tail light or identify your self neiher one of you guys were checking to see what could be coming up behind you..AND YOU BOTH TURNED YOUR BACKS WHEN YOU WALKED AWAY HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE..IM SORRY NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN BUT I DONT WANT TO SEE AN EXPLORER GET HURT BECAUSE OF THEIR STIPIDITY ON A STOP
leaves the fingerprints on the vehicle so if anything were to happen to the officer they can pull the prints off the vehicle and determine that was the actual car in the incident
i am in no way trying to sound rude, but when you get out of the patrol car dont slam the door, when you are at the back of the vehicle press all of your fingers against the tailight, and like swaylowkey said, identify yourself, ask for an id and proof of financial responsibility, and when you were walking back, you both turned your back to them. Im an explorer in Texas
