What happened to this guy? Very cool video.I am sad to hear he is gone.He was a very good guitarist and you could see that he loved it.I am a guitarist also and my biggest fear of death is that I will never be able to play my guitars again.Life can be so short for some.He was very good. What a loss.
i liike this guys vibe, his playing!!!! seems like a true natural! man i read the bottom comments and it saidhe deceased, damm that just made me sad! rip !!!!!!
Wow, a great one, thanks. Sean could play this kind of jump blues in his sleep. Incidentally, "The Hucklebuck" was actually a remake of the Charlie Parker's "Now's The Time."
I fell in love with this guy the first time I went to see him at a local bar in Roswell Ga. He was 16 (or close to it) and I was so amazed. I don't follow many musicians, but this one I went to see every time I had the chance. I have watched many bands, all different types of music...he was by far my favorite...hurts so much that he is gone...but he does live on in his music....thank you for posting
well, it just doesn't get any better than this. I just can't believe how good this man was. Such talent. And it was largely ignored. Why do "we" listen to CRAP when we have so much real talent out there? it's insane
I've been watching Junior Watson do this same piece thinking that Junior was "it". Junior is good but I keep coming back to Sean, Wow what a monster. So sad that we don't have this talent any longer.
And I will reply to my own comment. Watch Sean. He feels every note through his body. He lives every note every rift, he feels it all. Watch him, watch his face. That is what makes a talent like this. It isn't learning the notes it is feeling them. if I were deaf and was watching sean I think I would understand what he was feeling
So sad to see Sean go, but he has the coolest guitar faces since Stevie. You can just tell was so into his playing. It's rare, and beautiful thing to have this much fun coming out of your playing.
An all too quick ending to a young torchbearer of the Blues. I had an opportunity to chat w/Sean after his performance at a festival. I was struck how modest and humbly he accepted my compliments. He will be sorely missed.
This is a good one, modeled a little more closely on Earl Hooker's cut, but I think Junior's studio effort w/ Canned Heat takes top honors as it singlehandedly defines the essence of west coast phrasing, tone and feel - for me at least.
Useful insight, thanks. Search 'Hucklebuck' on YouTube and you can also hear a version by Junior Watson from around 1990. Interesting to compare the differences between Sean and Junior's versions!
'Hucklebuck' seems to have started out as a popular tenor sax instrumental back in the late 1940s, before evolving into a song, that has been covered by many famous performers, including Chubby Checker.
Great version Sean does here! I heard Junior Watson do Hucklebuck live, and I can tell'ya that it was a killer version too! He also did it with the Canned Heat on the Reheated album i think.
anybody got a backing track like that?

Amazing fluidity and jazzy swing feel - Stevie Ray or Clapton could never come close to doing anything like this.

Yes, so much CRAP, and so few diamonds.
I finally bought his memorial "Blues" album, and I can't stop listening to it!

This was one of those magic moments of music. I've never heard "Hucklebuck" sound so alive. Sean was truly connected to the song.
