I have this game as well. I do see some of the faults in this game (especially when it comes to their appearence). Simon in this game sounds a lot more like an evil character from an anime. Though, unlike Tatsunoko VS. Capcom, this is worth coming back to. Though, it also feels a lot like Soul Calibur.

Yes, this is a disappointment. He looks nothing like a man, neither a vampire hunter. He looks like an emo-animie-boy - a cool emo boy, but it's not Simon Belmont. Nothing wrong with the outfit either but it's inappropriate/inept for this timeline and type of game.

Also, I am not a fan of the animie style that has taken over video games in general but this series in particular. It's a little too much and too cheesy...and a little too DBZ for my taste. It feels very childish.

Damn it the chronology for Castlevania is so messed up. So, despite being the protagonist of the original 2 games, Simon is actually a DESCENDANT of Trevor Belmont (from Castlevania 3), which means Alucard predates him as well, which also means that Richter does? Or does Simon fall somewhere between Trevor and Richter (a 300 year difference)? The well-done explanation jsutifying characters from throughout the chronology just shows how confusing the chronology is!

@Pyre um no, you're wrong. Alucard is a vampire so he has eternal life so he basically stayed alive while the Belmont family continued. 300 years after the events of castlevania 3 Alucard returned to continue Richter's job after he defeated Dracula.

They messed up the entire Chronology...what the hell is Maria doing fighting Simon Belmont? For that Simon would have to be SOOOOOO old. First was Simon Belmont right? Then in Simons Quest...well you have Simon again resurrecting and killink Dracula for good...then in Castlevania 3 we Have Trevor Belmont...wich when Maria tells Alucard about Richter Belmont Alucarn can but recall Trevor.
