  • Very cool.

This is better than 95% of what's on TV nowadays.

    Heck, maybe even 96%!

Have you been to Kelso Dunes yet?

    I highly recommend it.

  • @notrombones - Thanks notrombones! As you can see, not too many people even know about us, but if you could show this video or one of our others to friends who are interested in the great outdoors or the desert, that would be great. As for Kelso Dunes, I have something planned for next year. In the meantime, I'm working on the next video, which will be about the Inyo Mountains and Beveridge City.

  • Drink LOTS of water and you won't fell the effects of the altitude so much.

  • That knife is a Western W-49.

  • AWESOME VIDEO

  • Did you leave a vagina rock at the top in honor of your friend? Is that the upgraded version of Google maps or just the basic version? I like your questioning of the existence of Jesus. He may never have existed and definitely wasn't magical. Irrational thinking is very dangerous. Dig your vids.

  • It's the basic version of Google Earth. no vagina rock, I don't think my brain was capable of coming with cool ideas what with the lack of oxygen. Maybe I'll plan for it next time.

  • Good trip vid. Did you get to see the water pipe that fed Skidoo Mill 26 miles away?

  • I didn't get to, Mobil. Maybe I'll check that out one of these days. When is the next festivities in Death Valley? I wish we could have made it to the Fall Haul. I've never been there.

  • Oh dang! That's too bad man. I want to hike up there some time.

The next trip I will be doing with my friends is Christmas In Ballarat. We camp out in Ballarat over Christmas and do some of the trails out there in Panamint Valley. I think this time we will be doing Butte Valley.

  • @mobiltec Hey, whats the weather like around ballarat this time of year? How high is the snowline, generally speaking?

  • @pirahna432 Every year it's different. The snow can be all the way down on the ground at Ballarat to up around the high peaks only. Roll of the dice really.

  • @mobiltec Cool. I'm just trying to figure out what kind of gear to pack, and theres really no better way than to hear it from somebody who knows! I'm planning a backpacking trip to the ballarat/surprise canyon area in a few weeks. I just don't want to pack for an arctic expedition if I don't have to...

  • @pirahna432 It's been pretty dang cold out there lately from what I understand. You should give Panamint Springs Resort a call a day before you leave to see what the weather there has been like. You can look them up by googleing their name. You will enjoy yourself for sure but I bet it's gonna be cold and windy. Then again, by the time you leave there could be a sudden warm snap.
