Triple Triad was sooooooooooo much better...I mean...FF9 is my personal favorite in the series, but that card mini game...easily overcomplicated to be catching.
Whenever I think of 'the city that never sleeps' I think of current times listening to pop, dance, and rap music in the clubs. For this song it sounds more like it should be named 'the grand parlor'
@Made4542 I agree, though I would have liked to see more of Deling City in the daytime (I think there was a scene in Deling with Laguna that happens during the day).
This was the diegetic song playing when me and my fellow 1% were out and about, wearing our top hats, monocles, mink coats and walking sticks, while laughing at all the poor people we came across
Goodness gracious ! I was reading creepypasta and hearing this music and then ... I just started hear some noise in my headphones like people talking to me but , i was alone and no one are talking with me that night, i was realy freaked ... o__o so strange . . .
@77Chester77 this song has been in infinity loop in my head for days recently. most of the original FF songs have a tendency to get in there and not leave once the enter.
This song reminds me of the old talkies, when they had to hire a pianist to play in the theatre (and, now that I mention it, a little bit of the movie scene in FF8 with Laguna).
You give delicious food!? Eiko:Oh, hey Quina... Four armed man:(He must've hired him to protect her...) Quina:YOU GIVE DELICIOUS FOOD? Four armed man: I'm leaving!!! Quina: YOU GIVE DELICIOUS FOOD!?!? *Droped chimera armlet* Eiko: SOOO weird......... :D
Hell no. I love TETRA MASTER I would sometimes spend a whole saturday playing it. Once in a save game i had 100,035 games won. Yup. I had all cards including the ones from the jumping rope game. I also loved FF8's card game.
I spent so much money there at the damn auction house...But I had fun. That card game wasn't for me though. I so failed at it. I almost lost to the oglop card deck...
when i listen to this, i feel like i've gone back in time, walked into an old fashioned bar, and with music playing, nothing but liveliness all around me in the night
It surprises me that so many people have never heard of Scott Joplin or ragtime music. It was no doubt the inspiration behind this song. Most people have heard "The Entertainer" written by Scott Joplin around the 1900's.
@iracundo23 Yeah no kidding. I'm pretty sure Joplin's work was what inspired this piece, as you said. Whoever hasn't heard ragtime before is in the dark when it comes to music.

@D4mnYouSir I've never lost to it ( or any of them due to constant leveling up ), maybe you should get a life... In retrospect maybe I should review that comment :)
@Mashureilly1 When I play this game it just doesn´t feel important to lvl up compared to just trying to get to the next town to hear it´s town theme :)
This brings back memories of the auction house. I'd bid a high amount of gil to quicken up the auctioning because it was so darn slow and I was only interested in the last item or so... only to be smacked back in the face when everyone clammed up after I gave my price.
My personal favorite part of Treno is the ATE where Dagger is talking to that completely senile guy -- I created a separate save just to watch that again and again and again...
@scypion11 That card game wasted so much of my time. That and the sword fight in the beginning of the game. And the jump rope game. And... just all the mini-games in this game. I think I spent more time on mini-games than I did playing through the actual game now that I think on it. Huh.
@sadedelbosque You would be referencing The Sting (1973) most obviously - the themesong of which is Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer" which is a Ragtime piece written for piano. You would be almost 100% correct about this piece, this is most definitely a Rag. This piece has the heavy left wrist that Rags are notorious for, but it lacks the Ragtime bounce that I love to give all my performances. All the same, this is an excellent piece - one of Nobuo Uematsu's best!
@CopaPianist You would be referencing The Sting (1973) most obviously - the themesong of which is Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer" which is a Ragtime piece written for piano. @NeoSephirothOmega Heh, thanks! I've been playing Ragtime for many years so you could say it's my specialty. As all of the music in The Sting (with a select few exceptions which were entirely background) is Ragtime by Scott Joplin, I have to be a fan, not to mention it's one of the greatest movies ever!
Anyhow, the Treno theme is the only FF piece by Nobuo Uematsu that actually has a Rag played on Piano. I'm also a fan of his FF8 Eyes on Me for Piano, it's a bit tricky to play but still great!
