  • Thanks Leyla. This video was very helpful. Can you share any advice on good resources to pick up casual french like this? I just moved to Paris and I'm kinda struggling with colloquial French. I'm trying my best to listen to podcasts and rap songs but I'm progressing very slowly.

  • Thanks REALLY helpful! Especially cuz im going to visit France soon

  • thanks for taking your time to do all this! :)

  • I'm definitely gonna need the please speak slowly one. It seems like the French talk super fast.

  • @MrAgentFunk

Just the impression we have when we learn a new language

However, there are some people that do speak extremely fast

  • OMG I absolutely LOVE your vids. I wish that I could speak French that well. But, alas when I hear your vid... try as I may... I don't think I'll ever sound as good as you do. Thanks so much for posting. :0)

  • Thanks for the tips Layla . merci

  • This was really good, thanks. :)

  • Leyla, your lessons are the best!

Hope you're doing fine... have a great everything!

    :-D

  • in french, how do you add the "-ness" to the ends of words like stupidness or dumbness and so on?

  • @PiccoloCavolo

    it's usually "-ité" or "-itude"

  • @PiccoloCavolo

Well "lentement" just means "slowly" but "doucement" has different meanings depending on the context in which it is used. For example, "doucement" can mean "take it easy". "Parlez plus doucement" can mean "parlez moins fort"/speak softer or "more slowly", it just depends.

At any rate, it has more meanings than "lentement"

  • @PiccoloCavolo

    well "stupidité"

  • Super ! Merci bien ! :-)

  • merci!!, est ce qu'on peut aussi dire "doucement" en lieu de "lentement"?

ex: vous pourriez parler plus doucement?

  • @geryo88 Yes you can; Oui tu peux

  • @geryo88

"parler doucement" is more "to speak low" (meaning with a low voice vs a loud voice)

  • merci <3

  • 1st comment yeah!

  • @TIPXL
