I totally disagree with a federal voucher program. Local taxes pay for schools as well as state aid. Get the vouchers from those sources. I don't want to pay for lazy deadbeats in other states...I have enough of them here in NJ.

Don't these kids know they're taking dollars away from unionized public school teachers? Who, coincidentally, tend to vote Democrat. And since public school inmates who don't have the skills to get a job end up voting Democrat also, letting impoverished kids escape to effective private schools is a double whammy to the Dems. Best these kids learn their place.

Education or indoctrination. You learn more on the job than school. You also are compensated on the job and not at school so one could argue school children are slaves design to keep teachers principals and bureaucrats not only employed but in power.

All children should have the right to a great education regardless of the color of their skin, even white. These children have a legitimate request. Surely out of the 9,000+ earmarks, some money can be found and put toward this instead.
