  • I fucking love Beck but that fucking retarded whammy bar - if there were ever a guitar player that DIDN'T need one, it's Beck.

  • Check out the video for AMBITIOUS, Beck is one of a kind!!!

  • Jeff Beck is one of the VERY BEST!!

  • 1983 was really a weird year. What a strange lineup this was.I really don't think that guy "singing" with the tamborine was even necessary.

  • Who are the other musicians here?

  • Our New National Anthem...!

    Goin Down..!

  • hammer good,beck good, this video-bogus!

observe this lack of soul rusty elbowed tight wristed stiff docile flat coked out group of men who just walked out of a JC Penny Catalogue to waste your time for six minutes, then watch a better version of Jeff Beck playing this, there are plenty of them

best time i saw him was with stevie ray '87,two respectful players giving it their all with terry bozio on drums to boot

  • Drummer Simon Phillips is the man!!

  • The KING OF GUITAR!!!! Jeff Beck does things with his guitar that can't be copied. Saw Jeff recently and was in awe, he is incredible.

  • Pure Rock Power!

  • Oh shucks, when JB's hottest licks happen the film is of the keyboards, singer, or drummer. Bad edit job.

  • Holy Shit!! I guess the New York audience was too stoned to sing!!!

  • And Jeff's Comment on Eddie was "Slick, Very Smooth"

  • Jan Hammer - best sideman ever.

  • Not many can play in the same room with Jeff Beck.

  • Jeff Beck is the master!!!! Just saw him @ Foxwoods a few months ago, he is just incredible. I see some think he's to technical, he's just that good. Jeff isn't into sloppy guitar work.

  • Jeff is IMHO the most outstanding guitar player EVER... i just find it unbelievable every time i hear him play... Yer right: Phillips is on drums, hopkings on piano and fairweather low singing (he's by the way one of the finest rhythm guitarists too)

  • It's not Kenny Jones on drums, it's Simon Phillips

  • You can convert this or any youtube video to an mp3 at soundnabber..com

  • It's Nicky Hopkins on piano

    Kenny Jones plays drums

  • People need to realize that Beck makes his playing look easy!!!!

  • I saw Jeff in concert back in June. This man can do things with a guitar that others just cant do. His use of the tremelo bar is unlike anyone else. Some people will use it a little he'll hold onto the thing the whole song and still be hitting insane notes, messing with the volume and tone settings on his guitar all at the same time. The man is a multitasker like no other. Clapton even says he couldnt imagine doing the things Jeff does with his right hand.

  • @winstonlegthigh66 see-Adrian Belew "Twang Bar King" enjoy

  • I know jeff beck is the shit

but he is too technically sound for my liking, a bit clinical

  • @Aaronjrh I agree. I think the video of him and Vaughan show the way it should sound, and thats the way Vaughan plays it...gritty and dirty! Jeff Beck is good, but I can think of many better like Jimmy Paige, SRV, and others. I know this will catch shit , but I think Beck is way overrated. He plays guitar great, but doesn't have his own unique sound like the 2 above. When you hear them play you hear their heart and soul. Beck sounds like a sessions guitarist, too crisp, clean, proper. Clinical.

  • needs cowbell :D

  • Saw this tour oh! my!

  • The original cut and Band Lineup, take the song somewhere else; SAW THEM LIVE IN N.Y. and Nothin compared...........period...

  • Drivingcreativity....

  • Just got back from the Foxwoods show. Jeff Beck gets better and better with age!!! His performance was incredible, Beck is the greatest guitarist around!!!!

  • get over it this is seminal moment in rock and roll excellant dudes none better than this entre to blown out.

  • It's Simon Phillips on the drums ...not Kenney Jones

  • It's Simon Phillips on drums.......not Kenney Jones

  • I seen him play this in a bar in Massachusetts in~1974. I still get goosebumps.

This is a Freddie King original. Check out Freddie Kings videos also.

  • Yes, I have to hand it to the man... he kicks ass.

  • Chris Stainton on piano

  • @cozinaz Jan Hammer of Miami Vice theme fame on keyboards.

  • @2253glen True, but more respected for: "Jan Hammer Group" suggest: Live with Jeff Beck Group"

  • Beck is the greatest guitar player alive.Page, Clapton, etc can all take a backseat to the great one.

  • @chihawks2010 Find the vid of roy clark and eric clapton from SNL. They were doing "dueling guitars".. eric finally threw up his hands in surrender, mr clark is a virtuoso string player. he can play violin along w/ any of the classical greats.. In my book Hendrix is God, however I will never forget the lesson roy gave eric! most of us wouldn't think about country musicians and virtuosity... jeff beck is the guitarist's guitarist.

PEACE !! an old hippie (hack) drummer seattle

  • great performance of this song. But one of my favourite covers of this Don Nix classic comes from a quite unknown band called Freedom (it appears in their last album in 1972)

  • i thought that was andy fairweather too

  • Unusual to see Woody play a Tele. He is more associated with the Strat and various Zemaitis models.

  • Was at this tour Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1983 still have program from show didn't go home for two days ex-girlfriend was mad at me i wonder why!!!!!!!!!!! Oh! My!

  • that's andy fairweather-low singing ... and the piano player plays with clapton too

  • Vids high quality but my audio doesnt synch right. Whatever, Becks the man!

  • When Eddie Van Halen saw Beck in concert he was just shaking his head in disbelief.

  • @cinema33 EDDIE COULDN'T HOLD JEFF'S GUITAR PICK WHAT A BURN

  • @rogcuadra I agree about the EVH pick thing and I love V H But Jeff B doesnt use a pick anymore I saw hin with the Tarbirds and back then he did He is in a League of his own for sure eddy is great but there is only 1 Jeff Beck

  • @cinema33 I wouldn't doubt it. Jeff Beck really underwent a transformation over the years, definitely the most talented guitarist to come out of the Yardbirds, and that's hard for me to say because I love Zeppelin, but Jimmy can't play too well these days.

  • @cinema33 Now if EVH learned from Becks work ethic we might hear some new music from VH!!!

  • @redhead5150 Hopefully we won't.

  • Jeff Beck is in a league of his own. That drummer is good too.

  • Jeff makes it look so easy! My all-time favorite guitarist!!!!!!!

  • @sd006 Simon Philips is incredible! You should check out some of his videos here.

  • @sd006 The drummer is Simon Phillips. Supewrbly talented. Plays for Toto now

  • all the bitches that comp[lain bout this vibralto and fuge and the other asshole complaints behold rock and roll at one of its finest moments, duhhhh

  • luv that gated snare reverb - spx100 anyone?

  • you sir, are adorable.

  • one thing missing in this band is the vocal, bob tench still the best vocal for this song. check out jeff beck group orange album

  • Jeff Beck...My own personal all time favorite Guitar God. Hell yah !!!!

  • davethemanwithabsolutelynobrain

Is that Andy Fairweather-Low singing anyone?

  • It sure is.

One of the greats. Funny that he is now playing second guitar to Clapton!

  • Is that a fact ?! Come on, it can't be ! Not that there's anything wrong with Clapton, I love Clapton...but Beck shouldn't play second guitar to ANYONE !

  • well Stevie is dead...been dead a while, so that would be a little gross anyways...don't you think?

  • Why even go there dude. Jeff Beck predates Stevie Ray. I love Stevie's music; but try and not diss the originators okay....

  • If Srv were alive he would say "I ain't no Jeff Beck"

  • @abrahamlincoln0900 " I know abraham lincoln,sir, you're no abraham lincoln! Pwned have respect

  • That's Andy Fairweather-Low sharing the vocal duties with Jeff. Ironically the second guitar in Eric Clapton's band!

  • in what key is this song?

  • He does this song in two keys primarily: D and G. This is in the key of D here. Basically a I, IV, V progression. Simple tune by Freddy King. You should see him play it. Freddy's version is very good too.

  • Jeff Beck no appologies mate this is the way I play my fn guitar if you like it fine if you don't piss off.Top 5 of all time PERIOD.

  • It's great to see a live version of this song. I do prefer the studio version more. Beck is known as a studio artist. He's in a class by himself, " Blow by Blow is all studio....and Jeff did all the instruments on it....masterpiece.

  • This is such a great live version, if only the there was better sync with sound!

I know there is some whiz out there it who can fix this up! Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

  • WOW! Clint Howard on the guitorgan!

  • that's exactly what I thought

  • Now I know why that duo LP with J.H/ Jerry Goodman hasn't got many miles: it may have taken 25 or so years for me to understand the bitch.

  • Picks? We don't need no steeenking picks !:P!:P Saw JB about 3 years before this, front row, right in front of him. The man OWNS the guitar. He did more with his instrument, in so many different ways, that he held your attention throughout the show. It truly was a master-class experience. Peace:)

  • he also doesn't need 50 guitars behind him to get his sound....

  • Could not agree more. I admire him for his total control even when he seems to be out of control. I saw him warm up Santana in '95. Now he has Tal Wilkenfeld playing bass and She complments his style so well ...check her out...young beautiful and talented

  • your kidding right Stevie knows more about everything to do with music. Watch Vaughn and Beck play this Beck cant even comp stevies solo. Im not saying Becks bad Im just saying Stevies better

  • If you knew guitar you'd know what Beck does is much harder than what SRV did. I'm a fan of both, but Beck was/is the more technically gifted and creative guitarist.

  • GOD!!!!!

  • dude i was at this concert. I scalped the tickets outside the garden. I was 23 years old in 1983. I can barely rember this concert except for this and pages stairway to heaven, oh i almost got kicked out cause i was hecling lou reed who was in the audiance. Now im 50 and beck is 65 years old god bless him

  • I like it how JB just give Ronnie Wood the lead I bet beck was thinking yeah I know I'm good but I'll let you get the lead for once and Jeff Beck doesn't care he's just having fun

  • Ranking has a lot to do with what you were doing adn who you were doing it with when you first heard it. University of GA, 1982, and this song was the freakin' bomb! What a great party/drinking/smoking song! So it ranks right up there with me, and so does Beck. He's like Iggy Pop without the heroin. And a better guitar player :)

  • This is THE jam song.

  • jeff becks vocals sound great here.

His playing is amazing too but thts a given.

  • Jeff has some fine moves on his guitar!!!!

  • WALL STREET ! GREED IS GOOD !

  • is there a better albumn? Jeff Beck Truth.

  • How can you go wrong with Simon Phillips on the skins!

  • awesome! but i prefer the version with stevie

  • OJ IS HIDING IN THE BACKGROUND

  • Damn, Jeff sounds as good through those MusicMan amps as he does through Marshalls. Can you dig the leather britches ?

  • :____

  • On my guitarist list Jekk just jumped from 8 to 3 behind SRV and Hendrix

  • Stop trying to rate guitarists! If you're one of these YT idiots who likes to categorize and rank guitarists as if it's a competition then you just don't have a clue to begin with! Jeff is great because he JUST IS!!! I'm not trying to flame you Goshu2120, but again, STOP with ridiculous rankings. Music is art and NOT a competition.

  • I see no problem with having favourites.

I like Jeff Beck more than Dimebag Darrell. I like Eric Johnson more than Alexi Laiho.

Should I be shot? Chill out.

  • Ha ha, I agree tractorman. I don't see any problem with ranking or categorizing. That's half the fun of it all! Just like the technique v. playing with heart arguments. Nothing's so sacred that you can't have a civil discussion about it.

  • Dimebag is good I just dont think he's my genre I like clapton, beck, freddie, stevie hendrix all them its just a personal opinion thats all it really doesnt matter.

  • No, but anyone who thinks SRV is better than JB should be.

  • Sorry -

The last one was in response to "if I rate guitarists should I be shot?"

  • That is the one and only Jan Hammer (Miami Vice) on the stand up keyboard thing!

  • Yes.

    He Is Andy Fairweather Lowe.

  • Is that Andy Fairweather Lowe on tamborine and vocals?

  • i think that concert give the idea of G3 concerts hehehe, to me concert for a.r.m.s is the G3 of the early 80's

  • Is that Ronnie Wood around the 5:07 mark?

  • Good eye! Playin rythym!!

  • Great intro, great tune. Thanks for putting it up.

  • Kickin' the drums are the one and only Simon Phillips...

  • GREAT!

  • unbelievable...classic!! Where were these vids when we needed them! Liner notes don't quite cut it anymore.

  • Chris Stainton is the other keyboardist. Cool to see Jan Hammer. Andy Fairweather-Low singing with Jeff. Bass player's name is Fernando Saunders. GREAT MUSIC.

  • Beck and Hammer, get out of here thats the best. Saw BECK live "77 off the hook.

  • off the hook? hello, this is JB, and this needs a real singer. Love Jeff, but..

  • Jan Hammer??

  • I just wish I could play well enough to hold his guitar case. If you can play this any better post it

  • This is the 1985 ARMS concert.

  • 1983

  • Jeff beck's signature move is making rock guitarists scratch their heads and wonder which note he's going to hit next.

  • right on

  • Pardon me? Did you just post that you're better than Jeff Beck? I'm sorry, I'm speechless, but I'll try. So, tell me, you must have played some big venues then, I guess. Like your mother's basement, church dances, the local shitholes? C'mon, where's your videos? Let the world see this self-confessed, better than Jeff Beck player! I for one would like to see your videos, so I can criticize too!

  • Learn how to spell. You have no videos. Chickenshit.

  • Don't mind him..

He's posted his weak minded drivel all over the Jeff Beck Stevie Ray Vaughn video too..

But don't worry every time he posts a comment he exposes himself as the idiot he really is...

But i for one would love to see the video of him being better than Beck..

    Bring on the embarrassment..!

  • I'm not saying it's not possible, but to hide behind a weak-ass excuse like that is a clue! Yup! Bring on the videos!

  • u r very silly

  • So if I type your name on Youtube I will come up with hundreds of videos of you rocking out all over the world, in front of thousands of adoring fans? I know, your also 10 times better than Hendrix, Blackmore, Satriani, Trower etc. etc.

  • That's Andy Fairweather-Low on vocals. Unless there's another Kenney Jones, who was the drummer for the Faces and Keith Moon's first replacement in the Who and was on this tour playing drums with other acts, that's not him on keyboards. Looks like Chris Stainton, but I've never seen him with his hair that short. Anyone know for sure who it is?

  • very. very very good!

  • Check out the original album version!!!!! PIANO MESSIAH!!!!!!!!!!

  • JEFF BECK!!!!!!!!!!

  • I peed at 3:26. OMG Jeff Beck is GOD!! I mean, i love other guitar greats too, but beck shocks me!!

  • The studio version is amazing! Im Going Down is my all time favorite guitar song, this after I learned to play "Voodoo Chile, Slight Return" on guitar.

  • i posted the studio version its here now

  • keytar rules!

  • Oh My I was at that show!!!!

    WOW THank you soooooooooooo Much!!!!

That show was a religious experience!!!

WOW! How did you get this?????Can you post more from the show??Oh my god that brings me back!! Too cool

  • simon phillips, as well as cozy powell, steve lukather and others musicians are very easy to find here in youtube, even when we aren't searching for them...

  • This show is from the Ronnie Lane Salute to ARMS. Fortunate to see at MSG in NY. Beck,Clapton,& Page on the same stage, it was freakin unbelievable

  • lose the keytar and its a bad arse jam

  • Could use Stevie Ray.....

  • Heels my soul indeed! I just love his playing!

  • Thats Ronnie Wood playing back up.

  • Agree with strandwolf. A lot of good years of fine guitar playing and associated performances and recording by Mr. Beck. Anybody have the Jeff Beck Group original version of this tune? Clean crisp smooth. Post it if ya got it. Please.

  • Jeff Beck

  • I have no idea where rock and roll will be 20 years up the line but Jeff Beck has been the pinnacle from 1963 to 2007. What a career so far, at least when he tends to the music rather than the automobilin'.

  • Anyone know who the guy playing bass is?

  • tony hymas

  • just kiddin sorry fernand sanders/bass

  • the arms concert has sertainly pwned the cr*p out of Live 8 and Live Earth etc!!! what a line up, Clapton, Page, Beck and more!

  • Beck was a ROCKER DELUXE!!! One of the top five guitars in the world.

  • I think he is the best in the world saw this tour at Cow Palace in S.F. didn't come home after for two daze! oh my

  • One and only Jeff!!
