  • WELL SAID CAPTAIN

  • Why is Richard Dean Anderson not in on this fight yet?

  • I don't really have a side in this, I like both franchises, but come on, you CANNOT tell me that those biceps aren't impressive for an 80 year old man.

  • ill take on the Rebel Alliance with my Enterprise D galaxy class starship in Star Trek Online.

  • OMG I love Shatner!

  • I love that people think they are serious, shows how little you know about those two. I love them both for having such a great sense of humor!!!!

  • I originally followed Star Trek, and after receiving my science degrees came to realize just how SCIENCE based Trek really is. It's AMAZING how NASA is trying to duplicate TREK ideas more than Wars! By the way, look at the communicators they used in TOS, looks a LOT like Cell phones of today, don't they?

  • Star Trek was TV history, Star Wars was movie history

  • OMG - never thought the sadness will reach a new level. Professional actors fighting over which is best............. sad Carrie and WIll GET A LIFE

  • @whitemanstand72 looooool

  • What's the fuss about Star Trek being so much better than Star Wars? They are apples and oranges, both are fruit but different. Star Trek and Star Wars are both science fiction and take place in space, but they are entirely different. Both are good and entertaining, both are iconic, both have great characters...BUT the entire stories and themes are as different as apples and oranges.

  • ↑UU↑ Uplift! XD

  • im sorry but i prefer star wars. the story line was ultimately more moving and revolutionary. oh and by the by i have read carrie fishers books; you rlly wanna throw down with a crazy person bill?

  • ha ha..very funny..i love star wars and trek..and all sci fi movies alike...shatner is god..

  • lol carrie fisher is a drug addled whore.

  • Keep hitting the gym and drinking those power shakes, Mr. Shatner. We need you lean 'n' mean when the time comes for you to kick Chris Pine's butt as the nefarious Tiberius in STAR TREK 3.

  • Oh William, how much I love you xD

  • They were both born pretty, damn bastards.

  • Yeah, return of the jedi and the next saga was useless and super gay BUT i'm sorry William...Star Trek was utterly silly on both movies or series, the dialog, the costumes (fake and gay), the sexuality was handled with such naivity "1960s" era like...nothing like the achievement of empire strikes back, that movie made ST look like a bad tv drama, badly done with cheesy dialogs, cheesy situations and bad acting and NONO of those things has shit to do with special effects whatsoever, FAIL

  • Hilarious. I only like the original series of Star Trek...Captain Kirk and Spock and Bones. Star Wars beats some of the other Treks but not the original series.

  • I recently became a massive Star Trek fan, and I have to wear sunglasses to protect my eyes from the sheer awesomeness that is Captain Kirk.

As for Star Wars...I can't stay awake past the 30 minute mark.

  • 80 or not, Shatner is still a genius. I love his comic style of debate - Carrie Fisher has just been Shatnered!

  • This is one very "precious" video. =p

  • Firefly> Star Trek and Star Wars

  • @CalebARobertson <3 Firefly, but I can't say I like it more than Star Wars.

    *ducks*

  • YAWN

  • Anyone who is actually arguing on the topic of Wars vs Trek, provoked by these videos, is getting trolled by people old enough to be their great-grandparents. Just sayin.

  • @MrKosmaka Aye, aye, aye.

  • you guys wanna see some Star Trek vs Star Wars ACTION instead of words ?

and if William Shatner himself makes a comment I'll even put in his old ship smacking around some Star Destroyers just for him !

  • He's cooler than Carrie and tougher than Norris.

  • Star Trek was there before Star Wars. If it wasn't for Star Trek, Star Wars would probably still be light years away before the idea came up for a motion picture film. Without Star Trek, the popularity of Star Wars would have been equivalent to the Edsel. A little ahead of it's time. It was fortunate that Star Trek prepared the audience for what was to come out in the first Star Wars episode!

  • Don't be surprised if Luke's character is replaced by Captain Kirk with Princess Leah dress in her bikini outfit with a kiss scene as they leave Jaba's ship.

  • Little boys hero's when I grew up were always Superman, Batman, maybe Han Solo or Luke Skywalker....MINE WAS CAPTAIN KIRK!!!! He got all the women and kicked everybody's ass!!!!!! Shatner wins...Star Trek Wins!!!!!

  • The original trilogy had story. The prequels had Jar Jar...Do I really need to go on?

  • @korrde If you wanted to be accurate, yes, you would go on. The prequels had FAR more story than the originals. Isn't that why a lot of people pretend they get confused by them--because they require more intake and processing of information than the originals, and those people just don't want to have to think that much? :P

  • @Agahnim18 As the Rifftrax guys said, Lucas introduced America's most loathed on-screen character. The prequels cut out story in order to prolong the fight scenes. If you really think the prequels had more story then the original trilogy then I am sorry for you. What the prequels did wasn't introduce more story, it was introduce more nonsense. Midichlorians, Jar Jar, prophecy. That's not more story that's just more clutter to the script.

  • @korrde If you say so. You're wrong, though. The density of the prequel story has even caused a few people to get confused and throw around the word "nonsense". Don't know why, personally, because everything we need to know is there. :/ The story is definitely more intricate and on a grander scale than the original trilogy's.

  • @Agahnim18 How do you figure? You claim it was more intricate, well how about you prove it? You say the prequels confused people that use the word nonsense in connection to them. I disagree. People saw them and simply decided that there was too much lightsaber dancing not enough story. The originals actually felt like realistic sword fighting and not over the top dancing.

  • @korrde The proof is in the movies. Look how much simpler the originals are compared to the prequels. OT: Luke trains to be a Jedi and works to turn his father. The Rebels battle the Empire. PT: Anakin trains to be a Jedi but turns to the dark side. Palpatine creates a military conflict and puppeteers both sides, just as he has been doing politically, in order to gain ultimate power for the newly resurgent Sith. The Republic battles the Separatists.

  • @korrde Also, they cut out story in order to prolong the fight scenes? Really? I'd argue the original trilogy has by far the more action set-pieces. :/

  • @Agahnim18 The originals didn't have lightsaber fights lasting nearly as long, or if they did the fighting stopped for the majority of that time. I point at the Maul duel and the Obi-wan Anakin duel for this one.

  • @korrde Hmm. The fights in ESB and RotJ were also spread out over a good period of time, though. :/ Also, why does fight length = quality?

  • Sorry Bill, Kirk was cool but "Slave Leia" defined my childhood!

  • If Bill get's anymore red... he might be considered a Red Dwarf...

  • Anyone who says Star Wars has no story was too distracted by all the superior special effects to pay attention. :P Honestly, there's a lot of story and a lot of character in those movies (all six of them).

  • I want Bill as Kirk back! Still more of a man than those horrible softies in George Bushs version of Star Trek (US & UK against the axis of evil = Star Trek: Enterprise) who used violence all the time instead of superb kirk'ian love techniques hehe

  • ST costumes are nerdy & GAY!!! SW costumes are cool/gangster more soo with the princess leia bakini :)

  • Shame , Shame ... She was drinking that giant glass of vodka and diet check cola , and apparently out of sorts when her friends decided it would be funny to film her in that condition . It's just sad .

  • I disagree with Shatner on one thing.. Star Wars had plenty of story, but Star Trek is still just as good (all five franchises)

  • lol Nice one... I have to admit I love both shows since I was a little girl. I wanted to BE princess Leia at 4 when Star Wars came out and I wanted to be ON the Enterprise watching TOS reruns around the same age. haha

  • OK will, hy hope to see you again in that uniform on a starship from the federation

  • That's it there needs to be a Star Wars vs Star Trek movie. Wait isn't that Space Balls?

  • Forget about Star Trek v Star Wars for a second and look at their arguments. Carrie didn't have much in the way of facts, Bill's were questionable with their legitimacy. Shatner destroyed Fisher in the verbal joust for insults thoughq. Witty and handsome, FTW

  • HOW IS HE 80???? WTF he looks like he could be 60 or even 55. Wow.

  • @peruvianhitman It's because he feeds on the blood of his fans

  • William is 25 years older than Carrie but doesn't look older than her and is in better shape.

  • I'm probably a minority here when I say I'm a Star Wars fan. However, that being said, William Shatner pwns all.

  • You're insane.

  • BIll is holding up better than carrie

Dude seriously has another 20years in him.. no doubt

What the hell did she do to her face.

  • Damn Bill you look fantastic

  • lol go bill

  • Star Trek is better than Star Wars.

  • lol

  • lol... you are the best Mr. Shatner

  • Amen Bill! It's all about the story! Star Trek Rules!!!

  • Nobody does pseudo drama like Shatner, lol! This whole thing cracks me up.

  • Shatner 1:0 Fisher ^^ love them both

  • Haha gotta love this guy +1

  • I want to run a new quarrel: what is better -- Galaxy Quest or Spaceballs?

  • Even when I was a kid I thought the plot of Star Wars was retarded. Especially compared to Star Trek.

I mean--as a kid, mind you--I remember Yoda's whole spiel with the Force and "size matters not" and thinking, why not just blow up the Empire with the Force in that case?

    But no.

Besides, the prequels should have reinforced the point that the writing of Star Wars was nowhere near as SINCERE as Star Trek. It's a crowd-pleasing by-the-numbers good vs evil plot at its core, writing to sell. IMO

  • Your video is a favorite on Mongolia

  • @WilliamShatner - You sir, are awesome. I am proud to be both Canadian and a Star Trek fan.

Not everything that Shatner said is 100% accurate, but it doesn't matter: he's Shatner. He was out saving the galaxy when our parents were still in diapers. He can say and do things that, despite being legal, the rest of us could never get away with; "keep off the grass" signs don't apply to him.

  • Let's see it then, you in the original. Doing the pull down every five seconds :)

  • This is so funny. Princess Leia is still hot tho ..........

  • I was shocked to find out Shatner is 80!!! He looks 30 years younger easily

  • Captain Kirk always did believe in always win scenarios...

  • William Shatner wins.

For me I always loved the original Star Trek series best. Not TNG or any others, just the originals. I liked the original 77 Star Wars New Hope but found the series sorta tanked after that imo.

  • Hahahaha

  • uh, Star Wars had a lot of story... so did star trek... this fight is kinda dumb

  • loooool well done bill hahahahaha

  • Star Wars the longer it went on reminded me of when you jingle your keys in front of a baby. They love the sound & bright metal object infront of their face. That to me is basically a Star Wars fan. But to be honest is there any Star Wars fans anymore??? Anyone old enough to have seen the original 3 in the theater HATES the new ones... and all the kids that liked the new ones are now in their 20's and HATE them now. So really their isnt even a fan base for Star Wars anymore?

  • William shouldnt have brought up her weight or their weight... he should have talked about he HORRIBLE Face Lift. Go there William! Bust her balls on that face.

  • Star Wars could brag from 1977-1985 ... From The Voyage Home, Next Generation - Star Trek & Star Wars was pretty much even, as soon as George made new shitty films & Star Trek made the last film.... it's NO Contest! George was a sprinter that ran out of gas in 1983. Fucking with Special Editions, Making everything CGI & having NO script. The party is over!

  • ohhhhh, cheap shots left and right. nice to see he had his turbo 2000 toupe' on special for youtube.

  • HA HA... that's why he's the "Shat"

  • you have to admit, I mean at 0:21, not many 80 year old (!!!) men have such muscular arms...

  • @Keytaster He's not eighty years old. The faster you travel, the slower time (Einstein). Well, we all know how fast he travelled!

  • Star Wars in the '70s & '80s was the bomb. The 3 newly added episodes that are practically all about the CGI, suck the Galaxy's you know what.

The original 3 movies did have what William is talkin' about: story, character and plot developement and all w/morals to each story. The 1st 3 released Star Wars movies rocked the Universe.

Steve/SF/CA/USA, Fan of Star Trek and Star Trek TNG, as well as most of the Star Trek movies.

  • Ha ha,ha, ha.... so funny!

Great points about Star Trek too, the original and best!

  • Carrie Underwood is skinnier,Bill

  • How about Darth Vader verses Q? Who would win then? Thats right Vader would be Q's bitch!

  • Star Trek RULES YOU ALL KNOW IT!!!! Don't try to deny it Carrie Fisher. It's ok to be not as good. Accept it and move on!

  • Gotta admit, Shatner looks great for his age. But please don't make me choose between Star Trek and Star Wars. I love them both.

  • William Shatner real American hero

  • @tiberiousss

    William is Canadian, eh?

He's from Canada, don't you know? Suskatchatun.

  • @LandSnipe415 Shatner was born and grew up in Côte Saint-Luc, a neighbourhood in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, eh, not *Saskatchewan.

  • @caporalchef4

    Hey, eh?

I'm from south of the boarder in Northern California; I knew he was from Canada and threw in the "Suskatchatun" a mythical Canadian town on the recent Adam Sandler film, "Grown Ups" as a joke. For me, it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help. We all now have the facts.

  • @LandSnipe415 That explains your humor or lack of it. Adam Sandler movies are pretty much considered to be a "date movie". A majority of people tend to forget about the movie and what took place in it 5 minutes after they leave the theater. Apparently Sandler's cutesy humorless movies left quite an impression with you.

  • @tiberiousss Wow, U know Ur movie catagories, don't U? Date movie? Cutesy? That's a good one; don't let the guys know U used that word.

Bill is from Canada. My stating that fact doesn't have to ruin anyone's good mood.

  • @LandSnipe415 The word was used as a descriptive. So you would know what kind of movie you were watching. As your were obviously blind to that fact. Without using descriptive's, it would not have been possible to explain to you just how asinine referencing a "cutesy date movie" was. What I said was contextually wrong. I should have said "Shatner is a hero to the American people". This does not dilute the essence of what I was trying to say however. Thank You.

  • @tiberiousss

    Heeeeeeeeee'z Caaaaaaaan-aaaaaaaaaaaad-iaaaaaaan!

But I do get that he's @ least one American's hero. Now THAT is asinine, Einstein. .

  • @LandSnipe415 You have made that point, multiple times. I have responded to that. But perhaps I have left you speechless so your only recourse is to repeat. As for myself. Stating that Shatner is a hero to the American public is neither asinine or erroneous. The Original series has been very popular for the last 40 years. Spawning several movies and other trek series. Not to mention thousands of "trekkies" attending trek conventions all the time. Safe to assume there's more than just I.

  • @tiberiousss This is no longer America; for now it is

  • @tiberiousss This is not America currently; it is Wartime America. During times like these, the only people who I consider heros are our Troops. When I was a kid, I idolized Bruce Lee, he in a sense was a hero to me. In fact inspired 2 decades of rigorous study. Even so, it was not until I served in the Gulf War that I saw the definition thoroughly demonstrated. American Troops from the U.S. who suffer & die are the true heros to the American People, not some foreigner livin' phat in Beverly H.

  • @caporalchef4 There are rumours that he lived in Saskatchewan for a few months when he was in high school. Then again, as far as I know, they are only rumours.

  • @tiberiousss Shatner was born and raised in Côte Saint-Luc, a neighbourhood in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

  • @caporalchef4 Then he's from North America....that does have an America in it does it not?...so shut up.

  • @tiberiousss You're a fuckin idiot. You know as well as I do that you meant American as a citizen of the the United States. I merely gave you some facts. Now, if you're too much of a goddamn dickhead with an ego problem and having your feelings hurt whenever someone politely corrects you, call your mommy or see a shrink, you fuckin clown.

  • Darth vader vs captain kirk Darth vader will win

  • @themaster123456781 Vader might win, but if Kirk could sniff out Vader's orphan complex in time, all he would have to do is mention his mother and Vader would destroy himself in one of his pouty baby tantrums.

  • The Captain never goes down without a fight....Don't f--k with Capt.Kirk and the Enterprise....All those who oppose the federation always lose.....Kirk rules the universe and always will....That's just the way it is...

  • Carrie was so hot in her bikini outfit Jabba put her in...Jabba loved hot space chicks and so do I!!!!

  • Love ya Bill.....U ARE SO FRIIGGIN FUNNY!!!!!!!....U look great too...Remember watch ur sodium intake...stick with chicken and fish...God Bless u and ur family...keep makin us laugh ...enjoy the holiday season and keep kickin ass!!!!!

  • Bill is always the man and Carrie I love her as well but until Carrie reply back he wins this round.

  • Sorry Bill.. you said sunset :/

  • Thanks William, _Thanks Carrie, for to appear joking about your old characters in such a funny way. Congratulations , because seeing you both alive and kicking we are certain that the legend continues.

  • His Darth Vader voice nearly made me fall off my chair laughing. The man is a legend.

  • i think he looks great, especially considering he's 80 years old

  • Shatners the man .....

  • ha ha

  • Princess Leia and Captain Kirk are 2 much-loved sci-fi icons who meant (and still mean) a lot to a great many people. This is funny while it's tongue-in-cheek, I just hope it doesn't turn into something else and demean the actors.

  • Hey Guys!

Check out William Shatner with young comedian Nermin Zajic on my channel. Very Funnyy!!!

  • @Revoltingmachine Star Wars has 7 Films. You are forgetting the holiday special. *is shot*

  • @Sailorsega 8 including the Clone Wars movie.

  • @ejhankerson Yes I had forgotten about Clone Wars.

  • ROFL!!! "uplift" You da man Shatner! xo

  • Comment removed

  • Let me tell you something obout Star Trek and Star Wars. Star Trek has much more loyal fans. Just look at the like/dislike ratio on the clip where Carrie's Fisher bashes Star Trek and compere it to like/dislike ratio on this clip of Mr. Shatner! Just sayin'....

  • Good on you Mr. Shatner

  • @serpentza :-)

  • The only good part of Star Trek was The Next Generation, which...oh my...Shatner had no part in.

  • Well hello there, Han Solo! ;D

  • See "George Takei Brokers Star Peace"

  • Your the man bill...!

  • Winning!

  • Carrie just got Shatnered.

  • Shatner is the man!

  • I take back every negative thing I have even considered saying about William Shatner. Owned.

  • She had it comin.

  • William Shatner looks AMAZING

  • William Shatner is older than Carrie Fisher but Carrie Fisher looks older than William Shatner.

  • @Sailorsega That is because star trek has technology that could possibly work one day, including the time travel bit.

    Ha, Hyperspace... Hyper this.

  • @Voxnulla Evidently it's working to make Shatner look amazing into his 80s

  • @Sailorsega Mr Scotty, beam me up and give me a tuck while you're at it.

  • @Voxnulla Are you saying something is wrong with homosexuality? If so I'm glad you're a Star Trek fan.

  • @Sailorsega I woud much much much rather wake up next to Carrie Fisher though after a night of too much drinking.....

  • @Sailorsega Shatner hit 60 and basically stopped aging.

  • George wins you both :P

  • Uhura: We are being hailed!

    Kirk: Patch it through..

Kiiiiiirk (ominous Star Trek music) this is the Klingon Commander of the battlecruiser Poop' la!! Surrender Enterprise or the prisoners will be executed!! Cue to commercials..

  • i'll always remember you as denny crane.

  • I want to take Bill and Carrie out for a drink. I think we could avoid intergalactic war that way.

  • shut up redface

    on behalf of Carrie

  • What an idiot. His come backs are as bad as his acting.

  • @excuse me but your way out of line the way your addressing captain kirk

  • @SumSayYez Star date 1729.342/7_12ABC765.89642?^^^gHwww.WHOGIVESACRAP@yourmothersbasement.lame

  • Star Wars- is a band with a few hit singles. Star Trek- is a band with many classic albums.

  • I want to watch the response!!

  • star wars is from another place and another time like the opening phrase always suggest at the beginning of each movie, where as star trek is a bold, visionary, revolutionary, look into the future of humanity + space ....thus making star trek all the more believable

  • the dislikes are from Carrie

  • I think Star Wars has political parallel to reality. It has it's place in the world of politics and Satire. Star Trek is a uplifting look on the future.

  • Star Trek is ok Star Wars is fucking epic EOD.

  • What's Han Solo doing on a video about Star Trek?

  • @nightwing: He's joking. Get a grip! You really don't know the actors and when they're being playful. :(

  • If William Shatner were the captain of any kind of ship, I would love to serve in that ship.

  • The Shat wins this round...however, if you really wan't a fight bring in the almighty Harrison Ford.

  • I do like Star Trek a bit better than Star Wars, but I'm not an asshole about it like you are, Bill. So fuck off!!!

    P.S. TNG was better!!!

  • David Tennant to both Shatner and Fisher: "Bitches, please!"
