No. I have never heard of...or seen any car trunk (boot) sales here in the US. We usually have garage/yard/ or flea market sales here.

Here in the states we have two kinds that are similar to your Car Boots.

1) Yard sales or Garage sales, basically the local city will designate certain days of the year where people can sell things in there front yard without having to get a permit. There is one in the South thats over 100 miles long.

2) Swap meets which is probably more like your Car Boots except the sellers are shop owners without the buildings and they usually happen in large parking lots and festival grounds.

@REDBULLHEADiphone NAH... it is ONE HUNDRED MILES LONG, goes through a few southern states Louisiana I think is one of them. It would take a week to drive the darn thing and see everything. Google it I think you can find it under Longest yard sale in the world.

Nice one Sam was funny, our locations are still kinda similar to yours but sorta the other way around, was in ASDA on Sat at 7pm, I go to Caerleon every day around 7pm-ish I go past the car auctions at 1030am every day. Last Sunday we went to Wetherspoons (Tom Toya) at around 4pm and spotted those dragons, took some pics with the kids. I promise I'll wave if I see an enormously tall human being poking his head over the fence over towards Alexandra if I'm waiting at the lights LOL. All the best !
