@FrodoDojo Thank you for your interest in CAULK-EZ. Like any product it is always a good idea to test a small area but to answer your question CAULK-EZ has been used by professionals and DYI for several years and to date we have never received any complaints of staining. I would suggest that the wood be finished first.
You do want to smooth the bead before it begins to skin over. Every caulk has a little different time but most allow you around 10 minutes to work with it. If you wait to long the caulk and it developes a skin you won't get that perfect looking bead.
Thank you for watching our video, I hope it was helpful.
Thank you for your comments. For sure too much caulk and you will end up with a mess every time. I would challenge you though on smoothing the bead without using a tooling aid like CAULK-EZ, especially when using premium sealants like 100% silicone.
I very much agree with the tip being cutoff square and keep the hole SMALL. My experience too shows it puts even caulk down and reduces the chance of me putting WHAY too much caulk down and that I then have to worry about cleaning up after.
I have used that spray, but find that its extra work. Experience has allowed me to minimize the caulk and with light finger pressure smooth the bead down such that it does not oooze out the sides or accumulate blobs in front of my figure travel.
CAULK-EZ is specially formulated to work on all caulks and contains additives that make it super slippery. The advantage of using CAULK-EZ is that it reduces the coefficiency of friction to zero. Simply put it eliminates all surface tension so that the caulk can't stick. Water may help reduce the tension but won't eliminate it like CAULK-EZ.
Looks just like non-stick cooking spray. Good tips.

If you get any of the CAULK-EZ on cupboard or baseboard wood, will it stain?

Diluted washing up liquid works just as well. Lot cheaper too.

you don't need that spray crap to smooth out the caulk, nothing but a waste of time and money using it

I was watching a DIY commercial that was sayin; hurry, while the caulk is still wet, you must smooth the caulk before it starts to get hard

@bidders77 actually it is 90. the surface being caulked is on a different axis then you are thinking.

Nice... but you can't get 'caulk easy' in South Korea. Should I use washing up detergent, or vegetable oil... or what?
555pontifex 1 year ago
I see nothing wrong with this method. Does the caulk ease evaporate clean or do you need to clean it up after the caulk is dry?

@1971SuperLead
Thank you for your response. Yes CAULK-EZ dries clear and any residue that is left is easily wiped off with a damp clothe after the caulk is dry.

@CAULKEZ What's the advantage of using this over sprayed water?
