  • Wtf what blood+ movie is this?

  • It's not a Blood+ Movie, it just uses a song from it for the video.

The Movie itself is called Magnetic Rose, and is part of a trio of a short anime collection known as Memories.

"Magnetic Rose" is the story about what happens when a deep space salvage freighter and its crew is called upon to investigate a distress signal from a ship in a remote location in space, only to be swept up in a world created by one woman's memories.

  • One of most amazing anime movies i've seen!

  • A True Anime Classic

  • Upwards Of 9,000 views...

  • Anime: Magnetic Rose (from the trilogy: Memories [Magnetic Rose, Sting Bomb and Cannon Fodder]) - from 1995 if I'm correct.

Music for Magnetic Rose - made by Yoko Kanno. And I actually prefer her musical interpreatation of this anime rather that this "Diva" song from Blood+. But it is beautiful anyway. Thanks. It's great that people like that kind of music and like that kind of anime. Are we the last generation of that kind of people? Who is going to watch that and listen to that?

    Beautiful,thx

  • yes you are correct about the year. I'm no stranger to the work of Yoko kanno myself being one of many of her legions of fans.

Magnetic Rose is a supreme work of Musical and animation Genius, its sad to know that as time goes by, such things get lost along with it and no longer get the appreciation they deserve.

This in part was a tribute, I tried to convey Magnetic Rose's Atmospheric Nature.

    I'm Glad you liked it.

  • I do like it :) Its actually the greatest anime that Ive ever seen. For others, theres Spirited Away or it might be Ghost in the Shell. A friend of mine who used to live in the 90s said that at the time when GITS was released, Memories were more popular.

  • What I personally like about Magnetic Rose is not only the music but the type of drawings and the idea behind it. The woman is supposed to be... lets say... the main character, and yet... youre not focused at her sexuality, youre not even aware of that idea. I have a feeling like You are watching this movie with the eyes of a child... there is this different type of focus... that kind of mysticism that people have inside... which is kind of... maybe not so important nowadays.

  • Besides... hand drawing here is just top-notch, you wont see here any 3DMAX or Maya rendering. You can have... lots of interpretations from the story... mine is that... the way we behave... we affect other people, the last scene rose petals scene is a message for me that if we create for someone a world of false beauty or real beauty... this person will eventually live that world. And of course Yoko Kanno, my favourite song is memories, for me, it is a kick ass of a lifetime.

  • this so so good

the video was bloody good and i think it works well with diva's song

  • I'm glad you like it

I suggest watching Magnetic Rose if you havent... its brillantly beautiful

  • im looking for it right now lol

=3 its my goal for the weekend lol=3

  • I don't know what anime this is; but the "Diva" piece forces one to feel so many emotions at once. Elin Carlson is Dynamic. She brings the house down literally at 2:13, 3:15 and 4:40-4:46 beautifully.

  • I would have to agree with you there.

I tried to keep the video in context with the song as best as I could.

  • So is the name of the song Rise and Fall of a Diva? I'm tryin to find it. I've typed Diva's Song and Rise and Fall of a Diva, but Limewire can't find it!

  • The Song itself is simply called "Diva"

its by Mark Mancina and sung by Elin Carlson

(I believe I got her name right)

  • Is this a movie? What is it about?

  • Magnetic Rose is part of a trio of a short anime collection known as Memories.

"Magnetic Rose" is the story about what happens when a deep space salvage freighter is called upon to investigate a distress signal from a ship in a remote location in space, only to be swept up in a world created by one woman's memories.

  • Alright let me make this clear, This AMV has abolsolutly nothing to do with Blood+ at all, except for the song in it.

The "Diva" I'm refering to is the one in the AMV.

The term diva was originally used to describe a woman of rare, outstanding talent. It derives from the Italian word 'diva' meaning "goddess" or "fine lady"

By definition, the term diva was originally used for great female opera singers, who were almost always sopranos.

  • Great job! On the judge's scale of one to ten, this video placed a six for all categories!

  • I remember seeing this movie for the first time. This movie scars me!

The song from blood+ makes it creeper. AWSOME!

  • that was the feeling I was going for, since Magnetic Rose itself was creepy beautiful, in a sad mysterious haunting sort of way.

The song itself was the best choice to go along with it since in that regard they were the same.

  • I was just watching teh video and how is this Blood+ anime

  • The song is from Blood+ hence the tag

  • because of that fact it has the tag in the first place because its Blood+ related.

  • its not. the voice and music are from Diva, Saya's evil twin from Blood+.

  • thank you for clearing that up :)

  • shes not really evil just misunderstood. she was locked in a tower as a test subject since birth

  • to quote the show she acted as she was because she never knew love

  • Really awesome video.

  • the scene starting from 04:13 is awesome. If fits perfectly with the song!

    5/5

  • 4:13 The Climax scene, one of my personal favorites

  • who´s the singer?

  • Elin Carlson

  • Thanks for the great video! This is so beautiful.

  • I'm so happy that so many People like this AMV, its not really that easy for me to get good clips to work with so I wasnt really sure if any would like it cosidering the quality and screen jumping.

  • This was the best song you could have picked! Gud Job!, never watched this show but I'm enamored with blood+ and this song.

It gives me shivers but at the same time it shoots some weird feeling through my ears, i just want to cry by hearing this song! ***AMAZING SONG*** thanx!

  • u kno i think ur right. theres a movie called Fatal Attraction and they are listening to Madame Butterfly on her stereo. idk wat happened but Blood+ isn't on adultswim anymore

  • They seem 2 keep pulling certain syndacated shows off Adult Swim then show the reruns from time to time I remember Adult swim pulled Inuyasha off adult swim & put it back on the show I don't know how many times. I only saw bits of Fatal Attraction and There was a scene where Michael Douglas's character was listening 2 Madame Butterfly on Glenn Close's charater's stereo? :)

  • Memories is by far 1 of the best anime dvd! I saw it on 1 of the movie channels & recorded it.

  • I recorded it on vhs not on dvd.

  • The amv's music is very peaceful very soothing.

  • yeah it is

  • That's freakin' cool and weird. Maybe I'll get around to seeing it.

woa, th' song's from Blood +!? That's so strange, it doesn't seem like it would be...

  • I highly recommend watching it Magnetic Rose is simply beautiful.

And yes the song is from Blood+ (Its Diva's Song) hard to believe right.

  • This song to me was practically made for Magnetic Rose

It suits it so well I was really suprized nobody thought of using the two together before.

  • I thoroughly approve; reminds me of wonderful Memories. ^_^

  • Say magneticrose here's a couple there's a song called Memories By: Elvis in his 68' comeback special and there's an old song called Thanks for the memories. ^_^ ...

  • The Song is Called Diva and its from the anime Blood+

  • I absolutely adore her voice, i love blood+.

  • I absolutly love her voice 2 IsEsDeAdPpL. I think this anime short is supposed 2-B based on the opera Carmen Butterfly or was that Madame Butterfly? I forgot in the beggining where u 1st hear the music is supposed 2-B the same music from the opera/play? I think that's what it was mentioned in the dvd feature I rented it 1 time.

  • Just my opinion, Magnetic Rose was based partly on the inspriration of Puccini's Madame Butterfly and does borrow some elements from the play. As such some of the music itself was used.

  • It was loosly based on the play? & what's Puccini's 1st name?

  • I meant to put Opera but it was too late to change it, his first name was Giacomo there's a really good page about him and his work and Madame Butterfly on wikipedia

  • What's the name of the song playing?

  • The Climax Scene 4:08 to 4:55 is my most Favorite Part of this AMV

  • A VERY nice video! 5 stars!
