I fear that most people who actually believe that they could keep their own salvation any more than they could do anything to obtain are themselves not saved. Jesus paid the price in full. If you have placed your trust in Him and His finished work, you are saved eternally. Jesus said, "It is finished." When God saves someone, He does it right the first time. If you are truly saved, God will chastise you if you are rebellious to His voice. But consecration is an altogether different matter.
Considering you were friends with GPA and probably a follower too--it doesn't surprise me you say those things. He taught a false gospel, you're all deceived--and you teach a Gnostic version of grace--instead while the Scriptures teach the true Grace that brings salvation..

He denies scripture that say we'll all be judged according to what we've done. 2Cor 5:10; John 5:28,29; Rom 14:10. He contradicts himself by saying anyone who believes OSAS will always remain saved, then he says I'm going to hell, but I DID once believe OSAS! Hear the DESPARATION in his voice. A follower of Jesus must be gentle to all men, in meekness instructing those who oppose themselves, praying that God gives them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth. A person who is a child of the devil CAN repent and be born of God, only to change his mind AGAIN and forsake God, and cause God to forsake him. To deny this is to deny many verses of scripture where people did so.
@LivingFaith2-I believe that OSAS isn't sound doctrine based on Rev 3:5 and Rev 3:11-Jesus own words saying that your name could be blotted out of the book of life and hold fast that no man take thy crown to me means that you can lose salvation. The willfull sin in Hebrews is nothing more than turning back from Christ unto the Law. It is a specific sin. Hebewa - Law, you know? It would have been hard for a Jew to confess Christ in a public manner, think about all the other Pharisees...
One must read into Heb 10:26 to assume that the willful sin it refers to is limited to turning back to the law of Moses. It's referring to forsaking of Christ's Word. If we deny Him, He also will deny us...even if we don't believe He will. 2Tim 2:12,13. God didn't lie about forsaking those who forsake Him.

There is absolutely NO insecurities to the man who is IN CHRIST. That is the only sure thing. The Corinthians were coddling a known fornicator (chapter 5) rather than putting him out of the church, and Paul was reproving them for their lukewarmness and fellowshipping an evil man. When he said "such WERE some of you", he wasn't saying "and such ARE some of you", as OSAS teachers read into it.

There were never two separate and distinct gospels...one for the Jews and a different gospel for gentiles. If what some dispensationalists teach were true, then Paul would have been saying to "Let Peter be accursed", since they deny Peter preached the same gospel as Paul did. But Peter, in Acts 10, preached the same gospel to Cornelius, a GENTILE, that he preached to the Jews at Pentacost. "Fear God and WORK righteousness", or you can't be accepted by God. I fear that most people who actually believe that they could keep their own salvation any more than they could do anything to obtain are themselves not saved. Jesus paid the price in full. If you have placed your trust in Him and His finished work, you are saved eternally. Jesus said, "It is finished." When God saves someone, He does it right the first time. If you are truly saved, God will chastise you if you are rebellious to His voice. But consecration is an altogether different matter.

Read Psalm 14 and see who doesn't seek after God...it's those who say in their hearts "There is no God". I seek after God, as all the RIGHTEOUS do, BECAUSE we BELIEVE THERE IS A GOD WHO JUDGES ALL MEN. The fool doesn't.

@CBALLEN: Yes, a person who has been born again can fall away from the faith, fail to overcome, and get his name blotted out of the book of life. See Rev 3:5. Read Rev 2 and 3. Notice that Jesus said His own disciples could become worthless salt and be cast out Matt 5:13.
A person who is a child of the devil CAN repent and be born of God, only to change his mind AGAIN and forsake God, and cause God to forsake him. To deny this is to deny many verses of scripture where people did so.

@LivingFaith2-I believe that OSAS isn't sound doctrine based on Rev 3:5 and Rev 3:11-Jesus own words saying that your name could be blotted out of the book of life and hold fast that no man take thy crown to me means that you can lose salvation. I also don't believe your works can save you or keep your salvation by itself, that's just my two cents of the issue.

The willfull sin in Hebrews is nothing more than turning back from Christ unto the Law. It is a specific sin. Hebewa - Law, you know? It would have been hard for a Jew to confess Christ in a public manner, think about all the other Pharisees...

One must read into Heb 10:26 to assume that the willful sin it refers to is limited to turning back to the law of Moses. It's referring to forsaking of Christ's Word. If we deny Him, He also will deny us...even if we don't believe He will. 2Tim 2:12,13. God didn't lie about forsaking those who forsake Him.
2Ch 15:2 ...The LORD is with you, while you be with Him; and if you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

There is absolutely NO insecurities to the man who is IN CHRIST. That is the only sure thing. If a man walks away from Jesus Christ, departs the faith, casts off his relationship with Jesus then they are no longer in right standing/relationship with God and stand in jeopardy. We only gamble with our eternity when we abandon our first love and walk away from God.

The Corinthians were coddling a known fornicator (chapter 5) rather than putting him out of the church, and Paul was reproving them for their lukewarmness and fellowshipping an evil man. Apparantly they didn't know that the unrighteous, even though he may profess faith in Christ, CANNOT inherit the kingdom of God. When he said "such WERE some of you", he wasn't saying "and such ARE some of you", as OSAS teachers read into it.

"Believe" in John 3:16 doesn't offer hope to those whose belief is no better than devil's belief. The devils believe and tremble. Are they saved by believing?

There were never two separate and distinct gospels...one for the Jews and a different gospel for gentiles. If what some dispensationalists teach were true, then Paul would have been saying to "Let Peter be accursed", since they deny Peter preached the same gospel as Paul did. But Peter, in Acts 10, preached the same gospel to Cornelius, a GENTILE, that he preached to the Jews at Pentacost. "Fear God and WORK righteousness", or you can't be accepted by God. God is no respecter of persons.

Sorry, GPAP, Lev 5 isold covenant. I'm not under the law, but under grace. There has been a change made of the law because the preisthood has changed. Read Heb 7. My High Priest doesn't offer animal sacrifices in a man-made temple; He entered into the Holy Place in heaven once for all by the sacrifice of His body.

Thank you for your faithfulness to Jesus. Thank you for warning us, just as the Scriptures warn us. Thank you for being a faithful witness. One day Christ will come to take vengeance on those who do not OBEY the gospel (2 Thess. 1:8). OSAS is indeed the first lie of the devil, and he has his "angels of light" still peddling the same old lie. The wise will take heed to the Word of God.

GPAP, in all humility, there are hundreds of verses in the KJV that refute OSAS. I'd be glad to share some or all of them I know with you if you're ever interested. Also, mid acts dispensationalism is a new doctrine, never taught by Paul or any apostle of God. There are not now, and never were two separate and distinct gospels: one for the Jews and another for the Gentiles. It was Peter, not Paul who first preached the gospel to the gentiles. See acts 10.
