  • I saw this comment, I still remember it, And I was only 2 years old! :D

  • @dekdk11 LOL i meant comet

  • I was alive to see this, but I didn't see it.. mostly because nobody in my family was interested.. seeing videos of Hale Bopp makes me want to cry knowing I will never see anything like this.. :(

  • I was born tht year dam:(

  • It passed on my 16th birthday. It may seem a little silly, but for me it was like the universe itself was wishing me a happy birthday. I've had several amazing things happen for me in my life, but even if I live to be 100 none will ever come close to equaling it.

  • i was 3 years old !!! wish i was old !

  • I remember searching for this and thinking that I saw it. I was legally blind (with no correction) until 2005. Plus we have light pollution like whoa here. Seriously. It never quite gets dark because of all the street lights. :(

  • ill never forget seeing it

  • Damn. I was born that year.

  • cool video...i was 25 years old when i saw it.

  • D: damn me and not being born until a year after >.<

  • @princessyoukai1234 dont worry princess you are young and I m sure there wil be more interesting comets to come by...lets hope they just dont poss threat to Earth when they do...

enjoy life to the full in your prime life

  • Wikipedia says the last orbit thingy was 4,200 years ago. I think.

  • I'm so pissed I missed this comet. I was 7 and decided to play with lightning bugs instead.

  • The orbital period of this comet is 200 years, not 2500.

  • @Own2d The orbital period of this comet is 2533 years.. its a long period comet not a short ones..read the information facts i have provides here

  • @Own2d no no. Period 4390 years (info from Wikipedia)

  • Wow 2500 years LOL I am so glad I spent loads of time watching it. =D

  • @phillitupp lucky you not many had that chance...

  • @KurdstanPlanetarium

The funny part is that I knew it was a special moment, but I was only 12 years old and did not know takes 2500 years to orbit. I kept telling myself "Remember this remember this, don't forget what it looked like" I have not forgot, it is like a imprint in my mind. I tale end of the Comet was so beautiful, I feel sorry for people who missed it, forgot, was not born, or did not care to see it.

  • @phillitupp check out my other vidoe (Comet Hale Bopp close ecounter with Earth 1997) to see its orbital path that brought it so close to Earthin 97

  • @phillitupp Yeah i was like 7 or 8 when it happend we got it on a shitty home video haha

  • well, from earth to the around the sun again is only about 20 light years, and it will probably be back in 2061... maybe, maybe i'm thinking of halleys comet, but still i don't think it's 2000 years.

  • well MaheekuVideo: if you read the information of this video, its says its orbital period is between 2520 - 2533 years..so its wont be back for another 2500 years hence..

  • cant believe i missed this!!! IT WONT BE BACK FOR 2000 YEARS!

  • yes you are right its orbital period is 2530 years...

  • all animation. anyone seen or know where to find real video footage? tks.

  • It won't be around for another 2000 years. Halleys comet is more frequent but not as spectacular and doesn't last as long.

  • that's cool!
