@whiplashsmile73 you can get all the positions of the notes simply by following the D E F G A A# C#...Hope this helped....the other is just a chromatic scale run with maybe the alteration of not going 1-2-3-4 but 1-2-3-5(fingerwise...not so interesting)

@whiplashsmile73 first of all if i am not mistaken his guitar is tuned half step down(not an uncommon thing for slash) then i'd say it's a D harmonic minor...D E F G A A# C#...It starts on fret 13 on e string and goes 13(F)-12(E)-10(D)-9(C#)-12(E)-­10(D)-9(C#)-11(A# on b string)-10(D)-9(C#)-11(A# on b string)-10(A on b string) an so on....think of it as going 3 notes forward and two notes back.

Slash definitely has potential to do shredding (as indicated by the first thing he did), but he doesn't play metal, he plays hard rock, blues, etc...he perfect for that already.

And so what he didnt know the name of the scale, Jimi Hendrix couldn't read notes and that was 15 years before the advent of tab. The debate between technique and feel has been going on longer than most of us have been alive, it aint getting settled here.

A lot of people seem to b wanting to put slash down because he lacks "originality" or he is an "overrated puppet". OK i c where people get these ideas from but give him some credit. He has wrote some awesome riffs for some awesome songs of all time. Would G'n'R b the same without slash?.... well is it now? Slash is able to come up with parts that fit songs perfectly and when he solos they aren't big crazy over the top solos, they fit perfectly with the song and that is part of his guitar skill.
