hei, please make a video with the sound of it. it would help a lot because i want to buy that pickguard too and my strat is similar to yours...ok..mine is a hohner not a fender.there is any significant change in sound?are they good for metal?...thanks!
hey quick question would this fit on a squire? and i know squires have one or two less mounting holes for the pickguard but do you think that would be a problem?
Hi man, Saludos from south america, ecuador, i have a question, i´m really interested to buy this pickguard, but i would like that you tell me how sound this in clean withwout any distortion...? thnks for your answer...
so i've just ordered the "Area" prewired pickguard . .. i've never soldered before but i just bought a soldering iron kit from Radio Shack. i'm going for it? how hard do you think it will be to solder 3 wires? i assume it's 1 ground wire soldered to spring area and 2 wires to the input jack right?
so glad you posted this! I have the exact same strat and i was contemplating putting emgs in but i was thinking that will look like shit. Now that i see how badass it looks i think i will
So, where does the battery go? They give you the active jack for the 9v right? So, where does it go? Because if you have to remove the pickguard to change the battery, that'll be really annoying unless the battery lasts a LONG time.
how do i tell if my strat is a pre wired or not and - can i put an humbucker where a single coil goes on a fender squire strat.? ( i know quite a bit about guitars but not these particular things cause i usually dont customize my own. ) thanks - hayden
on squiers and fenders there is usually a humbucker route in the bridge sometimes the neck too its only on older models or reissues of older models i think fender doesn't make the humbucker route
Man...i'm not being a dick but you got a ton of gear for someone that old. That's pretty sweet. Hopefully your working for it all but if your folks are buying it all you should kiss their ass for the rest of your life!!!
Hi, this question might sound ignorant so please forgive me. I'm planning on putting this on my Squire Strat, the EMG site says that this is ready to mount on the guitar. Does this include the input jack or do you need to solder the pickguard to the input jack?
@COBHateCrewFinland dont scallop, i scalloped mine and i hate it ....or .... I HATE IT ... try it first ... i hate it so much that im going to buy a new neck XD .... but those pickups and a tube amp ... yh .... existencial !
hey umm my friend gave me his old squire guitar and well i want to put this same set in mine, umm you say its active so doe that mean i have to make a mod in my guitar or can i just install it?
When it comes time to replace the battery, do you have to take off the pickguard and change it, or did you do some kind of mod on the back to change it easier?
My strat has three single coils but space for a hum in the bridge in case you want to upgrade (Mexican standard as well)
Exitwound72 5 months ago
did you have to route out the space for the humbucker? or did you guitar already have a humbucker? im buying a mim strat but it has 3 single coils

so, could u put this or the hh configuration over top of a strat routed for sss?
rocknrolla12992 1 year ago
the single coils are passive but I have a question did u have to solder the output jack or you slide it through the hole then just screw it on
2346 1 year ago
@2346 no soldering, just slots in place lol
clanstead 1 year ago
so for the pickup selector toggle or standard 3 switch u just connect u don't solder?
2346 1 year ago
@2346 no you don't connect anything but the active output jack and the battery. everything else is done.

NazoFire 2 years ago
when you do this you have to make a new hole in the back and put a battery chamber in the back for a 9 volt plus the battery lasts 3000 hours so...

@NazoFire I stouck my battery in the tremelo cavity.

@guitaristhayden23 You might need to get different potentiometers. I'm not entirely sure.

BlackTide617 2 years ago
You de-solder the ground wire, and the old input jack, and out on the pickgurad, and solder the input jack that comes with it.
COBHateCrewFinland 2 years ago
@COBHateCrewFinland You don't solder anything with this set, they slot in lol.

@BlackTide617 emg kit is for around 350$, you can own a Godin or Jackson for 700 with 2 emg+your tele....
