Interesting video. I have never shot or owned a .17 caliber. Seems to me it would be sensitive to the wind. I wouldn't mind trying one though. I have a nice Marlin .22 WMR that owns anything within 175 yards!
If the ammo weren't so expensive compared to .22 LR, i would buy a savage bolt gun in .17 HM2.
But, since you don't seem to get a price break in the caliber drop, i'd be much more satisfied necking down a .223 cartridge to a .17 caliber bullet and getting the velocity boost out of that. The chambering wouldn't be hard to make, now that i think of it.
every one thinks because a .17 is such a small bullet it wont do any thing but ive killed hog's with my .17 and hit them in the chest ,and no they were'nt that small of hog's
buddy .17 is like a really powerful gun and this guy probably has it to just screw around with and .17 is like one of the top calibers in the world in my opion im refering this all to pappagazmo!

Not a safe shot, see the road behind the targets? What if someone was coming up that road? "Be sure of your target and what is behind it."

People like to jerk off to the .17 hmr. I grab my .22 mag almost every time over the hmr.

DeathAngel84299 2 years ago
i have a Marlin 17 HMR and it is wonderful. it is my favorite gun.
herox04 2 years ago
I had the savage, i think most 17's are just amazing
DeathAngel84299 2 years ago
dang if that's the .17hmr just picture a .17 rem fireball.
drewnickel 2 years ago
idk, at that point idk how much better shit could explode
DeathAngel84299 2 years ago
Wow, I'm still impressed with my 17, I haven't really had the chance to take it out other than zeroing the scope.
Using full metal Jackets 17 HMR really just obliterates its target.

they don't do real well in high winds, but otherwise our savage is a very accurate and powerful gun

I might do that. Youtube gives you ideas!

17.hmr bullets are almost worthless in high wind conditions thats why i chose a .22 =)

Some people kill varmints. This is a more accurate round then a 22mag, and does more damage.
whodank 3 years ago 6
Ha ha. Well thats a rather arrogant comment if ever i heard one.
When you consider what can be achieved with this caliber why would you choose another varmint caliber?
It has fast become a favoured and well respected caliber for varmint - small game!
You may want to browse a few forums on the HMR before you comment.

yeah smart shooting on hard ground.
wogboi07 4 years ago
true, not a great idea though the frangible nature of the bullets would mean that they would disintegrate instead of ricochet...
