In answer to your question - Should we jump at the chance to save 1 billion over 5 years in eliminating the death penalty? No.
I am a liberal Democrat Californian and I DO NOT believe the death penalty is there to deter crime, as you said. And if it is - screw that reason. The death penalty is there as the ultimate punishment. My tax $ will not pay for those monsters to live for the rest of their lives eating 3 meals and watching TV. They brutally killed someone, they should die to. Justice.
1) Since 1978, California has executed 13 inmates, there are hundreds more on death roe, 4 times more have died from other causes instead of execution.
2) Not all on death roe are guilty, around 10% average tend to be exonerated based upon new evidence despite being found guilty previously
3) Why not spend that billion dollars solving crimes that lack funding to be solved or on programs that would help the community as a whole which deters crime on it's own.
I don't give a fuck about some rich asshole building a house or some business on the ocean and I sure as hell do not give a fuck what it cost to kill some murdering cocksucker in the long run. I'll pay my taxes and hopefully the money is earmarked for these pricks to fight their multiple murder cases. They will not win and it's all orgasmatron to me. Let's watch them sweat it out on death row having false hope because they ultimately die in the end by needle, old age or hopefully by homicide!
@UnknownUserName4267 I can assure you with 100% confidence that not one of my family members will ever end up on death fucking row and if they did they got it coming. And if one of did they would accept their consequences and shit can their appeals and die honorably even though their deeds that got them there. America is what it is. Who the fuck am I to think I am all powerful and my opinion alone will change the laws and culture of an entire fuckin country unknown 4267? Arrogance is ignorance.
Let's compromise! My plan calls for us #1 keeping the death penalty. My rational is to the point: Some fuckers deserve to die. And #2 saving taxpayers close to a billion dollars by simply switching from fancy, high tech death machines to bullets. Some will argue that I am proposing moral regression. Quite the opposite. I'm actually proposing that this nation grow the fuck up and actually deal with douchebags that rape and kill our innocents. Have a wonderful day!
easily solved. just inject those child raping, murdering scumbags with cheap bleach or place a 1cent walmart plastic bag over their heads and watch those shitbags try and gasp one last breath as they suffocate like kittens tied up in a sack in a river
Once convicted, we need to immediately shoot them in the head with a small caliber handgun. Estimated cost of court, bullet, and executioner; < $7500 per violator depending on length and resources of trial. I also think the families of the violator should reimburse the victim's immediate family for emotional distress ASSUMING the degree of innocense by the victim. If its gang banger on gang banger then let one get murdered, and we will murder the other.
Slowly, people ARE starting to realize what Fox and other media outlets are all about... It's time for the News to be News again. 3 part solution: 1. Every channel must provide a 1 hour News program WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. 2. News programs should not be rated by any Ratings system. 3. All News Channels live by the same rules, but are "Pay TV" for revenues as opposed to advertising.
If we cut off some of the bullshit appeals, being the only reason it takes so long and cost so much for death row, we'd save even MORE money. Texas doesn't spend as much as Cali.
No it was not fair for Megyn Kelly to report that. I hate fox news and they are the worst about it but it seems to me that there are is no honest journalism anywhere these days. Every broadcast network has an agenda fox news is just way better at taking advantage of ignorance than everyone else.
@LiberalViewer I just wanted to say that while I agree that Fox misrepresented the reality of the situation by a very large margin, and that they would never mention eliminating the death penalty as a viable option, you really kinda mixed in two different issues into this video. You open yourself up to criticism by declaring the D-P immoral, thus drawing attention away from the primary arguments, that Fox is misrepresenting the situation, and that the death penalty is an expensive process.
It is terrible to say... but if I did something so terrible that I would be put as a candidate for death row.... for me that would be the easy way out as a pose to spending life in prison.
Once you kill someone who is incarcerated you then have to kill the people who killed the prisoner, then kill those who killed those who killed the prisoner, and so on and so on, just cause your paid by the government to murder doesn't alter the fact that all killers are pond scum, however they try to justify their actions.
@BraniusBalki : actually, the crime they are being punished for is "murder". The death penalty is "killing" them (which can be done in express lane fashion saving a lot of taxpayer money) not "murdering" them. There is a difference, since this "killing" is just. I'm just sayin'. Also, all the fancy equipment to help them "go to sleep" costs a lot of money, a good bullet costs 45 cents. ;-)
@Viper69551 So in theory if a bullet cost $50 dollars you would probably have a lot less murders, or a lot more murders with knives and axes and such.
@BBPatterson12 because all the activist progressive layers bleed the system for billions of dollars filing 30 yrs worth of appeals trying to save the monsters. after they have the death penalty abolished in order to insure job security for themselves then they will try to abolish life imprisonment citing the same arguments.
@psyhobill5150 claimed the death penalty costs so much "because all the activist progressive layers bleed the system for billions of dollars filing 30 yrs worth of appeals trying to save the monsters"
In fact, The CCFAJ found that to make the death penalty system operate more efficiently would require MORE funding for competent defense and prosecution counsel and for the courts which would cost the state $95 million per year MORE than the current $137 million CA spends
@LiberalViewer all the millions of excuses for saving these bastards are all bullshit! its evil and disrespectful to the victims and their families to waste one dime one ounce of food or let them live an extra minute and you should be ashamed of yourself.
your from the bay area, so im sure your very familiar with the ng case. when his time was up in canada. the parliament held an emergency session on wether to extradite him or not. some members voted against it. im sure you would let him stay.
@psyhobill5150 You are assuming that every convicted murderer is guilty.
I seem to remember when the Moratorium on the death penalty was in place, there was a commission set up to re-examine all the cases of death row occupants. although it didn't examine all of of them, it came to the conclusion, based on what they had found out, that nearly 20% of all convicted mudrerers were possibly innocent when first convicted. That's why they have the appeals. Or would you prefer not to bother?
@psyhobill5150 lol u would feel very differently about the appeals system if u were on death row. The justice system isnt always right. try not being to nieve
@LiberalViewer I will start by saying that I strongly disagree with Fox's message and consider myself more liberal than any other orientation, but I believe that it only costs twelve cents to put someone to death. Twelve cents being the cost of a 9x19mm round administered to the brain of said person.
Not trying to criticize, just an honest question on my part- how is it possible to save money by sustaining someone's life rather than just getting rid of them?
@MissJupitersworld wrote: "how is it possible to save money by sustaining someone's life rather than just getting rid of them?"
Death penalty trials cost about $1.1 million more than trials for permanent imprisonment. Death row costs at least $90,000 more per inmate per year than regular prison housing. The CCFAJ found in total the death penalty costs CA $137 million/year whereas permanent imprisonment for all those currently on death row would cost just $11 million/year.
@LiberalViewer hey man i saw this clip about american prison facts that i thought you would find interesting it's about american prisons re-inveting slavery
No. It costs more to keep them alive for a lifetime I would figure. Sounds like California could use the Wal Mart approach to killing more cheapily. Maybe I'm a conservative on this issue. I dunno. But man. THere are some sick fuckers who need to die. I'm not sorry for thinking that. I'm not gonna jeapordize my life for some scumbag's.
Point being redirecting money towards longer sentences/treatment and more police on our streets. Most importantly getting parents involved with their kids and fixing our education system will make the biggest dents in crime. Having a culture that simply follows an "eye for an eye" mentality will never evolve past basic animal behavior.
Setting all that aside if you are any sort of christian then "love your enemy, forgive infinitely, and turn the other cheek come to mind."
anti death penalty activist like liberal viewer dont give a damn about the victims or their families. proof of this is the website "ccadp" which provides websites for the worst cocksuckers that the human race has produced and 90% of them get on there and tell you what swell upstanding people they are. i imagine seeing a website of some jerk murdered your daughter would be damn painful. do the commie activist care??.........fuck no!!!!!
@LiberalViewer the reason why the death penalty is costly and ineffective is because you and the aclu.
if the death penalty was absolutely abolished then you and the aclu's next campaign would be to abolish life without parole sentences. arguing that it is costly, ineffective, inhumane, makes us look barbaric, etc.etc.
@psyhobill5150 wrote: "if the death penalty was absolutely abolished then you and the aclu's next campaign would be to abolish life without parole sentences."
The ACLU is on record IN FAVOR of permanent imprisonment to punish 1st degree murder. So you're wrong to claim the ACLU is against permanent imprisonment and wrong to claim the ACLU doesn't care about victims' families. You oppose the ACLU based on misinformation.
I hope that helps clear up your misunderstanding and
I was just thinking if death penalty is wrong , why is life without parole any diffrent?
Im not saying that death penalty is correct , but i don`t see why life without the chance of parole is any diffrent. Is prison realy a place to live out the rest of ur life? And do u not thing its possible for a human to change over time? In my country we have a maximum 21 years prison time. And we have one of the lowest kill rates in the world. Why woud this not work in usa ?
@psyhobill5150 IMO, the reason that "anti death penalty activist('s)" are against the death penalty and for life-without-parole sentences is for instances like this:
@PaulinaPaulino what about the killers who get free to kill again??
there are lots of people who kill with impunity in this country. those people would start to think twice if they faced a swift execution. the way it stands now, the worst they get are three hots and a cot. thats probably a better life than some third world countries.
@psyhobill5150 So you believe the answer to the failure to arrest people who have committed murder is to execute innocent people? Or are you saying that Executions are a deterrent to people doing it in the first place? Because if the latter is your opinion, I dare you to cite ONE EXAMPLE where this is true. Here is a website that has the facts- read it and then come back and say you are sorry cause you did not have the information.
@PaulinaPaulino yes execution WOULD be a deterrent. of course i cant cite an example because the death penalty isnt implemented in this country. someone on death row for thirty years is hardly a deterrent. cut that number to thirty days and we would start seeing results.
@psyhobill5150 The results you would see is more innocent people being executed. However, if that is your goal, then you would indeed be seeing positive results.
@psyhobill5150 So,I take the time to direct you to a website called "CAPITAL PUNISHMENT-THE DEATH PENALTY Support and opposition".I assume you went there and read it, and in spite of the evidence you come back here and say "execution WOULD be a deterrent. of course i cant cite an example..."So, you read where 1+1=2, you decide to ignore the facts, and then you come back here and say 1+1=3 with no supporting evidence, and you want people to take you seriously after you make up your own facts.
@PaulinaPaulino you have no proof that it isnt a deterrent other than a bunch of communist/activist propaganda. look paula go to 'charles ng ccadp.com' and read his page. then go read what the jerk actually did. then tell me that jerk and the thousands more like him deserve to live. i say fuck all that commie bleeding heart bullshit and fry the bastards!!!!!!!!!! fry em quick!!!!!!!!
@psyhobill5150 I am glad that you think that a group called "Religious Tolerance" is "a bunch of communist/activist propaganda".
Your website is for Charles Ng, a serial killer. Ng is a maniac, and murdered between 11 and 25 people in California. He tortured his victims.
Are you saying that if Ng thought he would be put to death (which is indeed his sentence) that he may have thought twice about committing those acts? I say he is a psycho who would have done them anyway.
@PaulinaPaulino im saying his evil butt and the other assholes like him should be executed yesterday. its a form of evil to show any, any, any compassion for people like him whatsoever.
@psyhobill5150 While I am not disagreeing with you I will continue to ask, what happens if the courts get it wrong? Don't say it can't happen, because it HAS. And I would hate to see you or a member of your family executed for something you did not do.
@PaulinaPaulino i have faith in our system. i feel it would be a greater negative to our society to give all the other sickos a free pass because of the ultra ultra low chance of a mistake. there are all sorts of wrongfully convicted criminals does that mean we should release everyone from prison? also what about the klllers who get released and kill again?? also what about the pot smoker who gets killed because hes in the same cell as a sadistic killer who just got a life sentence??
@PaulinaPaulino its very simple. if some jerk gets his jollies torturing, fucking and killing little kids you fry the turd quickly and permanently. thats a deterrent and justice has been served and the prick will never ever harm anyone(in jail or out) ever again.
@PaulinaPaulino i already answered that. what about the killers who get released and kill again? also what about the pot smoker who gets killed because hes in the same cell as a sadistic killer who has nothing to lose because hes just been given a 'life without' sentence??
@psyhobill5150 Then you have decided which society you want to live in. Welcome to Russia. And if that is the way you wish to live, I no longer wish to speak to you.
@Viper69551 the point is, as long as these jerks are breathing theres a chance that they will kill again. and they often do but the activist completely ignore that fact. further proof that they have no concern for anyone(victims families, regular citizens) except the killers. all you have to do is google somebody's name whos on death row and read what they did and its always horrible.
@psyhobill5150 This would be fine if execution was indeed a deterrent, however, every study done on it says it is not. I assume you will do your homework and the next time you reply you will be able to quote your documented proof.
california would save a lot of money if cock suking, bleeding heart, commie progressives like liberalviewer would stop tying the legal systems hands and just execute these monsters. those jerks on death row dont deserve to be fed or get legal council for the rest of there lives. fuck paying for pieces of shit like Charles Ng to exist!!!!!!!!! fry the cock suckers and fry em quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@psyhobill5150 Human beings aren't perfect, In the system you propose it would be inevitable that innocent people would be executed. Hell innocent people are still in prison today waiting for the appeals process. If you take those safe guards out them the general population will be responsible for murder and by your standards all of us should then be fried.
@lftlitm you argument about innocent people being put to death is invalid. nobody on death row is innocent. what about convicted killers like "mcduff the broomstick killer" that get released and kill again? that blood is on people like you and liberalviewers hands.
@psyhobill5150 "nobody on death row is innocent." lol I bow to your godly knowledge that absolutely no one on death row is innocent. Had I known that you had personally reviewed every case and using your vast wisdom found every single case was handled perfectly I would never have made the argument that our system isn't perfect or that there would be an increased chance for an innocent person being put to death.
Fact is people have been found innocent years later as technology improves.
@psyhobill5150 If you support killing, you're no better than the murderers themselves. And here's an inreresting fact: States in US that use death penalty have higher murder rates than non-death penalty states. And USA has higher murder rates compared to other developed countries that don't use death penalty. You want those dangerous criminals out, I get it. But you fail to see that killing them is simply not an answer. Studies have shown that death penalty itself makes society more violent
@TheRyder89 i support justice and if some jerk like dennis rader gets his jollies by binding, raping, torturing and killing little kids, that fuckers gotta go!! no if's and's or but's. those statistics you give mean nothing because the death penalty is rarely used if ever. remember that lots of killers get released and kill again but the activist groups never mention that. and heres and interesting fact: the countrys without the death penalty have the highest murder rates. do a wiki search on it.
@psyhobill5150 Well, no. That simply isn't true. You just made that up, completely. USA's murder rates are multible times higher than any other developed country that doesn't use death penalty. I HAVE done my research. And most of these murderers never get a death penalty. Over 10,000 murders are commited/year in US but only 40-50 people get death penalty/year. It doesn't make the society any safer.
@TheRyder89 you trying to tell me that the us has a higher murder rate than mexico?? i think you need to do some research because the murder rates in central and south america along with south africa are sky high and none of those nations have the death penalty. the usa dosent count because the death penalty is rarely used if ever, even in texas. your argument is invalid.
@psyhobill5150 What? Death penalty is rarely used in US? There were 52 people executed in US last year only! That's one person/week. And I was talking about developed countries, Mexico isn't one of them. Of course countries like Saudi Arabia or Zimbabwe have higher murder rates but it doesn't have anything to do with death penalty. Or those Central or South American nations. I was talking about western and northern European countries, Canada and Australia. The other developed nations.
@psyhobill5150 If all you can say is that we're better than a country over run with drug cartels then that is pretty sad. Simple fact is no matter how high to set the penalty for a crime people will still commit that crime. People who are rational tend not to commit crimes people who fly off the handle or have serious issues tend to commit crimes and they are not the sort of people to think rationally and ask the question "what is the penalty if I do this" they just do it without thinking.
@lftlitm i never said or implied we were better. i simply stated that the countrys with the highest murder rates are ones that dont have the death penalty.
the death penalty is simple: if you go out and torture and kill little kids for fun. you going to get fried. that says to society that life is valuable and anyone who takes it will be dealt with seriously.
if society takes away the death penalty. then what society is saying is that murder isnt that big of a deal.
@psyhobill5150 No, it's not saying that. Of course murder is always a big deal. Are you saying that those 95 countries that have abolished it don't think murder is a big deal? And when you're saying that the countries with highest murder rates don't use death penalty doesn't mean anything. There's no connection, these countries have highest murder rates because they've got so many other problems and they're developing countries.
@TheRyder89 yes it does. by eliminating capital punishment you eliminate murder as a capital offense therefore diminishing its severity. when society diminishes the severity of heinous crimes it places a lower value on human life.
@psyhobill5150 So basically you're saying that KILLING them places a higher value on human life??? Are you listening yourself? That's one of the stupidest things I've heard in quite a while. When the society kills its own citizens, it places a lower value on human life, obviously! Come on...are you kidding me? Why do you think most of those countries without death penalty explain the lack of it by placing a high value on human life?
@TheRyder89 yes! it places value on life in in a clear and proper perspective. you guys with your misplaced compassion for people like fred west convolute value. people like fred west deserve nothing but death and they should get it quickly.
"he who is compassionate to the cruel will inevitably become cruel to the compassionate"~ Ancient Midrash.
people like you and liberal viewer make that proverb ring true when i see you guys fighting for people like fred west and ted bundy
@psyhobill5150 I really don't understand how killing someone would place a higher value on human life.In some countries, you get death penalty just for mutiny(Botswana), drug trafficking(Egypt, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh...), outrages against constitution(Ethiopia),Adultery(Somalia), Prositution(Sudan), Weapons possession(Sudan, Malaysia). In China, you get death penalty just for piracy or theft. In Iran, Yemen and Mauritania you get killed just for being gay.Does that place a high value on human life?
@TheRyder89 charles ng and his buddy leonard lake sadistically murdered a bunch of women and children in california. when the cops were hot on his ass, he fled to canada. there he committed a crime and got himself intentionally thrown in jail so he he wouldnt have to face the death penalty here in the the us. after his penalty was up, (canada has a no extradition policy for people who face death sentences in other countrys) the canadian parliament had to hold an emergency session to determine
@TheRyder89 cont: weather to extradite Ng or to let him roam free on the streets of canada.
i guarantee if you and liberalviewer were members of parliament that day you would have let ng go free and become a citizen rather than extradite him to a country that has 'quasi' capital punishment.
@psyhobill5150 So killing him is the answer? People like you are not much better than the murderers themselves. You both prefer killing. And what you fail to see is that it simply doesn't reduce crime. It's actually the opposite: murder rate in the states without death penalty has remained consistently lower than the rate in states with the death penalty, and the gap has grown since 1990. It increases the murders Which one is worse? To have one murderer walk out free or to create three more?
@TheRyder89 yes killing sadistic killers is the only answer. your logic of saying im no different than the killers is ridiculous, moronic, scary and offensive to decent people and victims families but like i said before people like you have no concern for victims families. what the hell would you do if someone was in the act of murdering your mother? would you sit there and think about the ethics of killing the bastard? or would you handle your business and save your mothers life?
@TheRyder89 and that bull about the death penalty being responsible for rises in murder is complete bullshit and the thing about innocent people getting the death sentence is bullshit also. but using your logic why not just have every person released from jail because a couple innocent people have been sentenced to jail?
fuck all that bleeding heart commie progressive bullshit and fry the cock suckers!!!
@psyhobill5150 No it's not bullshit. Since 1973, over 130 people have been released from death rows throughout the country due to evidence of their wrongful convictions. In 2003 alone, 10 wrongfully convicted defendants were released from death row. It's happening all the time. You're asking me what would I do if my mom was about to get killed. What would you do if your mom was about to get death penalty as a innocent person?
@TheRyder89 just because they were released dosent mean that they were innocent. after all wasnt O.J. declared innocent? i dont have to worry about my mom being wrongfully convicted either. what about killers that get released and klll again like lawrence singleton or mcduff the broomstick killer? btw every body in jail is innocent. just ask them they will tell you so. also what about the drunk driver who gets killed because hes in the same cell as the sadistic blood thirsty killer?
@psyhobill5150 And to answer your question, of course I'd defend my mom even if I had to kill the person who's about to kill my mom. But that's different. In that case I'm defending her, I wouldn't have any other choise. But when it comes to death penalty there's another choise. It's called jail. And to be honest with you, I can't say for sure that death penalty would be the reason for high murder rates, but it surely doesn't reduce those rates either.
@TheRyder89 but in the case of the sadistic killer like ted bundy, by sentencing him to swift justice(death) you are defending the victims families and as far as im concerned they always come first. like you said statistics can be analyzed many different ways and its almost impossible to rely on them especially in complex social issues. but i believe in this country if they were to swiftly fry the jerks that really deserve it the rates would fall. its just morally wrong to spare some people.
@psyhobill5150 According to your moral. The way I see it, it's NEVER justified to kill a human being. Even Bundy. Personal pain is not good enough reason to kill a human as much as it feels like it to the victim's families. And most of those innocent people got released because they were PROVED to be innocent, with DNA testings for instance. If you wanna believe that only the worst of the worst people get death penalty then that's your choise. "Eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" -Ghandi
@psyhobill5150 This is much more complicated issue than just "well, if we kill them, at least then they can't hurt anybody anymore". That's the simple way you death penalty supporters like to think. You don't really like statistics or numbers because they're against you. You hate facts like death penalty failing to reduce crime. You're just filled with emotions. Why are you not emotional about the innocent people getting death penalty?
@psyhobill5150 Countries with lowest murder rates are Switzerland and Norway who don't use death penalty.Countries with highest murder rates, Jamaica, Lesotho, Swaziland etc. do use death penalty. Then again S Africa doesn't use it but has high murder rates. So, it doesn't make sense if you try to explain how some DEVELOPING countries have high murder rates because they don't kill their citizens. These countries are at the top regardless of whether or not they use death penalty.
@psyhobill5150 It's not really smart to compare US to 3.world nations. In its own group, "the DEVELOPED, 1.world nations", USA has the highests murder rates.
if the dna is a positive match with the killer and victim then execute them within the first year. This will save money and make the majority of Americans happy that justice has been served.
It takes nearly 25 years to execute someone in CA, by that time most prisoners die or commit suicide. Im only for death penalty for worst of worst offenders, such as terrorism, treason, mass murder, torture/murder.
The ACLU is a reliable source of info. Lets take that at face value ...Perhaps you could lool at liberal bias in the other networks. (yes I will agree that Fox has a bias to the right)
Much of our normal media problems stems from the "sound bite" driven listener/viewer. Services you and others are providing here on Youtube and elsewhere are, I think, more responsible for bridging the information deficiencies brought on by such practices. This goes for both the liberal bias as well as conservative ones.
As an anti-war conservative and rather libertarian leaning citizen who sides with individuals and their rights over the groupthink of collectivist liberalism I stand for truth!
I think the Death Penalty is the greatest thing to happen tot he Justice System. The problem is that it doesn't happen often enough. What I don't understand is how expensive it can be to execute someone. How hard is it to to take a convicted criminal out back have them dig their own grave and pop them in the back of the head with a .45?? If they can reduce cost for the Death Penalty then I would love to see more criminals executed.
@Patsun9 clearly you haven't done your research. The DP is MUCH more expensive than life imprisonment because you have to pay for longer trials, more pre-trial motions, longer jury selection, more defense attorneys, more witnesses, etc and 15-20 years of appeals, and these are all necessary costs because of all the people released from death row with evidence of their innocence, which now totals 138. These facts and more are why it's much more practical to just stick them to life imprisonment.
@Patsun9 Actually you haven't done your research. it cost more for taxpayers to execute for them for life than life in prison like headhunter says. Often people get convicted on flimsy evidence in our so-called "justice" system, which has resulted in a TON of wrongful convictions and innocents executed. i mean no offense it's funny USA condemned Iran and China for using death penalty except you guys still have the DP in the western world. The irony.
@publicmario17 iran STONES women to death...not for murder. but for being the victim of a rape. if a woman is raped in iran it is considered ADULTERY and she will be stoned to death. so the husband wont lose "honor" the only way she can be exhonorated is if four MEN witnessed the rape AND testified on her behalf...which is impossible cause if they witnessed the rape they were probably apart of it. or they could of done something about it. muslims are filthy animals
@markbotv3 you started with iran and you ended off with muslims are filthy animals. so when american soldiers gang rape innocent girls as well as their own fellow female soldiers it must mean that americans are filthy animals. and since most well known serial killers are american then Americans must also be inhumane beasts. thanks for clarifying it. so the acts of a few reflect accurately on the masses. no wonder everyone hates america
@vinoa ya i saw that "american gang rape" video and its not american soldiers. they are wearing lithuanian uniforms. and we CAPTURE and EXECUTE more serial rapists because our police force is superior to any in the world. the most prolific serial killer in the world was a russian who had a confirmed 214 murders. and who knows how many un confirmed. you must love sucking muslim dick if you defend those fucktards. ya everyone "hates" usa thats why you filthy fuckers come here in droves.
@markbotv3 do you realize how ignorant you sound. your police force is superior to any in the world. you fill yourself with hate while you are just as much a bitch as any one else in this free wrold. and no it was not lithuanian soldiers who raped an american soldier it was your own kind. unless you guys are in the business of trying lithuanians in your military courts it must have been americans. you bring up one mullah as a way of proving how all muslims are bad. and sharia law when practiced
@vinoa then you will have to tell me which case you are talking about. but if they were "tried and convicted" that means the bad guys were hunted down and dealt with then huh? see BEST POLICE FORCE IN THE WORLD. and yes we can try lithuanians in our courts if it happens on our soil.
@markbotv3 properly much like any laws there are no problems. people are fucked up no doubt. im sure that russian serial killer wasnt a muslim but does that mean all russians or christians are serial killers. you should go live in muslim countries where american foreign policy has had a detrimental affect before you tell me to. stop hating based on creed and skin. its ignorance like that which keeps us blinded to the truth. wake up to your governments bs before its too late boss
@vinoa sharia law is written that if YOU as a woman are raped. that is to say FORCED to have sex AGAINST your will. it is the WOMANS fault. she was dressed improperly or was seducing the men. the men are NEVER to blame for a rape. if you dont believe me look it up. and because she was the "instigator" of the rape if any of the men are married she will be tried and convicted of adultery and stoned to death. the woman is to blame because of eves corruption of adam. that is stupid scary shit
@vinoa lol you are scared shitless to move to a muslim country huh? because you KNOW you will be treated like garbage.
a couple of years ago we sold a store to a muslim and my regional manager was a woman and the guy refused to talk to her about anything business. he would ask me a question. and i would have to ask her and she would tell me and i would tell him. every time she spoke he would spit on the ground. IN THE STORE. needless to say she was pissed off.
@vinoa oh but wait...THERES MWORE!!! (scream refference not a typo) when a woman gets traded off in a muslim country (married women have no choice who they get married to) they get their clitoris cut off. so that they wont be tempted to cheat on their husband. sex is for the mans pleasure not hers in marriage. and of course the piece de resistance. if she does even the slightes embarasing thing that would cause shame to the family (burning a roast) she gets acid thrown in her face
@markbotv3 i am going to end this so called debate because it is evident that you are a bigot who will never change their opinion regardless of the facts. for anyone else reading your garbage i want to say just go and research for yourself instead of listening to this idiotic speculation. he is just one of the ignorant americans who give the rest of them a bad name, i sure hope the rest of you are not as thick headed
@vinoa you should ask that girl they just released from iran. she WAS a liberal who thought "america is just mean surly muslims arent as bad as they say they are...lets cross their border and lavish in the muslim hospitality" lol. she is a believer NOW
@markbotv3 she was too dumb to know the difference between iraq and iran and besides what the fuck is she doing hiking in a war torn country. shows you just how arrogant Americans are
@vinoa correction how arrogant LIBERAL americans are. lol conservatives tried to talk some sense into them. but of course they would not listen and they did what they were going to do when they were going to do it cause a liberal wants what she wants and she wants what she wants when she wants it. obama is no different. he actually thinks he can bring peace to the middle east just by saying so. true arrogance there
@markbotv3 wow so you actually believe in all that bs about liberal and conservative ideologies. you know what, @ the end of the day they are all the same people, families, corporations, etc working together to keep your country divided. take a good hard look @ the state of your countries. check the policies of the dems and republicans. it is all the same bs, different colour package
@vinoa thank god for the tea party revolution. kick all the encumbants out. democrat and republican. without the career politicians their will be little to no corruption. no more dynastys. term limits. smaller CHEAPER more effective govt. abolish welfare and entitlements. put an m-16 in every house. and reduce the police force to one sherrif and one deputy per county. the national debt would be paid in two years and crime would plummet.
@nicolaswirth hell yes im being serious. that family in conneticuit. that was raped and then burned alive was kidnaped by bb guns...FUCKING BB GUNS!!! if the dad was required to own and maintain a fully automatic fire arm. he would of A. been familiar with firearms and recognized a bb gun when he saw it. and B. been able to return fire at 700rpm. criminals wouldnt stand a chance against armed law abiding citizens. crime would cease to exist.
@vinoa wait a min did you say "the actions of a few?" what i described in that post was SHARIA LAW. that is not the "actions of a few" it is the state LAW. women have no rights in muslim nations. the state run religion views women as disposable cum dumpsters. one mullah even suggested that the burka was "too revealing" he suggested they cover at least one eye. lol a burka TOO REVEALING?!?!?!? that is insanity. you should move to a muslim nation and see for yourself before you start judging
What people forget about sentencing someone to life in prison without parole is that it's the exact same as the death penalty but instead of them getting the easy way out they're living a minimal existence until the day they naturally die, in prison. I'm not for the death penalty I would rather them live out their days until die naturally.
If you are "concerned" about the dericits in Calif your concerns are misguided. How about the prison guards , the firemen , the police who retire at 100k per year at age 50 (as of 1-1-2010 there were 15,000 public sector pensions over 100k per year).Fine sell san quenten it will do nothing to solve the structural deficit in calif. The public employee unions are going to need to eat some crow if we are to solve the fiscal problems of calif.
No, no way. People who kill and when proof is basically 100% then they criminal should die, you cant put a price on it. And I cant understand how it would be more expensive to kill them than to keep them. I imagine there is something else you could do to cut the cost of them.
@BobCassidy it costs a lot more because, like I said in my previous post, you have to pay for more witnesses, longer trials, more pre-trial motions, more defense lawyers, longer jury selection, etc and for all the appeals that they're entitled to. Also, they should be handed out "when proof is 100%"? Too bad that's NOT the case; TOO OFTEN people get convicted on flimsy evidence in our so-called "justice" system, which has resulted in a TON of wrongful convictions and innocents executed.
I was always under the impression that execution was cheaper than life imprisonment. Anyone know where the info is on the actual cost of death vs life imprisonment?
@Slipknotyk06 Wouldn't tidal power generators, geothermal energy, and solar panels be a more sustainable solution to natural gas & oil exploration in their oceans. They're sitting on the Volcanic Ring of Fire.
@SJT9791 - It's not about sustainability, it's about jobs.
Also, the Sierra Club have already blocked the installation of Solar plants in the Mojave, and tidal power generators. Plus, the value of the coastal properties is too high, and the coast is a good portion of California's economy they're not going to do tidal generators.
Natural Gas and Oil Exploration will create more jobs that can be sustained far into the future for California.
I could get elected once in Cali, but I probably couldn't get re-elected. I'd be like Montgomery Burns, I'd let the environmental activists in my office, hear them out, then coolly mutter "Smithers, release the hounds"
I'd also repeal Cali emissions standards, which would cut the cost of registration of vehicles in half, and cut the cost of used vehicles. I'd do what I could to decrease overhead costs to bring back tech jobs. I'd regulate unions, forcing them to allow their workers to opt out of allowing their dues to go to political lobbyists and allowing them to choose which party receives the support from their dues.
@Slipknotyk06 ya im not usually for govt regulation. but unions are way out of controll. they need to be reigned in somthing fierce. 40% of union members vote republican on the gun issue alone. and the unions want to get rid of secret ballots.
@markbotv3 - Ok, maybe a little more regulation than I expected is necessary.
All ballots in businesses should not have a name attached to them, regardless of whether or not they're represented by a Union.
Most liberals don't understand Card Check. Everyone has the right to vote whether or not they want to unionize. However, if the majority does choose, it's forced on the minority. Card Check allows both employees and union reps to harass that minority, often with threats of violence.
The reason you dislike the death penality is because it creates distinctions amongst men, which as a leftist, grates against your infatuation with the concept of 'everyone is equal'. People are not equal. If you cannot deduce differences between people, if you cannot evaluate the merits of peoples actions, and if you cannot recognise the validity of correspondingly differential treatment, then you are insane. But thats not it is it? You ENJOY deliberately obfuscating proper thought.
By the same logic, we could save money by getting rid of prisons. We could also save money by reducing the police force, and not issing officers with guns. Besides all those arrests are caused by racism, and all the crimes by poverty, aren't they, leftist? The purpose of leftism is to maximize the rate of social degeneration.
You make a very.... aggressive arguement against 'leftism'. But can you not see any rightism ways to make better use of $1 billion than executing criminals? Maybe tax cuts? More police?
The cost analysis was death vs life imprisonment, so either way the criminal is permanently removed from society.
@jacevicki Simply put, it should not cost $1B. There is no reason for all of the inflated legal and medical costs involved. If they are found guilty, and the sentence is death, there should not be any difference in cost for appealing etc than there would be for life imprisonment. And life imprisonment for these people is immoral, since it means that (no matter how little it costs), society is carrying the burden of feeding and keeping alive monsters.
@tothemax01 I certainly agree that it shouldn't cost $1b. Kinda makes you envy China's system of take him out back, shoot him, and bill his estate for the bullet. $400m on a gas chamber is a waste of money, even if you support the death penalty imo. The problem is people on life don't fight in court as much as people on death, and it ends up being cheaper to feed the monster until he dies on his own. Counterintuitive, but unfortunately true.
Justice.
mikitavi 2 weeks ago
@mikitavi

All News Channels live by the same rules, but are "Pay TV" for revenues as opposed to advertising.

Once you kill someone who is incarcerated you then have to kill the people who killed the prisoner, then kill those who killed those who killed the prisoner, and so on and so on, just cause your paid by the government to murder doesn't alter the fact that all killers are pond scum, however they try to justify their actions.
BraniusBalki 1 year ago
@BraniusBalki : actually, the crime they are being punished for is "murder". The death penalty is "killing" them (which can be done in express lane fashion saving a lot of taxpayer money) not "murdering" them. There is a difference, since this "killing" is just. I'm just sayin'. Also, all the fancy equipment to help them "go to sleep" costs a lot of money, a good bullet costs 45 cents. ;-)

@BBPatterson12 because all the activist progressive layers bleed the system for billions of dollars filing 30 yrs worth of appeals trying to save the monsters. after they have the death penalty abolished in order to insure job security for themselves then they will try to abolish life imprisonment citing the same arguments.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 claimed the death penalty costs so much "because all the activist progressive layers bleed the system for billions of dollars filing 30 yrs worth of appeals trying to save the monsters"
In fact, The CCFAJ found that to make the death penalty system operate more efficiently would require MORE funding for competent defense and prosecution counsel and for the courts which would cost the state $95 million per year MORE than the current $137 million CA spends

@LiberalViewer I will start by saying that I strongly disagree with Fox's message and consider myself more liberal than any other orientation, but I believe that it only costs twelve cents to put someone to death.

Also, check out the website of the group "California Crime Victims for Alternative to the Death Penalty"

@LiberalViewer the reason why the death penalty is costly and ineffective is because you and the aclu.

@PaulinaPaulino what about the killers who get free to kill again??
there are lots of people who kill with impunity in this country. those people would start to think twice if they faced a swift execution. the way it stands now, the worst they get are three hots and a cot. thats probably a better life than some third world countries.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 So you believe the answer to the failure to arrest people who have committed murder is to execute innocent people? Or are you saying that Executions are a deterrent to people doing it in the first place? Because if the latter is your opinion, I dare you to cite ONE EXAMPLE where this is true. Here is a website that has the facts- read it and then come back and say you are sorry cause you did not have the information.
religioustolerance(DOT)org/execut4.htm
PaulinaPaulino 1 year ago
@PaulinaPaulino yes execution WOULD be a deterrent. of course i cant cite an example because the death penalty isnt implemented in this country. someone on death row for thirty years is hardly a deterrent. cut that number to thirty days and we would start seeing results.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 The results you would see is more innocent people being executed. However, if that is your goal, then you would indeed be seeing positive results.

PaulinaPaulino 1 year ago
@PaulinaPaulino you have no proof that it isnt a deterrent other than a bunch of communist/activist propaganda. look paula go to 'charles ng ccadp.com' and read his page. then go read what the jerk actually did. then tell me that jerk and the thousands more like him deserve to live. i say fuck all that commie bleeding heart bullshit and fry the bastards!!!!!!!!!! fry em quick!!!!!!!!

@PaulinaPaulino i have faith in our system. i feel it would be a greater negative to our society to give all the other sickos a free pass because of the ultra ultra low chance of a mistake. there are all sorts of wrongfully convicted criminals does that mean we should release everyone from prison? also what about the klllers who get released and kill again?? also what about the pot smoker who gets killed because hes in the same cell as a sadistic killer who just got a life sentence??
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 When I was young I was told something that stuck with me til this day.
Given 100 people, in Russia, they would rather kill 99 people to make sure that the 1 guilty one is punished.
In the US we would rather let 99 people go free rather than wrongly punish 1.
THAT is the difference between our 2 societies.
Think about that.
PaulinaPaulino 1 year ago
@PaulinaPaulino its very simple. if some jerk gets his jollies torturing, fucking and killing little kids you fry the turd quickly and permanently. thats a deterrent and justice has been served and the prick will never ever harm anyone(in jail or out) ever again.

Had I known that you had personally reviewed every case and using your vast wisdom found every single case was handled perfectly I would never have made the argument that our system isn't perfect or that there would be an increased chance for an innocent person being put to death.
Fact is people have been found innocent years later as technology improves.
lftlitm 1 year ago
@lftlitm what about all the killers who get released and kill again? thats what you support!
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 If you support killing, you're no better than the murderers themselves. And here's an inreresting fact: States in US that use death penalty have higher murder rates than non-death penalty states. And USA has higher murder rates compared to other developed countries that don't use death penalty. You want those dangerous criminals out, I get it. But you fail to see that killing them is simply not an answer. Studies have shown that death penalty itself makes society more violent
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 i support justice and if some jerk like dennis rader gets his jollies by binding, raping, torturing and killing little kids, that fuckers gotta go!! no if's and's or but's. those statistics you give mean nothing because the death penalty is rarely used if ever. remember that lots of killers get released and kill again but the activist groups never mention that. and heres and interesting fact: the countrys without the death penalty have the highest murder rates. do a wiki search on it.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 Well, no. That simply isn't true. You just made that up, completely. USA's murder rates are multible times higher than any other developed country that doesn't use death penalty. I HAVE done my research. And most of these murderers never get a death penalty. Over 10,000 murders are commited/year in US but only 40-50 people get death penalty/year. It doesn't make the society any safer.
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 you trying to tell me that the us has a higher murder rate than mexico?? i think you need to do some research because the murder rates in central and south america along with south africa are sky high and none of those nations have the death penalty. the usa dosent count because the death penalty is rarely used if ever, even in texas. your argument is invalid.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 What? Death penalty is rarely used in US? There were 52 people executed in US last year only! That's one person/week. And I was talking about developed countries, Mexico isn't one of them. Of course countries like Saudi Arabia or Zimbabwe have higher murder rates but it doesn't have anything to do with death penalty. Or those Central or South American nations. I was talking about western and northern European countries, Canada and Australia. The other developed nations.
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 well 52 is a good start. i bet if they executed everyone on death row in the next 30 days the murder rates would drop substantially.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 If all you can say is that we're better than a country over run with drug cartels then that is pretty sad. Simple fact is no matter how high to set the penalty for a crime people will still commit that crime. People who are rational tend not to commit crimes people who fly off the handle or have serious issues tend to commit crimes and they are not the sort of people to think rationally and ask the question "what is the penalty if I do this" they just do it without thinking.
lftlitm 1 year ago
@lftlitm i never said or implied we were better. i simply stated that the countrys with the highest murder rates are ones that dont have the death penalty.
the death penalty is simple: if you go out and torture and kill little kids for fun. you going to get fried. that says to society that life is valuable and anyone who takes it will be dealt with seriously.
if society takes away the death penalty. then what society is saying is that murder isnt that big of a deal.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 No, it's not saying that. Of course murder is always a big deal. Are you saying that those 95 countries that have abolished it don't think murder is a big deal? And when you're saying that the countries with highest murder rates don't use death penalty doesn't mean anything. There's no connection, these countries have highest murder rates because they've got so many other problems and they're developing countries.
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 yes it does. by eliminating capital punishment you eliminate murder as a capital offense therefore diminishing its severity. when society diminishes the severity of heinous crimes it places a lower value on human life.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 So basically you're saying that KILLING them places a higher value on human life??? Are you listening yourself? That's one of the stupidest things I've heard in quite a while. When the society kills its own citizens, it places a lower value on human life, obviously! Come on...are you kidding me? Why do you think most of those countries without death penalty explain the lack of it by placing a high value on human life?
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 yes! it places value on life in in a clear and proper perspective. you guys with your misplaced compassion for people like fred west convolute value. people like fred west deserve nothing but death and they should get it quickly.
"he who is compassionate to the cruel will inevitably become cruel to the compassionate"~ Ancient Midrash.
people like you and liberal viewer make that proverb ring true when i see you guys fighting for people like fred west and ted bundy
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 I really don't understand how killing someone would place a higher value on human life.In some countries, you get death penalty just for mutiny(Botswana), drug trafficking(Egypt, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh...), outrages against constitution(Ethiopia),Adultery(Somalia), Prositution(Sudan), Weapons possession(Sudan, Malaysia). In China, you get death penalty just for piracy or theft. In Iran, Yemen and Mauritania you get killed just for being gay.Does that place a high value on human life?
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 dude, its a big stretch to go from fred west to somebody who has a resentment towards his wife in somalia.
have you reviewed what these people on death row in the usa have done? or do you just hear what the activist have told you?
go online and read:Randy Kraft and Charles Ng.
then tell me you think its better for the victims familys to spare them cocksuckers.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 charles ng and his buddy leonard lake sadistically murdered a bunch of women and children in california. when the cops were hot on his ass, he fled to canada. there he committed a crime and got himself intentionally thrown in jail so he he wouldnt have to face the death penalty here in the the us. after his penalty was up, (canada has a no extradition policy for people who face death sentences in other countrys) the canadian parliament had to hold an emergency session to determine
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 cont: weather to extradite Ng or to let him roam free on the streets of canada.
i guarantee if you and liberalviewer were members of parliament that day you would have let ng go free and become a citizen rather than extradite him to a country that has 'quasi' capital punishment.
like i said before. read what the scumbag did.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 So killing him is the answer? People like you are not much better than the murderers themselves. You both prefer killing. And what you fail to see is that it simply doesn't reduce crime. It's actually the opposite: murder rate in the states without death penalty has remained consistently lower than the rate in states with the death penalty, and the gap has grown since 1990. It increases the murders Which one is worse? To have one murderer walk out free or to create three more?
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 yes killing sadistic killers is the only answer. your logic of saying im no different than the killers is ridiculous, moronic, scary and offensive to decent people and victims families but like i said before people like you have no concern for victims families. what the hell would you do if someone was in the act of murdering your mother? would you sit there and think about the ethics of killing the bastard? or would you handle your business and save your mothers life?
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 and that bull about the death penalty being responsible for rises in murder is complete bullshit and the thing about innocent people getting the death sentence is bullshit also. but using your logic why not just have every person released from jail because a couple innocent people have been sentenced to jail?
fuck all that bleeding heart commie progressive bullshit and fry the cock suckers!!!
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 No it's not bullshit. Since 1973, over 130 people have been released from death rows throughout the country due to evidence of their wrongful convictions. In 2003 alone, 10 wrongfully convicted defendants were released from death row. It's happening all the time. You're asking me what would I do if my mom was about to get killed. What would you do if your mom was about to get death penalty as a innocent person?
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 just because they were released dosent mean that they were innocent. after all wasnt O.J. declared innocent? i dont have to worry about my mom being wrongfully convicted either. what about killers that get released and klll again like lawrence singleton or mcduff the broomstick killer? btw every body in jail is innocent. just ask them they will tell you so. also what about the drunk driver who gets killed because hes in the same cell as the sadistic blood thirsty killer?
psyhobill5150 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 And to answer your question, of course I'd defend my mom even if I had to kill the person who's about to kill my mom. But that's different. In that case I'm defending her, I wouldn't have any other choise. But when it comes to death penalty there's another choise. It's called jail. And to be honest with you, I can't say for sure that death penalty would be the reason for high murder rates, but it surely doesn't reduce those rates either.
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@TheRyder89 but in the case of the sadistic killer like ted bundy, by sentencing him to swift justice(death) you are defending the victims families and as far as im concerned they always come first. like you said statistics can be analyzed many different ways and its almost impossible to rely on them especially in complex social issues. but i believe in this country if they were to swiftly fry the jerks that really deserve it the rates would fall. its just morally wrong to spare some people.
psyhobill5150 1 year ago

TheRyder89 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 Countries with lowest murder rates are Switzerland and Norway who don't use death penalty.Countries with highest murder rates, Jamaica, Lesotho, Swaziland etc. do use death penalty. Then again S Africa doesn't use it but has high murder rates. So, it doesn't make sense if you try to explain how some DEVELOPING countries have high murder rates because they don't kill their citizens. These countries are at the top regardless of whether or not they use death penalty.
TheRyder89 1 year ago
@psyhobill5150 It's not really smart to compare US to 3.world nations. In its own group, "the DEVELOPED, 1.world nations", USA has the highests murder rates.

Much of our normal media problems stems from the "sound bite" driven listener/viewer. This goes for both the liberal bias as well as conservative ones.

Patsun9 1 year ago
@Patsun9
I would start with you, you would want the USA to be just like Saudi Arabia or Iran.
Good job domestic terrorist, good job.
mecher3k 1 year ago
@Patsun9 clearly you haven't done your research. The DP is MUCH more expensive than life imprisonment because you have to pay for longer trials, more pre-trial motions, longer jury selection, more defense attorneys, more witnesses, etc and 15-20 years of appeals, and these are all necessary costs because of all the people released from death row with evidence of their innocence, which now totals 138. These facts and more are why it's much more practical to just stick them to life imprisonment.
Headhunter004 1 year ago
@Patsun9 Actually you haven't done your research. it cost more for taxpayers to execute for them for life than life in prison like headhunter says. Often people get convicted on flimsy evidence in our so-called "justice" system, which has resulted in a TON of wrongful convictions and innocents executed. i mean no offense it's funny USA condemned Iran and China for using death penalty except you guys still have the DP in the western world. The irony.

@publicmario17 iran STONES women to death...not for murder. but for being the victim of a rape. if a woman is raped in iran it is considered ADULTERY and she will be stoned to death. so the husband wont lose "honor" the only way she can be exhonorated is if four MEN witnessed the rape AND testified on her behalf...which is impossible cause if they witnessed the rape they were probably apart of it. or they could of done something about it. muslims are filthy animals
markbotv3 1 year ago
@markbotv3 you started with iran and you ended off with muslims are filthy animals. so when american soldiers gang rape innocent girls as well as their own fellow female soldiers it must mean that americans are filthy animals. and since most well known serial killers are american then Americans must also be inhumane beasts. thanks for clarifying it. so the acts of a few reflect accurately on the masses. no wonder everyone hates america
vinoa 1 year ago

No, no way. People who kill and when proof is basically 100% then they criminal should die, you cant put a price on it. And I cant understand how it would be more expensive to kill them than to keep them. I imagine there is something else you could do to cut the cost of them.

I have many solutions to California's debt crisis, and jobless numbers.
1. Slash entitlement spending
2. Wean yourself off AZ electricity; build your own coal & petroleum power plants
3. Open up Cali waters to natural gas & oil exploration
4. Ban Sanctuary Cities; provide no assistance to illegal immigrants
5. Wean yourself off Colorado River water; build desalinization plants to provide drinking water
6. Open up portions of the Sierras to sustainable logging.
these create jobs and wealth.
Slipknotyk06 1 year ago 2
@Slipknotyk06 Wouldn't tidal power generators, geothermal energy, and solar panels be a more sustainable solution to natural gas & oil exploration in their oceans. They're sitting on the Volcanic Ring of Fire.
SJT9791 1 year ago
@SJT9791 - It's not about sustainability, it's about jobs.

Slipknotyk06 1 year ago
@Slipknotyk06 ya im not usually for govt regulation. but unions are way out of controll. they need to be reigned in somthing fierce. 40% of union members vote republican on the gun issue alone. and the unions want to get rid of secret ballots.
markbotv3 1 year ago

You ENJOY deliberately obfuscating proper thought.
tothemax01 1 year ago
By the same logic, we could save money by getting rid of prisons. We could also save money by reducing the police force, and not issing officers with guns. Besides all those arrests are caused by racism, and all the crimes by poverty, aren't they, leftist? The purpose of leftism is to maximize the rate of social degeneration.
tothemax01 1 year ago
@tothemax01
You make a very.... aggressive arguement against 'leftism'. But can you not see any rightism ways to make better use of $1 billion than executing criminals? Maybe tax cuts? More police?
The cost analysis was death vs life imprisonment, so either way the criminal is permanently removed from society.
jacevicki 1 year ago
@jacevicki Simply put, it should not cost $1B. There is no reason for all of the inflated legal and medical costs involved. If they are found guilty, and the sentence is death, there should not be any difference in cost for appealing etc than there would be for life imprisonment. And life imprisonment for these people is immoral, since it means that (no matter how little it costs), society is carrying the burden of feeding and keeping alive monsters.
tothemax01 1 year ago
@tothemax01 I certainly agree that it shouldn't cost $1b. Kinda makes you envy China's system of take him out back, shoot him, and bill his estate for the bullet. $400m on a gas chamber is a waste of money, even if you support the death penalty imo. The problem is people on life don't fight in court as much as people on death, and it ends up being cheaper to feed the monster until he dies on his own. Counterintuitive, but unfortunately true.

@tothemax01 "immoral to keep monsters alive in prison"... even though prisons were MADE for these types of people? Does that even make sense?
