We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

so by technicality...not one car Known can beat an American Sportscar by value for dollar alone....and the corvette can be beaten to a bloody pulp...cant say that about the ferrari...every 15,000 miles the engine needs to be reworked its so high strung.

I don't know about you Tigeron1a but having a Vette of any sort in the states isn't special at all. Way too popular, so what if you can beat the other guy, so can 1/4 of the population. To me the real engineering is in motors which take work to make hp. A v8 you just slap a cam in with some headers and you make so much more. Inline 6 in my z, way different, v12 different. You want to brag about power, talk rotary. 1.2L is it with 1 decent sized turbo. 685hp. Its unique and powerful. Awesome.
Performance, quality, and style, don't come at the lesure of a man who doesn't want to maintain it. Duh its not going to be like a Toyota or a Honda which just lasts forever. If you can't afford the maintenance for the car don't get it. If you don't want to keep it in tip top shape, don't get it. Besides, motor heads which build nice American v8's DO put a lot of work to make sure everything is running properly every single time the motor turns over.

Lamborghini Miura is quite possibly the best looking supercar of all time. Truly the world's first supercar and the genesis of the whole concept.
Who cares about its mechanical flaws just look at it and listen to the V12.
