  • the beat , the beat, kool and meloy. I always loved Womack

  • This real OG right here youngsta...lol

  • Best Jazz ever!!! I love Bobby Womack, he is so gifted and makes my soul dance. I love his beautiful Jazz voice, best ever. I hope and pray that millions will inherit the postive change for American Citizens and vote for President Obamas party, we need change, so maybe the wind will change their minds, maybe they will see the special interest rich mans game, which is to gain power. They do not care for poor working americans nor do they care for working middle class american citizens.

  • GASP! they had featured artists in songs back then?? lol

  • man i was in the seventh grade when this jam came out and i bought and played the rings off the album? it is so hard to locate......

  • You should not call this record "Disco"~ it is sooooooo not that~ that's blasphemous~

  • Really good song! How did I live b4 hearing this? So much music lost. Thank God 4 utube!!

  • This is part of my musical "driving collection" when I have to hit the road for a few hours. I open the sun roof and just enjoy myself. Try it sometime....;-)

  • Это просто обалдеть можно СУПЕР !!!

  • Fantastic...did Bobby Womack play the guitar for Sam Cook..?

  • @motreby Yes, he and his brothers were Sam's band.

  • what a tune !!!!!

  • Love Wilton's playing on this classic, compliments Mr Womacks beautiful voice

  • serious tune, take it away bobby!

  • seen him live, great sung this one brilliant, govner

  • Bobby Womack, 1 of the industries great artists as a singer, song writer, producer and guitarists. The Crusader's are 1 of the greatest bands to have graced the airwaves. Together they are awsome.

  • @TheAremo Robbie Vincent Show I used to love it, those were the best days!!!!

  • @SuperLawz The Robbie Vincent Show I've still got old tapes from the first Radio 1 show and then I think it was Capital Radio after that when I moved to London. I still sometimes listen to them. Music was my life then, Saw Bobby Womack 3 times and just about everyone else at the Apollo in Hammersmith, such an exciting time!

  • This is still so classy - what can I say - those were the days!!!!

  • Such A COOL GROVE,

  • Ohhhh My Word! Don't it just take ya back.! Very, very sweet. I just luv Bobby's voice

  • Wow! Bobby is one bad mammajamma.....Go 'head Jazz Crusaders 4 Eva!

  • Powerful lyrics.

  • Absolute class - 2 legends meet ad make this!!!

  • This track was the start of a life long love of smooth jazz..a true classic..real music played by real musicians

  • This song is from Wilton Felder's album called "Inherit the Wind" (now out of print unfortunately!). Wilton is the tenor sax player heard on the song, an also for the Crusaders.

  • Is Bobby still on the road? I would like to see him.

He has to be around 65 now or older.

  • I love this song, way to go Bobby

    You are the best

  • Saw the Crusaders play in the UK back in the summer of 2003, with Randy Crawford and Ray Parker Junior joining them.......what a night !!

  • Technically it's Wilton Felder featuring Bobby Womack. First appeared on Felders second title of the same name.

  • Amazin sound and lyrics one of my all time favourites thanks for this. Seen them both live in london not together unfortunately.

  • Too cool!~!!!!!

  • this just makes you realize how bad most of the music is today. our 21 year old saughter has started checking all our tapes, cd's and, yes albums out.

  • Not so much how bad the music is more how smart your daughter is. There has been a lot of music made in my lifetime that "I" consider classic but music like this, that's well before my time, still rings true.

I've heard some shit old tunes too ;)

  • A fav of mine :)

  • Damn nice music. Thanks for that.

  • Does anybody whether or not Wilton Felder is still living?

  • Yes, Wilton is alive and well - he turned 69 a few weeks ago (August 31)

  • Bless his heart.

  • He now works as a security guard in Wallmart

  • Yes he is and still playing too.

  • I'd asked because I like this cut so much. Anyhoo, I'm glad he's still around. It doesn't matter if hes working at Wal-Mart or playing on the side. Thanks, man.

  • mmmm how classy ...brilliant thanks :))

  • ça c'est de la musique !

  • great song and pairing of a pair of musical giants- bobby womack and the jazz crusaders!

  • All I can say is that this music makes me feel good.soul lifting music.

  • this was actually Bobby Womack as guest vocalist on Wilton Felder's Inherit The Wind album in 1980...it was not the crusaders although obviously Wilton Felder is part OF the Crusaders... good post & good memories!

  • A before-it's-time, crank-it-up, and MOVE tune that'll never get old with me! Thanx for this one.

  • Perfect description.

  • This is one of those tunes i call "pull over to the side of the road". Everything that "smooth jazz" could've been and could be. Wilton and Bobby don't toss off, or fake a note. The amazing thing is, neither one will enter the rock&roll hall of fame. Blow!

  • The Crusaders should have their own wing in any hall of fame.

  • As we all know this wasn't recorded under the Crusader's banner, but Wilton Felder's.

    Bobby Womack's contribution is fantastic.

  • love the sax in this song absolutely superb!!

  • Does this back memories of Caister and that era for any one else? the best musical years of my life.

Brixton Front Line are you out there?

St. Agulf - France, pissed in the bar!

  • What ever happened to segun. Last heard him at an alldayer in panama jacks

  • WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO SEGUN.last heard him in the warehouse circa 84.

  • Wilton Felder's saxophone is majestic. Bobby turning it into a deep dark soul song. The bass is taking it one step higher. Thanks for posting.

  • I was introduced to listen to this piece of cool funky jazz 24 years ago. Till today it still sound so good.

  • aaaaaahaha, this is siiiiiiick man, listen to the music loool, proper porno music

  • LMBAO!!! Now I have a visual...

  • LOL Brilliant!

  • I saw Bobby Womack in 1995, one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Totally incredible!!

  • This is a feel good cut.

    I always love this.

  • Great album, it is called inherit the wind and Mr. Womack is the singer on the two songs with vocals. There was another one with Felder, also including Mr. Womack, The truth song, if I recall correctly, any chance to get this on youtube?

  • new artist here .click now!!

  • Okay. . .this takes me back to place where. . .summer barbeques in Detroit, all my uncles and cousins worked in the plants and the only fights were where next weeks barbeque was gonna be and who was drivin to Zimmerman's in Chicago.

  • Classy vibe thank you :)

  • just curious, y didn't you post someday we'll all b free. the last time i heard it was on the malcolm x movie by spike lee, and i think it was aretha franklin singing it

  • I have always adored this song--bought the Wilton Felder album in the 80's and played the grooves off! Thanks for posting it. Takes me back to real good times.

  • You are absolutely correct. Wilton Felder is the sweet sax sound and Bobby does the vocals. Just brilliant!

  • this is wilton felder ffs not bobby womack. do ur music history. jesus

  • Alright now, get on down...this truly awesome, thx for posting this...i can't stop now, WOW...this takes me back to a wonderful time in my life, and i am grateful to have experienced this musical era.

  • Bobby Womack is one of the baddest soul & R&B composer in the business. The man is truly a prophet!

  • its 3am man and were bumpin bobby womack

  • this ia actually Wilton Felder but Crusaders played the tracks

  • Pure class - no one comes close to soulful gritty tones of Bobby W. - End Of.....

  • What a stormer!! Remember seeing Bobby and the Crusaders at the Manchester Appollo many years ago when Wilton was give centre stage for this classic.Superb performance and hearing this track brings back the happy memories.

  • Yeah, one of my all time favs too! I love Wilton's sax, and bass playin, and Bobby's singin. I could never understand why this was not more widely played. Glad to see many here remember it!

  • One of my favorite songs of all time, indoctrinated into me by my dad playing it back-to back-to back...I believe Wilton also played the bass on this, he's one of the baddest bass players around 2...this song IS everything, jazz, disco, soul, funk and blues! all at once!!!!

  • It was Abraham Laboriel on Bass on this track, though Wilton played bass on other tracks on this album (notably 'Insight').. Great LP if you can track it down, and what a beautiful song too!

  • Quality...Pure Entertainment

  • Damn this youtube iz really cool, my dad was this man's bandleader for about 10 to 12 years, I grew up listening to all these song, bring back mad memories..

  • B.womack iz not dead...

  • memories of my youth . listen to "something for my head:

  • this tune just got it all...bobby in great voice and wow those memories just come tumblin' out of my soul...peace

  • HOT, HOT!!!!

  • One of my alltime favorites, great song, great vocals, great sax playing!
