Didn't Steve jobs make the Iphone that was fully touch screen and used almost no buttons? Also the Galaxy Nexus is around 800$ and the iphone 4S is around 700$? so which one is more over priced?
@gotcoinz12 The iPhone is. Having no hardware-type buttons is a disadvantage. The Galaxy Nexus is a far superior product, and IMO, is definitely worth the (relatively) small price difference.

Smartphones, tablet PC's and MP3 players all existed before Apple got to them, but they were never any good. @norfskate its true that no one stopped you, but apple do sanction Jailbreaking, and if you happen to drop your iPhone and break it, and take it install for repair, to find that you have played about with it, tell aren't exactly going to be happy about it. And no, it's still the same firmware, just without the security features that Apple put in place to stop you tinkering with it, it's only afterwards you can apply your mods or whatever.

I own an HP Touchpad with CM7 Gingerbread. NOTE, is not the OS that it originally came with... and it works amazing! no lag... image if it was Android made officially for it.

So when you "root" your droid you install a custom rom or firmware (like CM7) right? And when you "jailbreak" an iPhone you install custom firmware!
I've done both and I struggled with neither.
It didn't seem like anyone was trying to stop me, they were both just as easy to hack.

@norfskate its true that no one stopped you, but apple do sanction Jailbreaking, and if you happen to drop your iPhone and break it, and take it install for repair, to find that you have played about with it, tell aren't exactly going to be happy about it. And no, it's still the same firmware, just without the security features that Apple put in place to stop you tinkering with it, it's only afterwards you can apply your mods or whatever.

I own an HP Touchpad with CM7 Gingerbread. NOTE, is not the OS that it originally came with... and it works amazing! no lag... image if it was Android made officially for it.
My brother owns the Asus Tranformer with official Honeycomb... works great too. Perfectly, as it should, because it's official. I see no lag.

@bcta302 Android is not a phone. It's an mobile operating system that has survived because it comes on hundreds of free smart phones that have to be given away because the majority of people would never pay for them.
The people that buy iPhones just want a phone that works and they don't have to hack to make it somewhat usable. There's a reason the iPhone 4 and 3GS are the best selling smart phones.

AKA they know five people will buy it and five million will pirate it on Cydia. Big games like this will only be made for iOS because they have only a few hardware profiles to develop for and most importantly people that use iOS products don't mind paying a few dollars for an app.

Steve Jobs should be credited for saving a computer company from the brink of death and turning it into the most powerful and innovative technology company in the world. He turned Apple from a joke of company to one that everyone wishes to emulate but fail to.
With him at the helm Apple took products that other manufacturers made as well and turned them into household names because of how much more polished, stylish, and just plain more enjoyable to use for a slight premium.

Steve Jobs designed the Apple retail stores, allowed people to test their computers before buying, created the number one company in the world, and made one of the best keynote presentations. He might not have invented everything you mentioned, but he did make everything looked better. Apple has great customer service as well.
