This is interesting. This beat was taken from the end of one of Loose Ends cuts... I mean the very end. Look how long cd: Cut: Don't You Ever Try to Change Me. Listen to the end.
TO YOU 6 IDIOTS JUMP OFF A BRIDGE WIT A BAG OF LIL WAYNE,SOULJAH BOY, GUCCI MANE, WAKA FLOCKA, AND DA REST OF THE CRAP RAPPERS CDS IN IT HEAD FIRST INTO SOME JAGGED ROCKS
if some one gonna say hipphop is dead again umma kidnap him and force em too listen too shit like this, hiphop is timeless,Mos def never dissapoints me,how many rappers can mix singin n rappin together
it feels like the basketball court in our neighborhood, after the rain, it feels like me and ma brothers walking down the street, classy. It feels like that girl we were scopin out at the store, it feels like my million dollar whip, it feels like freedom, it feels like true hip hop
this on left a thorn in my side for a minute... I heard that beat before and it's at the very end of a cut by one of my favorite groups "Loose Ends" ----"Dont you ever try to Change Me" ... its at the very end of the cut----obvious loop job, but I knew I heard that sound before.
@guoccer um, you probably mean Black on Both sides. mos def really produced a lot of those tracks, playing the bass and drums and engineering the last track, may-december. never heard this track before! Hi-tek is really amazing. those tambourines!
MOS DEFinitely one of the greatest. Buy "Black on Both Sides" if you haven't already! I couldn't imagine an album where EVERY SINGLE SONG is a classic but MOS has brought me to the light!
this song right here just reminded me how ill Mos Def really is. these years were very vibrant when it comes to hiphop ... more creativity was accepted then now .. but at the sametime ... i see hiphop is changing for the better, lyricism is coming back somewhat. ... just my own 2 cents.
@KingVirmire Unfortunately, we are in the age of nothingness. If Paris Hilton, and the Kardashian sisters can become famous without accomplishing anything of substance, there's no reason to be surprised that so many are obsessed with Lady Gaga!
Hi-tek and talib kwali are in milwaukee at summerfest this weekend..cant wait for that shit..ps I dont care about spelling, to drunk..why on a tuesday you ask?...millwaukee..........
Mos Def is multi-talented in so many different art forms. He's the prime example of someone that's a true artist of his craft, he also belongs in the same light as Tupac but I know that there are gonna be some people who won't agree with me but who cares, he's dope. REAL HIPHOP ForEver.
I feel you straight up. I would even go so far as to say that he's on a different level then tupac. I love 2pac and big, but to me they got caught up in an image that glorified the things I saw in my hood everyday, and i really couldn't get down wit it. But when I heard Blackstar's 'thieves in the night' i bout lost it. Mos's 32 bars were some of the most deep, true, cutting, honest lyrics i've heard to date. Shout out to Talib he came just as hard.
you have to check out Hitchhiker guide to the universe..Mos is in it and he's funny.. Its british humor so some might think a little dry .. but i like the movie over all.. and its somethign to laugh at
damn i hate when i forget movies i wanted to see.. thanks for the reminder.. he was a witness or something right ? yeah that looked hot.. Old Clint Eastwood movie..
yea that be nice idk though im looking forward to his new album apprently he made a lot of tracks with madlib so im expecting this to be his best album since black on both sides
