He was trying to immobilize her. when they realized he couldn't, he went for body shots. head shots are for when you are trying to kill your target. They weren't trying to kill her until the very end when Raine emptied her magazine on her. So their actions were completely valid

video games? yea. Real guns? no. If you've ever shot a 5.56 or 7.62 compared to a 44 magnum, there is no contest of power. Also shotguns have more range (like, alot) than in games, meaning you actualy have to aim with it and its really, really nasty if you shot any living thing with it.
