I wanted to ask something......Mist once activated corrosion and Sol, does the weapon dropped 3 times level???? It doesn't make much difference since the weapon would break but....
the most a character can do in one battle is 40 hits. normal 2 hits times 2 for adapt each hit times 2 fore brave sword times 5 for astra= 40 hits in one turn. but you need a fully charged brave sword to pull it off

lol u mia and edward fanboys are so passionate. Probably isnt a good idea to get in the middle of this fan war but I personally find edward better lv for lv and class for class. But the difference is so minimal that, unless u just have to use ed, go with mia for the lv and starting stats gap cap. Ed's superior growth is also hindered by the caps.
I thin the only advantage Edward has over Mia is the fact that he can use Caladbolg as well as Vague Katti and Alondite. Besides that either way you choose, you're still gonna own.
eddie is not a bad unit and has stats rivaling mias however mia has a better stat cap due to gender and eddie is hard to use during miciahs chapters because of his defens problem all in all mia has a better chance at survival and is easier to use and is there fore superior to eddie
I believe YOU'RE the moron here. Mia has a fire affinity - an attack-increasing affinity. Meaning that the male TBs lose Strength to her if she's supported. And what good is 5 extra HP and 1 extra Defense on a class that rarely, if ever, gets hit, huh?
You forgot that +1 Str cap that the male Tb's get over the females. And you could just as easily team one of them up with someone else with a fire affinity and get the same bonus mia would.
Too bad such situations rarely, if ever, arise, huh? Also, I doubt it can realy make a difference if TBs of either gender can't take much hits before dying. Example: the dragons in 4-E-3 can 2-shot a good deal of units. I wouldn't say that the 1 defense and 5 HP the males have is of much help here. Also, you're ignoring the females' better Luck and Resistance, which make a difference, since Endgame has a good deal of Resistance-attacking foes and Luck is factored into evade. gg kthnxbai.
As I said, the dragons 2 shot TBs, and I wasn't being specific about which dragons either. What does that tell you? Both red and white dragons can 2-shot them. And the extra Res helps in the last 2 parts of Endgame, where all enemies attack Resistance. See where I'm going? And because of the way the RNG works, hit rates below 50 are more likely to miss. Have you ever seen a TB face a hit rate above 50? (Dheginsea, Ashera and Sephiran don't count) And luck affects more than crit evasion.
You just admitted what I was saying all along. Trueblades rarely get hit, and most of the time it DOES happen it's likely either a sniper or a swordmaster, since they have higher skill than most other enemy classes, and accurate weapons to go along with it.
You don't get it do you? That advantage is rather situational, and even then it's a very small one at best. And considering that TBs tend to lack defense, a critical hit likely spells the end of them. Also, as far as Endgame is concerned, there are only 2 snipers in 4-E-1 (one with the Double Bow) and 6 in 4-E-2, which can be 1 turned. Swordmasters also appear in 4-E-2, but since I wait until the reinforcements stop coming before getting the WB,I do so on the Cover tiles (sound familiar?).
Just how dense are you? Zihark vs Mia is debatable. How in the world are Edward, who can't dodge worth crap in Part 1, and Stefan, who's only a decent filler TB, better than Mia, huh? Stat caps is the wrong answer. Once again, how long are your units going to have all stats capped, huh? Not very long, I'd wager, unless you're playing Easy mode.
I agree with the fact that Edward and Mia are both pretty evenly matched considering there good stat growth and so on. Zihark and Stefan are no where near as good as Edward or Mia and Lucia striaght on sucks
Really. And I don't see the point in why everyone idolizes Zihark... his affinity is great, okay, but everytime I try to use him, his growth rates are bad... I mean, he's easily RNG screwed, and Mia outclass him for her awesome growths, especially in speed and luck. Once a Trueblade, with Cancel, Astra and Vantage she's a goddess.
(I also gave her Gamble, and man... she's pure awesomeness, having a high Hit ratio she never missed)
Zihark rapes in every mode, and Edward is only decent in Easy, and why would you bother training Edward up to swordmaster if you had a swordmaster that was just as good, if not better, as a pre-promote joining early in the game?
zihark kills with earth support (especially considering nolan is also earth)

mia pwns on her own, and she has more time to level; only downside is its hard to trian her for the first few levels (once she hits 10 she becomes a godess of some sort)
Clearly, you have no idea what your talking about. In PoR, Zihark "was" the best but in RD, it's defenately Edward. Zihark has nerfed stats in Rdas well as meh growths while Ed ward is so underleveled that you could train him and make him way more powerfull. Sure they have the same caps but Edward's growths are better except for resistance. Besides, if your a true fan, you would live with the patience to train a stronger unit.
Go ahead and hate me, but I believe that in Rd, Edward owns.
Zihark has a 7 point RES lead, which is easier for the final chapters where you fight dragons/Ashera. Albeit Edward has more luck and def, it's not so great considering Edward starts at 3/0/0 and Zihark at --/03/0. Zihark also has an Earth affinity; the best affinity in the game. Their skills are both great: Wrath/Adept. And while Edward is underleveled, that is not an advantage. You could give those 20 extra levels that Edward would take up to become the same as Zihark to Nolan or Aran.
Babying Edward is bad. During that chapter where you fight all the laguz with the Dawn Brigade (3-6, I believe?) you will have to rush to get Edward at a level high enough to damage the laguz and use a Master Crown early unless you use all your BEXP on him.
Not quite. All male trueblades CAN max at 55 HP, 32 STR, 26 DEF, and 24 RES. All female trueblades max at 50 HP, 31 STR, 25 DEF, 26 RES. The rest of the stats are the same. However, they all vary in growth rates. Mia has the 2nd best growth rate and Edward has top spot. However, Edward is underleveled and needs the most babying - Mia needs the least babying. And since Edward is a Dawn Brigade character, he doesn't see too much action to catch up in ranks.
lolwut? Mia takes just as much babying as Edward on HM. She can't kill anything without two crits in a row (which isn't happening without wasting a wo dao that Ike can use better). Plus Mia is competing with a lot of more epic units for exp. Zihark (and Stefan but he kinda stinks) take no babying at all. I say: Zihark>Edward>=Mia>Stefan>Lucia, but we all know no trueblade can stand up to a noble or Haar...
I don't think that you can compare edward's babying with mia's, you can't even try with edward unless you're on easy or normal, and in that case it's easier and better to go with mia
I just want to comment on how Haar really sucks on the last (5 parted) chapter as he doesn't have the speed to do any 1 turn kills. Don't get me wrong, I loved him during the rest of the game.. but it was an unfortunate occurence that his speed didn't scale up. Overall if you want to bring a wyvern to the endgame, you should baby Jill as agonizing as that is =/.

yes but astra could sritical in its strikes in POR with a killersword you could do instead of 5 x 5 (crits are not possible in FE10) you could do (2 x 3) x 5 ( in cases of lower defense the dmg is much, much higher i assure you ) and i agree with vantage/adept being better in unison with another skill in comparison to just astra
I'm in my third playthrough and I really think Mia is the best swordsperson.
In my second playthrough I found myself with only Ike using swords in final chapter (LOTS of bows and lances...), so this one I'm training Mia like in my 1st... Vantage is really godlike for a Trueblade since they are the only characters which are like to get a 1-shot crit (or adept :) )often enough.
BTW: I recently discovered Astrid w/ Para and Blossom = STAT PWNAGE.
Its funny how the swordmaster wars are always between Mia, Edward, and Zihark, sometimes not even Zihark. Meanwhile everyone forgets about Stefan and Lucia. Can someone give me the facts on those 2? Cuz no one ever vouches for Lucia, and Stefan fanboys go rabid when someone compares him to Zihark. Im a Zihark backer myself.
B/C those two are worthless. By the time Lucia rejoins you, she's still a Swordmaster, when the other three can be Trueblades easily by now, with better stats too. Though, Lucia does have the highest AVO in the game since she's Earth affinity as an added bonus. Stefan is the worst in the game, and doesn't even compare to the other 4. You can use him if you want, but he's nothing special.
He has the same caps as Ed and Zihark, and female TB's caps are better. He also won't cap hardly any stats on average. Also, his Vague Katti is not a PRF weapon; anyone can use it. He has the worst stats and comes way too late and underleveled. Why would you want to level a character that is inferior to 4 other units?
Not really...Zihark has better defenses and HP, plus he has adept and your probably gonna use him more in hte Dawn Brigade chapters. So far he's the only trueblade I've taken with me into the tower of guidance.
lemme tell u sihark the only good thing he has is the earth thing besides if u see his growths man i even think lucia beats him (and lucia is crap) and the best trublade is mia then edward
Stefan comes way too late in the game and the only good thing he comes with us the Vague Katti, which anyone can use. Lucia comes with a very bad playtime, considering she is only in 3 chapters she can actually get expirence in. Stefan comes in the final chapter for Micaiah's group and then has to use BEXP to cap anything, Eddie has almost the same playtime as Mia, though Mia has Ike's group to contend with which isn't a bad thing IMO, since my last playthrough had Mia capped almost everything.

no, looks more like:
(1st attack) Astra, Cancel is activated twice during Astra; (Brave Sword extra attack) Astra, Cancel is activated 3 times during Astra.
*Red Dragon was hit by Mia's Cancel skill so it can not counter attack*
*Mia is faster than the Red Dragon by at least 4 Attack Speed so she attacks again*
(2nd attack) Adept activates, attacks twice; (Brave Sword extra attack) Critical Hit, Cancel is activated.

You just admitted what I was saying all along. Trueblades rarely get hit, and most of the time it DOES happen it's likely either a sniper or a swordmaster, since they have higher skill than most other enemy classes, and accurate weapons to go along with it.

You don't get it do you? That advantage is rather situational, and even then it's a very small one at best. And considering that TBs tend to lack defense, a critical hit likely spells the end of them. Also, as far as Endgame is concerned, there are only 2 snipers in 4-E-1 (one with the Double Bow) and 6 in 4-E-2, which can be 1 turned. Swordmasters also appear in 4-E-2, but since I wait until the reinforcements stop coming before getting the WB,I do so on the Cover tiles (sound familiar?).

Just how dense are you? Zihark vs Mia is debatable. How in the world are Edward, who can't dodge worth crap in Part 1, and Stefan, who's only a decent filler TB, better than Mia, huh? Stat caps is the wrong answer. Once again, how long are your units going to have all stats capped, huh? Not very long, I'd wager, unless you're playing Easy mode.

I agree with the fact that Edward and Mia are both pretty evenly matched considering there good stat growth and so on. Zihark and Stefan are no where near as good as Edward or Mia and Lucia striaght on sucks

Really. And I don't see the point in why everyone idolizes Zihark... his affinity is great, okay, but everytime I try to use him, his growth rates are bad... I mean, he's easily RNG screwed, and Mia outclass him for her awesome growths, especially in speed and luck. Once a Trueblade, with Cancel, Astra and Vantage she's a goddess.
(I also gave her Gamble, and man... she's pure awesomeness, having a high Hit ratio she never missed)

zihark kills with earth support (especially considering nolan is also earth)
however...
mia pwns on her own, and she has more time to level; only downside is its hard to trian her for the first few levels (once she hits 10 she becomes a godess of some sort)

Clearly, you have no idea what your talking about. In PoR, Zihark "was" the best but in RD, it's defenately Edward. Zihark has nerfed stats in Rdas well as meh growths while Ed ward is so underleveled that you could train him and make him way more powerfull. Sure they have the same caps but Edward's growths are better except for resistance. Besides, if your a true fan, you would live with the patience to train a stronger unit.
Go ahead and hate me, but I believe that in Rd, Edward owns.

Zihark has a 7 point RES lead, which is easier for the final chapters where you fight dragons/Ashera. Albeit Edward has more luck and def, it's not so great considering Edward starts at 3/0/0 and Zihark at --/03/0. Zihark also has an Earth affinity; the best affinity in the game. Their skills are both great: Wrath/Adept. And while Edward is underleveled, that is not an advantage. You could give those 20 extra levels that Edward would take up to become the same as Zihark to Nolan or Aran.

Babying Edward is bad. During that chapter where you fight all the laguz with the Dawn Brigade (3-6, I believe?) you will have to rush to get Edward at a level high enough to damage the laguz and use a Master Crown early unless you use all your BEXP on him.

Not quite. All male trueblades CAN max at 55 HP, 32 STR, 26 DEF, and 24 RES. All female trueblades max at 50 HP, 31 STR, 25 DEF, 26 RES. The rest of the stats are the same. However, they all vary in growth rates. Mia has the 2nd best growth rate and Edward has top spot. However, Edward is underleveled and needs the most babying - Mia needs the least babying. And since Edward is a Dawn Brigade character, he doesn't see too much action to catch up in ranks.
Bottom line? Mia > all.

lolwut? Mia takes just as much babying as Edward on HM. She can't kill anything without two crits in a row (which isn't happening without wasting a wo dao that Ike can use better). Plus Mia is competing with a lot of more epic units for exp. Zihark (and Stefan but he kinda stinks) take no babying at all. I say: Zihark>Edward>=Mia>Stefan>Lucia, but we all know no trueblade can stand up to a noble or Haar...

I don't think that you can compare edward's babying with mia's, you can't even try with edward unless you're on easy or normal, and in that case it's easier and better to go with mia

I just want to comment on how Haar really sucks on the last (5 parted) chapter as he doesn't have the speed to do any 1 turn kills. Don't get me wrong, I loved him during the rest of the game.. but it was an unfortunate occurence that his speed didn't scale up. Overall if you want to bring a wyvern to the endgame, you should baby Jill as agonizing as that is =/.

lolwut? Astra was the worst mastery in PoR. Not only did it waste weapon uses like crazy, it also dealt half damage. Also, Mia and Zihark had better skills than Astra (Vantage and Adept, respectively). Lethality was also a waste of an occult scroll, since it almost never activated.

yes but astra could sritical in its strikes in POR with a killersword you could do instead of 5 x 5 (crits are not possible in FE10) you could do (2 x 3) x 5 ( in cases of lower defense the dmg is much, much higher i assure you ) and i agree with vantage/adept being better in unison with another skill in comparison to just astra

I'm in my third playthrough and I really think Mia is the best swordsperson.
In my second playthrough I found myself with only Ike using swords in final chapter (LOTS of bows and lances...), so this one I'm training Mia like in my 1st... Vantage is really godlike for a Trueblade since they are the only characters which are like to get a 1-shot crit (or adept :) )often enough.
BTW: I recently discovered Astrid w/ Para and Blossom = STAT PWNAGE.

blossom increases stasts by little more than 5% XD well in res and a few otheres its 10% but the bonus expsystem makes it kinda useless anyway

Its funny how the swordmaster wars are always between Mia, Edward, and Zihark, sometimes not even Zihark. Meanwhile everyone forgets about Stefan and Lucia. Can someone give me the facts on those 2? Cuz no one ever vouches for Lucia, and Stefan fanboys go rabid when someone compares him to Zihark. Im a Zihark backer myself.

B/C those two are worthless. By the time Lucia rejoins you, she's still a Swordmaster, when the other three can be Trueblades easily by now, with better stats too. Though, Lucia does have the highest AVO in the game since she's Earth affinity as an added bonus. Stefan is the worst in the game, and doesn't even compare to the other 4. You can use him if you want, but he's nothing special.

He has the same caps as Ed and Zihark, and female TB's caps are better. He also won't cap hardly any stats on average. Also, his Vague Katti is not a PRF weapon; anyone can use it. He has the worst stats and comes way too late and underleveled. Why would you want to level a character that is inferior to 4 other units?

Not really...Zihark has better defenses and HP, plus he has adept and your probably gonna use him more in hte Dawn Brigade chapters. So far he's the only trueblade I've taken with me into the tower of guidance.

Stefan comes way too late in the game and the only good thing he comes with us the Vague Katti, which anyone can use. Lucia comes with a very bad playtime, considering she is only in 3 chapters she can actually get expirence in. Stefan comes in the final chapter for Micaiah's group and then has to use BEXP to cap anything, Eddie has almost the same playtime as Mia, though Mia has Ike's group to contend with which isn't a bad thing IMO, since my last playthrough had Mia capped almost everything.
