Basically, this is what happened:

A bomb goes off and a marine dies. They hear 2-3 shots somewhere in one direction. They find 5 civil men in a car just near the bombing, and kills all of them. Then they move towards the direction where they heard the shots, and assumes they came from some houses. They decide to attack the houses in that direction, which results in 24 innocent men, women and children gets killed. What the fuck?!!???!! What are they DOING?

Better men, better soldiers would have kept in mind that evidence matters before lethal force is used. They shot those men without any evidence as to their connection with insurgents.
