Violence doesn't solve anything. My parents beat me relentlessly and so did their parents to mine. All it taught me was fear and violence to solve problems. I would get into so many fights up to middle school it wasn't even funny. I'm never going to beat, whip, slap, or spank my kids when I'll have them because I remember the fear and pain I had when I was a child.

i work in a daycare. the difference between children who get spanked vs children who dont, is very obvious. the ones who do, listen better, are way more polite, and more happy in general. i was spanked when i did something wrong, and i turned out fine, i am very close to my parents. my advise, if u want a bratty child, don't spank!

@bethanerd That's BS. My kids weren't ever spanked and they were both honor students and well behaved. They grew to be happy healthy adults who don't believe in spanking either. There are more intelligent ways to discipline a child.

there is no right way to raise a child that's the problem. if the kids know better, they know they did something wrong when they get spanked. but if you're some douche hitting kids upside the head, then you're the one deserves a beating.
