  • @20thcomposer That's not funny anymore.

  • Magnificent.

  • GREAT .

  • war

  • I wish that orchestras would play the Introduction more often than they do the Romance -- it's a finer piece of work. It manifests everthing that is Russian. What a masterpiece -- it's my all-time favorite work of classical music.

  • Amazing what Dmitry Shostakovich could do on top of such brooding undertones.

  • the horn gives it a really depressing atmosphere, the trumpets give it the dramatic sound, the strings give it the romantic feel, the winds give it the sad element...to sum it up, W-O-W

  • @girlinHK14 not to mention, the whole piece sounds very elegant as well. i can't help playing it again and again.

  • Best movement of the suite. Being a percussionist, nothing beats when the horns let loose at 3:09. Goosebumps every time.

  • @kl0441 amen! i get the chills from 3:10 and 3:30

  • I can't stand this. I have to hold my tears.

  • I played this song for my GCSE performance. It's officially the first classical piece I've ever liked.

  • wow, same here!

  • .. my favorite part of the whole Gadfly Suite.

  • "Romance" is a fantastic excerpt but I've always loved the pensive sadness of this piece

  • Favorite movement
