New Vegas was a pretty good game, but I just feel that Fallout 3 was quite a bit better. It's weird but the only thing that I loved in NV was the sky, and that was only because it reminded me of my hometown of Las Vegas.

@Camps2630 fallout 3. it teaches you some basic elements such as vats and it is amazing. then get new vegas. after playing through falllout 3 you can appreciate the changes made in new vegas.
Actually Vegas was spared the nukes because of a missile system built there that took out the nukes in air. So that is why radiation isn't so widespread amongst the inhabitants.
This is a legit site to make $350 every 2 days or a free Game Console however it is considered "unethical" by some people. But I say screw those large companies!

How the fuck did you expected a nuked wasteland to lool like??? all sunshine, green grass, birds fluttering, happy people and intact environment??? it takes place in las vegas. its a desert around there, of course you get a desolate brown/grey environment with no shard of happiness around.

The entire eastern coast of America would give you a crazy amount of freedom, but I'd say it would take way too much time and effort, better spent on gameplay and graphics. To be more clear, lets say that traveling from Goodsprings to New Vegas Strip in FNV would be equivalent traveling from Las Vegas to San Francisco in reality, which is absurd to travel that distance in that short of time. If it was similar to Assassin's Creed where you were able to access cities in Italy but you had to fast travel to them. The loading would be lame.

Is sound good? Bullshit, still extremally glitched, because sound disappears for a few seconds after loading save and there is still no 3d sound and you can`t get from where sound comes from.

@thesman32 that's some pretty poor reasons to rate the game 2.5. it is easy to escape enemies, i believe it's only you that suck at gaming. and how can you hate fallout but not oblivion? that's impossible, since the games are merely the same but with different stories.
I think 8.5 suits this game well. My main problem with this game or the only glitch effecting me is the VATS mode where you assign the body part and he doesn't shoot, move. A VATS cancel feature would fix it.
@lewled4life I've had that glitch several times too, it's pretty annoying. Granted the patches did fix a lot of bugs, I still have that glitch and if I have two followers, it freezes 9 times out of 10. Clipping issues or something.
The bugs in this game can be absolutely hilarious at times (i.e. getting trapped in a cabinet) but the one thing that irks me about this game is the severely limited mobility, mountain climbing is near impossible, not to mention a quick escape from a herd of bighorners protecting their calf.
Reviewers only 'look past bus and "hope" there will be a patch' when it's a release from a big publisher! So many smaller publishers have had good games with 1% of the problems and got scores in the 7's for being buggy. I could name STALKER, Two Worlds, Metro 2033 and the Gothic series.
@XDrMethX ya but its worth it. the lag is only due cause the disc is overheating in the ps3 and need to be water down the slam back and your good for another 3hours.
they've definately fixed most of the issues but yes, it still glitches (not necessarily lags though). The biggest problem i've encountered is the game freezing, but i have it 4 ps3, i hear it runs betur on xbox.
i have a glitch where a women is typing on a table with no computer the glitchs are funny sometimes but when you miss every shot because whatever your kill is to close pisses me off this game is annoying as fuck even though its a good game every glitch and crashs ruins it. meh xD
I feel the game is glitchy... but not so much that it becomes gamebreaking for me. I expect glitches from a game of this scale. But seriously why OBSIDIAN? Bathesda you made game of the year, and i get you wanted some of the original creators on it but it should be for ideas not for creation. Before fallout 4 toss away obsidian. Dont get me wrong i love Fallout New Vegas but mostly due to the gameplay witch you made me interested with. But technically its very sub-par.
The longevity of this game is a double-edged sword. The fact that it's long means that there's a lot to do, meaning I'm getting my money's worth. On the other hand, I, personally, don't have much free time anymore, so I won't be able to play it much. Oh well.
So far I have put 12 hours into the PS3 version and I have had 1 crash and a few glitchy animals, and one instance where at night everything looked all night visionish until I paused the game and unpaused it.
That's a fair review and fair score, but I still say if this was from a small European publisher it would get scores in the 6's and 7's and be torn to pieces! When you review games like Two Worlds II and Witcher 2, it will be interesting how you deal with any bugs that are in the game. Somehow, I don't think you'll be as generous as you've been with Fallout New Vegas!
The worst bug I encountered was entering the atomic wrangler and immediately being attacked even though I was "liked" reputation. Of course, defending myself completely destroyed my freeside rep :(
I thought this game was great, Im on the PC no game breaking bugs for me yet, but I do see some oddities like flying people and some clipping here and there. I heard that the slow downs on the consoles can be solved by resetting your system every couple of hours to clear the cache. Well best of luck to you guys, hopefully the updates will come through.

There are a few bugs in New Vegas, but 10x LESS than Fallout 3. The only bugs you'll come across are:
Game freezes at least 1-3 times per character
The game will sometimes crash if you repair NCR armor (not always)
Sometimes when it says you lose karma you don't lose it.
Those are the ONLY bugs I've come across. And I've beaten the game. So I dunno why everyone's exagurating about the bugs when there's only 3 of them :/
@Cheezheadz12 Well, I think it's also based on which console you get it on. I've heard the PS3 has twice the bugs than the 360's (Which still isn't that many), but the PC's the worst; covered with tons of bugs, unless of course you get the new patches to fix it.

I have a hard time believing people haven't encountered bugs. I have had "flying" enemies, scorpions underground, "invisible" enemies (name and crosshairs are red, map shows enemies in area, but nobody anywhere visible), Gltching quests (monorail, ED-E), stuff showing up as stealing when it shouldn't be, game freezes, weapons glitching up and down all over the screen and blocking my view, glitching through and into furniture and walls and getting stuck requiring restart, etc
@TheMaTaSS lol Yeah I know what a nightkin is, and they aren't completely invisible. The invisible people I am talking about are somehow stuck in the ceilings and register as being on you floor based on map and crosshairs. They also don't show up on the map when you go upstairs. They usualuuy will become "visible" once you load another map and then return.

@ECST4C the main thing that made oblivion great was the lush colourful enviroment that made you want to explore it but fallout new vegas has sutch a depressing grey colourless enviroment that you dont want to explore.
oblivion had sword fighting,magic, horses (transport) and your own dragon etc.
fallout has radiation,broken guns,no transport (your always on foot) and a predictable story.
i didn't like fallout 3 either i'll just wait for elder scrolls 5.
@thesman32 i dont know about you but each time i head out into that wasteland i cant help but explore. found an abandon air port, turned out it was near a town covered in fallout and filled with ghouls. thick green gas everywhere. some people like lazers and undead while others like magic and undead

personally i'd rate it something like 7.5/10 because it's a great story, clever game system. BUT it is drenched in bugs!

@lewled4life I've had that glitch several times too, it's pretty annoying. Granted the patches did fix a lot of bugs, I still have that glitch and if I have two followers, it freezes 9 times out of 10. Clipping issues or something.

The bugs in this game can be absolutely hilarious at times (i.e. getting trapped in a cabinet) but the one thing that irks me about this game is the severely limited mobility, mountain climbing is near impossible, not to mention a quick escape from a herd of bighorners protecting their calf.

Reviewers only 'look past bus and "hope" there will be a patch' when it's a release from a big publisher! So many smaller publishers have had good games with 1% of the problems and got scores in the 7's for being buggy. I could name STALKER, Two Worlds, Metro 2033 and the Gothic series.

@XDrMethX ya but its worth it. the lag is only due cause the disc is overheating in the ps3 and need to be water down the slam back and your good for another 3hours.

they've definately fixed most of the issues but yes, it still glitches (not necessarily lags though). The biggest problem i've encountered is the game freezing, but i have it 4 ps3, i hear it runs betur on xbox.

i have a glitch where a women is typing on a table with no computer the glitchs are funny sometimes but when you miss every shot because whatever your kill is to close pisses me off this game is annoying as fuck even though its a good game every glitch and crashs ruins it. meh xD

I feel the game is glitchy... but not so much that it becomes gamebreaking for me. I expect glitches from a game of this scale. But seriously why OBSIDIAN? Bathesda you made game of the year, and i get you wanted some of the original creators on it but it should be for ideas not for creation. Before fallout 4 toss away obsidian. Dont get me wrong i love Fallout New Vegas but mostly due to the gameplay witch you made me interested with. But technically its very sub-par.

The longevity of this game is a double-edged sword. The fact that it's long means that there's a lot to do, meaning I'm getting my money's worth. On the other hand, I, personally, don't have much free time anymore, so I won't be able to play it much. Oh well.

So far I have put 12 hours into the PS3 version and I have had 1 crash and a few glitchy animals, and one instance where at night everything looked all night visionish until I paused the game and unpaused it.

That's a fair review and fair score, but I still say if this was from a small European publisher it would get scores in the 6's and 7's and be torn to pieces! When you review games like Two Worlds II and Witcher 2, it will be interesting how you deal with any bugs that are in the game. Somehow, I don't think you'll be as generous as you've been with Fallout New Vegas!

The worst bug I encountered was entering the atomic wrangler and immediately being attacked even though I was "liked" reputation. Of course, defending myself completely destroyed my freeside rep :(

I thought this game was great, Im on the PC no game breaking bugs for me yet, but I do see some oddities like flying people and some clipping here and there. I heard that the slow downs on the consoles can be solved by resetting your system every couple of hours to clear the cache. Well best of luck to you guys, hopefully the updates will come through.

In the end, it's either the peoples' game discs, or the console they get it for.

There are a few bugs in New Vegas, but 10x LESS than Fallout 3. The only bugs you'll come across are:
Game freezes at least 1-3 times per character
The game will sometimes crash if you repair NCR armor (not always)
Sometimes when it says you lose karma you don't lose it.
Those are the ONLY bugs I've come across. And I've beaten the game. So I dunno why everyone's exagurating about the bugs when there's only 3 of them :/

@Cheezheadz12 Well, I think it's also based on which console you get it on. I've heard the PS3 has twice the bugs than the 360's (Which still isn't that many), but the PC's the worst; covered with tons of bugs, unless of course you get the new patches to fix it.

I have a hard time believing people haven't encountered bugs. I have had "flying" enemies, scorpions underground, "invisible" enemies (name and crosshairs are red, map shows enemies in area, but nobody anywhere visible), Gltching quests (monorail, ED-E), stuff showing up as stealing when it shouldn't be, game freezes, weapons glitching up and down all over the screen and blocking my view, glitching through and into furniture and walls and getting stuck requiring restart, etc

@TheMaTaSS lol Yeah I know what a nightkin is, and they aren't completely invisible. The invisible people I am talking about are somehow stuck in the ceilings and register as being on you floor based on map and crosshairs. They also don't show up on the map when you go upstairs. They usualuuy will become "visible" once you load another map and then return.

@ECST4C the main thing that made oblivion great was the lush colourful enviroment that made you want to explore it but fallout new vegas has sutch a depressing grey colourless enviroment that you dont want to explore.
oblivion had sword fighting,magic, horses (transport) and your own dragon etc.
fallout has radiation,broken guns,no transport (your always on foot) and a predictable story.
i didn't like fallout 3 either i'll just wait for elder scrolls 5.

@thesman32 i dont know about you but each time i head out into that wasteland i cant help but explore. found an abandon air port, turned out it was near a town covered in fallout and filled with ghouls. thick green gas everywhere. some people like lazers and undead while others like magic and undead

what you're doing here is rating the game after personal opinions,
personally i'd rate it something like 7.5/10 because it's a great story, clever game system. BUT it is drenched in bugs!
