  • I already see this movie again and again, never be the same thing every time I find more interesting things, so I'm grateful for the love you share, Oh I forgot, I live in the interior of the Brazilian interior, and so I see the when I go in the big city

  • La vie sauvage, solitaire et rude dans les hautes montagnes.

Robert Redford y est exceptionnel !

  • I've often wondered if they should do a remake of this as it is now nearly 40 years old. Maybe with Brad Pitt in title role.

  • @patfinney100 helllllll naw. maybe liam neeson or christian bale

  • What a film! It’s the impression left by such graceful and eloquent filmmaking that makes J. Johnson an unforgettable film. J.Johnson is a simple story about a man's struggle to survive. Despite anachronisms, a few factual & geographic errors, this film is great and unique in its emotional intensity. Not much dialogue but just enough to be carried away by this touching movie. The silences are so expressive, they speak for themselves without any word. R.R is excellent as well as the other actors.

  • Video is great. who stuck Cash into this?

  • I've loved this movie from the first time I ever saw it. I've watched it more times than I can remember, but I've never seen it done this way. Love the Johnny Cash piece! Marvellous!

  • Thanks for the great video!

  • greatest movie ever made!

  • Oh, nevermind.. I see.

  • Why the inference to Johnny Cash? Is he in thes clip? I havent seen him.

  • I love this movie and your version is great. I watched it when it came out in the theaters. I also have a DVD. One of my favorite movies of all time. Wish Hollywood would revive more movies like this.

  • they havn't got a clue how to make films there any more , I usually only watch uk/french or german films now

  • I love this video. Great work. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think that, after several times watching it, that the best time to start the song might better have been placed right when JJ sits in his cabin after discovering his family slaughtered, and looks at his horse. Obviously, it is important to set up the scene with the jerk preacher, but the emotions of the song, with the rhythm of the guitar and Cash's voice, are best set at the scene where he lets that judgment come DOWN...

  • I am never offended by a thoughtful comment like this. You have, obviously, watched the video several times and left a thoughtful analysis. I'm just honored that you watched it more than once and it was a source of enjoyment and thought provoking to you. I'm sure you would have liked the other video, too.

I made this video as an intro to the other video. I am slightly surprised that it has been so popular. Thanks again for watching and commenting(including your reply below).

  • @quigonpaj my thoughts exactly another good song would have been gods gonna cut you down

  • What's most impressed me about this movie is the simple fairness of the central character, Johnson, as he has no choice but to take an Indian wife - just as I, an Indian, have had no choice but to take a white wife, but I love her as much as I would if she were Indian.

This is, after all, America - and things have always happened - in my case mainly for the best.

  • Perfect song, great job :]

  • this is 1 of my fav movies and im 14

  • you are on a good track, kid!

  • Fess Parker or John Wayne?

You would have liked part 2. God's Gonna Cut You Down and Won't Back Down. I liked it a little better than this one, but I had to remove it.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • Ah, I see that you had you had already done the song accompaniment to that part. My apologies if my above commment was perceived at all as critical....

  • Wasn't that Reverand also Mr. Bentley on the Jefferson's in the 70's/80's ???

  • Yes.

  • a great movie!! You kill grizz, Pilgrim?

  • Great Job!! This is a perfect song for this sequence in the film. Its clear that you have a real talent for this sort of thing.

  • Thank you very much for the compliment. I had a second video which featured Johnny's versions of God's Gonna Cut You Down and Won't Back Down. UMG and YouTube made me remove it. I actually thought it was the better video. But, this video had more views, so what do I know?

  • LOL--VERY WELL DONE-I LOVE IT !!!

  • i hate that reverend

  • Oh! ta...I was wondering..thnx.

  • Where is Johnny Cash? I don't get it?

  • Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm glad you like it.

  • Cheers, for the use of the alternate version. This is my first exposure, but I quite like it.

    And cheers, to Jeremiah Johnson.

  • That version is from The Legend of Johnny Cash, a greatest hits compilation that came out in the US after Johnny's death.
