some of you people need to stfu and stop analyzing every little thing, you're acting like idiots.
This was probably the best fight in the game + best music in the game.
Just enjoy shit that's provided for you without wondering why mario never has to take a dump or samus never needs to change her tampon. Christ people. People like you are the reason why so many games are shit these days.
Just enjoy the rare times we get half decent shit like NMH2 when we can. NMH1/2 only wii games worth playin
I have to agree with some people on story and continuity concerns here for one reason: if he was in space all this time and thought he was still on a mission for the Soviet Union, how the hell did he become a ranked assassin? Would he randomly snipe people from space with his lasers? Well, whatever, who cares, right? Fight was interesting, music is cool, and I can forgive the game for something like that because it was fun
If you honestly think that the UAA actually makes sense you've missed the point of the game. The UAA is not supposed to act realistically, it's supposed to represent a game development studio, like Grasshopper. So this is just another character they've made for you to fight.
@Rotou Also I don't think people like Cloe Walsh and Matt Helms would be able to just walk up and say "HEY LEMME JOIN LEMME JOIN THE GAEM". Maybe they just picked out some of the assassins randomly?
@ZeroFuri You seem to think that they have any reason at all to discriminate. A fight is a fight. Entertainment is what they provide to peole eager to prove themselves and seize glory. The more messed up they contender is, the more interesting the contest is.
Think of it this way: If he was gunning down people from space he had orders to kill (Most likely from Silvia) then like Dr. Peace before him he'd be ranked simply by killing them. Then again, Vladimir is just that damn awesome.

I was shocked that I had to fight a spaceman for this fight. Seriously. I actually had to pause the game, put down the controller and go outside and scream. IT suprised me. Not to say it was a bad boss, but wtf? Why a spaceman? And was he possessed or some shit?
The dialogue after the battle suggests that Captain Vlad was part of the Soviet Union's attempts at space travel, but he ended up lost in space for a while for so long his dedication to his mission made him lose most of his sanity. Unknowingly he fell back to earth, still insane, but after being defeated by Travis and seeing the Earth, he regains some sanity to enjoy his last moments.
Same here. I wish they had done more with his character. Not that there's much they could do, but the whole five second "HAY TRAVIS LET'S FIGHT" cutscene thing they did in this game kind of sucked when the boss was actually interesting.
yeah, the first game characters had way more depth, story, and...well...character. A lot of the little things that made NMH so unique (Boss intro voice, driving the motorcycle around the town even though there was nothing exciting to see, and more in depth character design and personality) were taken out. Sure NMH 2 looks good and is still fun, but it seems they were trying too hard to make the story progress smoothly and quickly, and skimped out on the details we wanted
So true. And some reviewers are actually complimenting the fact that the plot is simpler, since supposedly a good story and well developed characters aren't what gamers are looking for.
I mean, I expect that sort of thing from the industry in general, but I always thought Suda was different. Oh well.
The assassins in the first game all had something to say at least. They felt like characters and not obstacles.
Hell, Ryuji doesn't speak a -single- word outside of the battle itself, and than it's only a few one liners here and there.
NMH 2 was Travis cussing alot. That's about as much as I got out of all the cutscenes. There was no plot, and, unlike the first one, it wasn't zany enough to excuse that. Aside from a few decent boss battles and three or four tracks, I was vastly disappointed.
the entire plot of the first game was to get laid, thats it...and you didnt learn two shits about any character really, just vague descriptions and sometimes their philosophies on what they do...the only difference is the the prefight smack talk is longer in the first one compared to the second. And yes, some characters didnt say much, but if they didnt it usually fit their, i dont know....character. My point, there is no meaningful plot or character developement behind either of the games.

While they are 2 of the best on the Wii, they aren't the only ones worth playing. There's also the rest of this year's lineup.

Easily one of my favorite themes from NMH2. I really like Captain Vladimir's character.
It also helps that the voice actor, Paul Eiding, is the same guy who did Roy Cambell from MGS. <333

So, because the plot isn't as mind-screwingly complex as, say Killer7, Suda isn't different?
The plot in NMH1 wasn't grand, and the characters were barely developed there, either. It's still a great game.
