The simplest Instument creates the most divine melodies, Spellbinding Gayaki element in his rendition.. truly hats off to you, It brought tears to my eyes..Who would have imagined that a piece of Bamboo with holes could creates such divine splendour..
No Lisole...He has played this in Lydian Mode...root is 'E'....profression is E-F# - G# - A# - B - C# - D# - E....in indian music composed in Raga Aiman...A raga carring a feel of submission, best time for playing this Raga is Dusk...
This is so beautiful! I thought, how soothing the flute is, and then the drum added in and just...wow! lovely combo! And there's the tanpura drone in the background...
i know i just posted, but this song is absolutly brilliant, it makes me feel good to be alive. thank you for this amazing post, keep them coming. and try and make them longer please ;)
Very soothing music. Bansuri has no equal in simplicity and also in rythm. But it is very difficult to get good Bansuri which has this wonderful sound in it. The Artist is talented.
I listen to this all through out the day over and over. It is so transcendental it keeps me balanced. I play the Bansuri, just got a brand new 31'' in the mail. Keep up the good work, hope to see more. Hare Krishna.
Dhun is a hindi word for folk tune. Bhajan is a devotional song in prayer of God. This one is a rather famous prayer in Marathi language (the language of the Western Indian state of Maharashtra) in praise of Lord Ganesh.
Thanks. So many of the terms used in classical indian music overlap to some degree. I still can't quite grasp what a raga truly is. I may be looking too deep into it. No matter how much I read or listen, it seems there is a grey area in my understanding.
a raga is a series of notes arranged in an ascending and descending order. Some notes are ommitted in either ascent or descent. Some notes are played with more strength than others. As long as you follow the order of the notes and the strength of the notes you are playing the raga.
Superb! Has calming effect.

What is the difference between a bhajan and a dhun? is it in the tabla rythm? Both can be based on ragas, right?
