The reason he was the best, besides his amazing skill, shooting ability, perfect equality between his feet and his ability to make mince meat of defenders, was because he was from a time before skill and overpaid wages. He just got the job done.

he gave united great service for 11 year don't forget and did not just give them ablity like maybe some players who play for clubs for about 2 years he gave them service and his impact on the team was as big as any united players in history.he is the seond best to play for united.

Why play for a diffrent international team? He was proud of his country. He just wanted to play football and have fun doing so. And hes the most famous footballer.

A lot of people don't think he is coz he never played on the biggest stage: the World Cup. Imagine if he was english, they'd have certainly won the world cup in 1970, and that amazing brazilian team would not have won it. One of Best's best qualities is that even though he was greedy he always worked doubly hard to win the ball back when he lost it.
My dad is a huge Best fan and whenever I ask him how Critiano Ronaldo compares, he always says "not in the same league."
Simply the Best.

I fully agree with you, a lot of best was not shown on TV he scored some unbelievable goals. The only player that i have seen that comes close to him is in my opinion is maradona I believe that best carried united for the last few years.

I thought the 1970 WC Englands squad was their best ever England team.They were at least on a par with Brazil.
Brazil definitely benefited from being more in tune with the altitude and also high temperature.
I thought that England were short of one player -Jimmy Greaves!
England also suffered there usual share of bad luck yet again. Losing Gordon Banks against Germany.
If George Best was English that would have clinched it for sure.

aye, Best was proud of the small part of the country he's from, he grew up watching Glentoran in the west end, and supported a United Ireland team because he wants to see both succeed where he wasn't able to help them.
