So, a couple months ago, I posted a comment because I was frustrated. It should never have been posted, and I'm ashamed that I behaved that way. I could care less if someone performs a field show I performed in high school, and I shouldn't have overreacted the way I did.
I apologize to anyone who I offended or hurt, and I hope that your band will continue to perform well.
especially when my school played it 5 years ago. watson (our director) said you guys didn't have the jazz band and band to play this. he was right. idc about the "stealing" (not stolen), it just sucks. not gonna lie.
Interesting idea putting the jazz band on the field. I would rather see the guys just coming up front and soloing. You know, like Ol' School drum corps. But that's just me.
I competed against Foothill many years ago (Cupertino HS) and even back then you guys were awesome!
I love your set of music. But when is it just the band playing. Looks like your jazz band showed up at the wrong gig because that's all I hear is the jazz band, not the marching band. Last time I checked it was a marching competition, not jazz. But no hard feelings.. You guys do play your set really well though. I wonder why... By the way amazing soprano player. Amazing...
I'm very disappointed in your director. I feel bad for the band and guard members, because it's not your fault. Your director should know better than to do the exact same show & drill as another band, especially if his band can't do it as well as the band who did it originally!
What is the marching band world coming to when a director takes a field show from another band? The students who were freshmen the year El Dorado performed it just graduated in June! Wait longer, atleast. SHEESH.

WOW AWESOME! You totally ripped El Dorado High School off. I remember playing this my Junior year. And we rocked it. Come up with your own March and don't copy other bands. You sicken me. You guys need to be disqualified from all band competitions.
hehe this looks awesome in high quality. dang, how long does it take you to set up the stage in the middle of the field? thanks for the tripod btw :P makes the viewing quality much better.
hehe the swing flags in the ballad are so pretty. ooh love the wave at 5:46.
I KNOW I'm so glad we have the tripod now. Hopefully I can get it smoother before this Friday. It usually takes just over 2 minutes to set up the stage. The record is about 1:30. Yes, I've timed it. :)
Now all I need is a fisheye lens (+ maybe an HD camera for my birthday from my parents, early of course), and I'm set to rival takeachance2000.
ha we pwn. (i'm not at foothill)

so does the band actually play for the first like three minutes of the show? or is it a jazz-only gig?
how'd you guys do at your first comp?
dramagoddess20 3 years ago 5
The whole band plays. It's just hard to hear because it was halftime and everyone was being rowdy. I have the entire field show up too.
Foothill Marching Band did fairly well at Cupertino Tournament of Bands:
1st place Parade (Class E)
2nd place Field Show (Class I)
3rd place Auxiliary (Class I)
3rd place Percussion (Class I)
3rd place Brass Overall (Class I)
3rd place Woodwinds Overall (Class I)
Marching Sweepstakes
Grand Overall Sweepstakes
