Its great to see Gil back on stage again, sharing his talent and insights with us. I've followed his career since the "Revolution Will Not Be Televised" days in the 70s. Gil is a national treasure. Love you, brother!
Gil is great he's got so much class. It's amazing.
I love this song unfortunately i can't understand all the lyrics, is there anyone enough motivated to transcript them to me? It would be incredebly nice i can't find them on websites.
Whats the name of this song? as a 23yr old growing up in the South Bronx, I feel like I was missing brothers who spread the word like this... Damn a 50 cent!!
but even old, bent Florida sunshine trees stand a little bit taller today, and you can hear the whisper from the seaside breeze, this is what they say, posemn slim, don't you mess with him.
Heard me a story about this brother. Said he was more than a hundred years old. Beat up and robbed by friends of his. Which proves this world can still be cold. Yeah, but even old......
I may repeat this several times during the course of viewing the various videos on Gil, but it bears repeating. Everybody needs to appreciate what both Gil and Brian Jackson has meant to the fabric of our society. We need more videos, documentaries and just plain old knowledge spread throughout about these two brothers.
Cannot believe he's gone. So glad he got a new album out. So bummed that I never got to see him play live.

It´s called `South Carolina (Barnwell)´. You´ll find it on `From South Africa to South Carolina´ (GSH and Brian Jackson, 1976). First track, B-side.

Gil planted seeds. One day that tree is gonna grow and it will be preserved like a redwood. Secrets don't stay secrets forever.
