  • i live in a suburb just like this but i live in one of the most dangerous cities in the u.s. i cant really have security in my neighbor hood because i have a lot of elderely and young children idk what to do can you help?

  • great topic great view i like your show keep up the good work and good luck to you

  • @zac030101 , i was asking a sincere question , I was just getting his true oppinion of the times we face.

  • Where do I find like minded people...?? Family and friends don't seem to see the writing on the wall....been banging my head against the wall trying to convince them, people w/ land, friends w/ money.....they don't listen.....

  • YOu must have been watching Falling Skies. Lol. Great info.though.But you forgot to talk about all those that could be cooking while the others are quarding. This would be a good job for the children old enough to cook with and without adult supervision.

  • what if the people in you area think your nuts

  • there will be people who may not be up to using a firearm or engage in a firefight but they can be extremely useful in supporting roles. if you have people who have never experienced combat or any other serious emergency, and they sit by and do nothing during such an event they may panic and set you back as your attention can be driven away from a threat. give them something to do even if it doesn't involve a weapon.

  • Great instruction David. I am learning a tremendous amount from you and your vids. God Bless. Anthony.

  • I would be worried about friendly fire with such untrained defenders......especially at night.

  • @MrB0TT Yes that is why people have assigned positions so they can get to know them and also you put in sector stakes so they can move their weapon between to small poles that are in their position so this lets them shoot into their sector without shooting wide and hitting another position. The stakes keep them from moving their weapon in a direction to point at another position.

  • @southernprepper1 Thanks for the reply. Your point is well taken about knowing your plan ahead of time. Your videos are excellent by the way. As a prepper I can tell you I have been looking for this kind of information on youtube. Not just "Oh, I've got this and I've got this". Know how and philiosophy are just as important in my opinion.

  • @southernprepper1 I really like that stake idea. Very simple, very effective.

  • now that you mention other communities sending aid, how would linking up work in a fire fight, i know you went over linking before but in a more peaceful environment than this, last thing you want is friendly fire, and the best way is to not mix friendlies with bad guys right?

  • Great job its good to see someone who can see everyone can be of value and has a place in a survival situation.

  • @tmzrox absolutely concur. When you train junior soldiers or a foreign, indigenous defense force, you have to beat this principle into their heads. 100 lone wolfs = a sh*t ton of green-on-green casualties

  • Good stuff! I've just started to watch your videos and like the way you have a common sense approach to things.

I have subscribed to your channel.

    Thanks!

  • My neighbors have no drive to defend anything, they are all spineless, chickenshit, liberal, cowards who would run and probably rat me out if they lived through whatever happens. Thats why my home is up for sale now :P

  • Do you really think you will be in this position in your lifetime??

  • @Kevinnn63 No idea at all. I could be in a position like this from a hurricane or natural disaster. Probably not to the harsh degree from WROL and probably just having a present so looters and others will not mess with our community.

  • @Kevinnn63 - You think you won't be in this position in your lifetime? Countless others already have after the Rodney King riots, Hurricanes Andrew, Ike, Katrina as well as other disasters and societal disruptions. There's also an economic collapse most likely on the way.

  • @Kevinnn63 I think you and others will face this scenario in your lifetime. WHY ? #1 The flow of oil is going to slow down. #2 The electrical grid is very fragile. #3. Our nuclear power plants are very fragile. #4 Our technical society is totally dependent upon parts from China. #5 We are totally in debt to China. #6 Our borders are over run and this is changing the demographics of the America We Once Knew. #7 Our planet is overdue for another Kerrington effect Solar flare.

  • @Kevinnn63 im prepper too and i hope to neer face situation like that but ...

  • @Kevinnn63 He has been in that position, he is infantry

  • @Kevinnn63 can you ashure he won't?

  • community is the greatest survival resource... well said. Assigning sectors of fire will be hard to do though!

  • I finished my Red Cross training to set up, and manage a shelter. It's great info to have.

  • Thank you dude for your commitment.

  • Instead of just "getting them to do what you want" a diff POV may be to see what the are actually capable of and what they are willing to do. Someone overweight may like to sit a lot and stand watch. A control freak might like to man communications or supervise security checkpoints... I like the way you broke things down. Sometimes we forget what it's like to think like a civilian.

  • @pdmwebsolutions A good leader evalutes people and listens to what they like to do and then works them into the plan. Its the same way in the military some guys like to do certain things and other like to do other things so if there doing what they like to do the team is stronger. Your poinit is good but if your a good leader your already doing this.

  • History has shown that having your more experienced men in the front ranks helps moral and prevents retreat, The less experienced will live longer and learn somthing from them. The reaction force made up of the best guys would more then likely be plugging a hole they retreated from. A sentry position for the less abled bodies would prevent your ring of foxholes from getting flanked in the case a side was overrun but I doubt any civilians would put that much heat on a well prepped comunity.

  • What are your thoughts on rivers? My community is on a dead-end street that basically dead-ends to the river. I don't know anyone around here that are "preppers", but most can take pretty good care of themselves (grow gardens, cows, chickens, ect.). My only small concern has always been the river, but I kind of doubtful marauders would try to cross it (100 yards wide). Would we need to try and defend that area? Thanks, great video!

  • @RollinTidez

Basic military doctrine is to always attack where the opponent think he is safe. History is full of armies sneaking through mountains thought impassible, tanks rolling through forests thought impassible, infiltrators scaling walls and other things of the sort. I'm not saying you should guard the river to the same extent as you would an open field but simply be aware of the risk and maintain some sort of OP/LP to give a heads-up to any bad dudes.

    Semper Vigilo.

  • @903lew Yeah, I was thinking we should at least patrol the area a few times a day or put 1 man in charge of it. Thanks for the reply!

  • Oops nvm I see where u covered alot of that in the 3 video series.....my bad on not paying attention

  • Great video...I was wondering if you were going to go into depth about things like sector sketching and FOF. Also the uses of LPOP'S and how to implement them into a longterm defensive position. I might do a video response to the video covering these if you don't plan on covering them.

  • @Southernprepper1 What about building walls have construction teams guarded by armed guards as they build at it could be rebar, concrete blocks, and cement and make sure when building the walls you might want to start small with walls around just your territory/perimeter and reinforce them or whatever and then add on with more walls to broaden your territory/perimeter or you could secretly build walls at night on a broader perimeter scale, and you make the walls have scaffolding to walk on or g

  • thanks another great and imformitive video

  • Bless you. Thank you so much for your work, I learn so much from you. My neighborhood spreads out down a straight country road about 2 miles long. The road can be closed at both ends with no other inlets. Is this too much of an area to defend? Neighbors are likely willing and able to cooperate and coordinate, but the properties are 10-30 acres on average and houses are far apart. Should we be thinking about protecting this road or instead have people fall back on a few homesteads?

  • @plainpatriot1 No many variables, plus its hard because you have to see the whole picture and know what resources you have to work with. Send me a PM and maybe we can talk further about your situation.

  • Total collapse situation can only happen in totally collapsed society! The total collapse can happen when there will be only few true Christians left and no true love to each other. So instead of teaching people how to use guns, teach them how to love each other and care for each other, share things.

  • @integraab I appreciate your opioun. I share with people the ability to take care of themselves. This is what Iam lead to do so I do it.

I teach them how to protect themselves and is defensive in nature. Travel the world and see how very bad people treat innocent helpless people. Rape and murder and hacking arms and legs off. Iam called to share what I know and hopefully it will never be needed.

  • @integraab what does being a christian have to do with anything? More people have died in the name of god than any other reason.

  • @Demicron Who is talking about dieing?

  • @integraab yeah.. Christians are such a loving bunch. I remember having Brunch with a bunch of them during the Crusades... Great guys... They could take a head off with one swing of a sword.

    See you soon.

    Your Friend

    Lucifer.

  • if you hang a sign that says " i have machine guns, no Trespassing" everyone would stay away

  • what do you think of taking people that live in the houses at the perimeter and moving them in with other people that live more towards the center of the community/subdivision or whatever so that you dont have to defend as much area?

  • Great vid! GOD BLESS!

  • The diagram here shows just one entrance to the subdivision , many have a lot more than one, these MUST be blocked so vehicles have only one way in or out, also when TSHTF some neighbors will leave , and some will have family and friends arrive, newcomers to the neighborhood must be watched closely !

  • very good

  • great idea on the nanny...never thought of that one...thanks

  • Youtube is not notifying me when you post a new video.

  • Another good video. Good information, like the white board aspect of it. Charlie Mike!!

  • Good stuff, would like to see you slow down and make this a multi part series

  • I miss you doing the re-enactments... =)

  • Good tips buddy

  • SWEET vid , brother !

  • Great stuff! thanks.

  • its too bad National Geographic didnt pick up on this wealth of information that you provide to all of us here. All they made it seem is that you were a gun-totin' crazies - but we KNOW better! Thanks for proving them wrong!

  • Another great info video!

  • one person disliked this video, lol they think they can do it on their own

  • You might want to have a sniper team. Ex military snipers / hunters / or just the best marksmen you have on high grounds or top of buildings. So they can touch any target 400 to 800 yards out.

  • good video keep em coming

  • Great information here. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!

  • very informative vid thanks

  • great plan ,we live in a passive communty so we are a lone in this great info i hope people take it to heart ..thanks .....mountainman

  • Unfortunately, here in the Northeast most people don't respond to current events through preparation. They still think that the system is sound and that the government will take care of them. They have little or no interest in even something as simple as a block association. They look at you like you had two heads when you mention preparation.

  • As usual, top notch stuff David!

  • Ear pieces would be good for the radio people so they don't have 10 radios yelling at everyone in the room!

Anyone who isn't very prepared beforehand might be better off with a bolt or hunting rifle that isn't semi-auto, this way 'spraying and praying' wont waste your ammo!

  • I just watched your National Geographic special today and it was really awsome!

  • Outstanding video Southernprepper! You've made some good videos but I think this may be your best video yet. Fascinating. I hope you will expand on this information. I'm curious if you feel it would be a good idea or a bad idea to block any access roads into a neighborhood in a social breakdown TEOTWAWKI WROL? Are predators on foot more manageable than predators in vehicles?

  • nice

  • This is good stuff. I still would like to know where you would place gun positions on your map, where you would put fall back points, how to deal with the road, etc.

  • Thanks a bunch! This was badly needed info.

  • I do not know if you mention it before but you must have been special forces.

  • Good advice - as always. Unfortunately a violent and unpredictable family with a long history of criminal convictions - including robbery with violence - lives in our subdivision. They're not good news. I have never spoken with them (other than the time I caught one of their kids breaking into a car parked outside our place). I can only hope that the arrival of a WROL situation wakes them up. Unless it's clear that it has, no-one is going to trust them.

  • @Myrmecia there is two meth labs in shooting range of my house. a church at the end of my street.my nextdoor neighbor has 5 hunting dogs that bark all nite the police here are just 22-24 years old i dont thank thay will be any help and two of my neighbors are down one shot his foot or somthing and the older man had a heartatact

whats left 3 men under forty years of age and and five over 68+ years total 36 counting man woman and child and only eight able fighting bodys i need 2 move lol

  • good stuff bro...so much to think about ...

  • Haha when I go shooting I go to my cousin's pasture and while we shoot the cows don't stampede, actually the go down range and start trying to eat the target lol otherwise great vid, keep up the good work

  • Lets elect Ron Paul so that there is a LOT LOWER CHANCE of Poopy hitting the fan... :D

  • @Tux3d0 i'd like to agree with you, but i think we are too far gone for that. besides have you noticed how mainstream mafia is cutting Paul out of all the poles and charts, they act like he doesnt exist. too many ppl are still hooked on fox and cnn and think thats is the truth. but i do hope

  • @MYAR15SaysImFree True... The other Republican candidates hate him and I agree he isn't "Mainstream enough" for anyone, but if we can get him past the primaries WEW HAVE A VERY HIGH CHANCE OF HIM WINNING!!!

  • the meat and potatoes .... great... looking forward to more

  • Thanks for this video. As always, excellant information.

  • wow this is the best video ever!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent! Thank you sir!

  • Good video brother, off head question about utilizing the residents. I have a neighbor that is example a fantastic carpenter but is usually drinking by 11 a.m. through like 9 p.m. Another one who is great at making anything run and keep it running using whatever, but is so unprepared that if the power goes out he is asking for a flashlight. What do you do with them, mostly the first guy. Alcoholic is gonna be a problem shortly right?

  • @EastTennesseePrepper I have no idea...maybe if the situation is really bad he will run out of alcohol and be okay after time. Hard questions for sure.

  • @EastTennesseePrepper In my opinion, the second fellow you mentioned sounds like a great asset. If he is that great, you will have to be prepared for him and protect him. Hopefully you can work on his attitude about preperation a bit while everything is going okay. The first guy I am afraid will have to work out his problem. It is hard to help someone like that.

  • @EastTennesseePrepper that might not be an issue when tshtf due to lack of access. also, in a shtf case, you would explain it to him that everyone is counting on him to stay straight. The second guy might benefit from being coached now.

  • @Herbalpagan In an alcohlics case, choice is kinda gone. I've seen these dt's and that person for awhile would be a problem. Erratic behavior, prone to violent outburts, dementia, and stealing drugs and rubbing alcohol in hopes to get the dt's down is a problem just to name a few off the top of my head.

  • @EastTennesseePrepper Unfortunately if the alcoholism is severe enough they will go into severe withdrawal when their supply runs out and can end up with permanent neurological damage or death if they go cold turkey. To prepare for people like this in your community, hopefully your local medical person will have a decent supply of meds stocked up which should include Ativan or a different benzodiazepine, which is used to wean people during an acute alcohol withdrawal...

  • @EastTennesseePrepper ...we typically use benzos to treat people outpatient for anxiety, so someone in the community may have a prescription that they could lend to help in a situation where the alcoholic's life is threatened by the withdrawal, which usually starts with tremors and evolves into seizures and ultimately death. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) should also be supplemented. Ofcourse I can't recommend sharing prescriptions during ROL but during WROL you gotta do what you need to. -Doc

  • wow, good stuff sp. gonna watch that again and take notes this time

  • One of the key things to remind people. Call it a motivator if you will. In the event of a collapse of society, the raiders will commit rape, torture, etc. There is no assuming they will just take your food and leave.

Odds are, they will have lost some buddies and be pretty pissed afterwards.

    Strength in numbers.

  • again great info...alot to take in and think about .

  • Great points, thanks for all that you do.

  • i live in a small community outside tupelo ms on a state hwy there is houses all up and down it from tupelo to boonville ms and i live in the middle there is two towns on each side of me withen 15 miles of each other and i am less than 30 miles from three citys all three have national gards.if somthing happens will thay come in and remove the guns from people? or do i need take my crew away from everone? i dont know but i think time is short thank u

  • @jcb570 I dont know the answer to the gun grab. Sorry

  • @jcb570 man i live in corinth ms good to know they're preppers so close

  • @1991jarhead i am from iuka.what r u going to do if the shtf stay or go?

  • @jcb570 Katrina was a good example of just how much our govt "respects" our 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 14th amendments. During Katrina, the local govt agents / officers simply hid their looting, robbing, and murdering behind their authority. First things first, if you live in a state where you have reason to believe the local authority would attempt to "restore" law & order by illegally searching / seizing people's property, I'd consider relocating to more conservative state where that wouldn't fly.

  • @jcb570 i also don'tknow about the gun thing, but that is exactly what they did during Hurricane Katrina, but I am sure they only took the law abiding citizens guns, the criminals still had theirs I am sure.

  • @jcb570 What guns? All my guns fell of a boat and sunk. Btw there are long zip lock like bags made for storage of weapons in wet/buried conditions.

  • I like this but I have a question I hope its not dumb. But how do you identify yourselfs from the enemy. I mean its not like a normal structure of an army everyone will most likely be in civilian clothing. if you can answer this please do.

  • @BENLINUZ The advantage with the defender is they will have a fixed perimeter so everyone on your side of the perimeter is on your side and everyone on the other side has the potential of being bad. Try to determine who is bad and who is just moving thru your AO is the question that will be hard to determine. Alot of time in 3rd world countries they wear a certain color like a arm band or something to identify friend from foe.

  • Awesome job - especially for an 11 Charlie! (Mike - 11 Bravo)

  • great vid SP1!!! i would also love to learn the propper way to take a team out on a foraging mission. To gather resources in a covert, safe manner. Trading goods will only get u so far. Certain items my need to be obtained (not stolen) to fit ur communities need. Maybe a vid on scouting and resource identification sumtime?

  • @25Readytogo Yes I could do a white board class on this but dont know when. Thanks for the question.

  • I had a question ..i love meat but cows use alot o resources right..do you just feed grass...or do you have to feed corn also...cuz you would have to plant a ton o corn to feed cows..thanks for the vid as always it has given me more to think about...thank you

  • Thanks Bro... Another well thought out vid!

  • You made several good points, I think the most important point was having a good leader to form the defense, and the ability for that leader to adapt to what he has to make a strong defense even if it isn't ideal defenders.

  • what kind of timeline do you predict that this level of reality will happen?

  • @lordmegamatt are you referring to how long after a collapse this level of security will need to be implemented. Or are you referring to when the collapse will happen???

  • good video sp1 keep up the good work
