Your router is not bricked if all the lights arnt on! your router just needs to be reflashed!

What does it means if the power light blanks? Also i can't talk to the router using 192.168.1.1

@Rosalina1971 If the power light blinks it means your router is bricked or something is wrong with it. And if you don't get any response when you ping your router in command prompt using 192.168.1.1 it might mean you have a different brand of router or you need to manually change IP. Try pinging it with 192.168.0.1 in Command Prompt. Download the newest firmware from your manufacturers website and TFTP it to override the corrupted or missing files in your router.

If i ping 192.168.1.1 says Destination host unreachable. then it gives me a new ip. if i ping the new ip it gives me what 192.168.1.1 is supposed to give me. My router has the 1,2,3,4 lights on, the planet and thats it. Resetting does nothing.

Thanks a lot this worked perfectly with a WRT54G2 V1 using the DD-WRT firmware, just follow the instructions and you are done.  This is the quietest and useful tutorial I have ever seen!!!

Look at DD-WRT and Linksys firmware. Put your router model with dd-wrt (ex. WRT54G with dd-wrt firmware) on google. Hope that'll help.

thanks choppergage, this worked on a WRT54G v.3 where the power did go out while applying the latest greated DD-WRT. Don't know if it is crucial to leave Gateway & DNS IP blank, but first applying original Linksys Firmware sure worked to revive (then DD-WRT accdg. to instrus for the specific model).

@gamermind07, our modem dont have usb. just plug the ethernet cable in LAN then power up and hit upload the firmware.

I keep getting a router timeout error after the firmware install reaches 100% (solid green bar), any ideas?

(I'm using the 192.168.1.100 static IP, and have disabled my other network devices, and yes I have tried to increase the timeout wait time to as much as 60 seconds)

I was trying to DeBrick the router it was totally locked up, I was successful after about 6 times, I actually had to first flash with the "vxWorksRevert" firmware (for my version), which actually debricked it and allowed me to flash again with the proper firmware after I followed the correct steps on the dd-wrt website. Thanks a Billion you saved me hours of frustration and from having to figure out the software for the jtag cable I wasted $12 on just to attempt a debrick, this way is 10x easier

ok... i have my router working :) i believe... but... when my rounter is pluged in... i dont get internet... i can access that dd-wrt site... and all the settings and my laptop picks up the signal but the internet dont work... please help me lol thanks

reinstall firmware using DD-WRT. You NEED use static ip address to process the upgrade firmware.

I don't know. I didn't test when power out during uploading the new firmware. But you may able to use TFTP to reload the firmware. Do you know how to use tftp?

@ricmezatv, Use TFTP on cmd. remember, hold the reset button while WRT310N powering up then hit TFTP quickly. it will work if you upload the DD-WRT image.
