  • I am in my first year of university and I'm studying Digital Animation. I will be on completion putting all my animations onto Youtube. Even though I only have Animation created on Maya so far there are more coming.

I would really appreciate if people would subscribe to my channel or even just give me some constructive comments about them so i am able to enhance my skills.

  • ,n

  • its all in the textures, it makes EEEEverything looks AWAAYYY more realistic, doesn't matter the number of polygonss

  • great work. how did you model the third characters head.i want to how did u do the head cut.

  • @faheemaliadnan1 maybe he cutted the head model and created a diferent model for the inside of the head, or the main model was maded like this, both of them looks pretty boring for someone as lazy as i am lol

  • 1.50 GOLLUM IS DEAD!!

  • the creature in 2:06 is from Constantin movie :P

  • Excuse me maybe u must add the bones to make it moree realistic in a sci fi way

  • so thats where the cover of black ops came from!

  • I can't believe anyone even considers going to Truemax for 3 years when your students get 3 times as good in only 1 year. Incredible showreels your students have done! Congratz!!

  • That third model was flat out disturbing. Well done. Nice models.

  • do you know if there's a school, like yours in holland? please reply cause i don't want to emigrate

  • BAh, not hard to do at all

I made these models in SPORE :D

  • The half-headed creature reminds me of those demons from Constantine

  • @badpeq Yeah, that's one of the Soldier Demons from Constantine.

  • @badpeq Or maybe a Savenger Demon, either way, it's definitely from Constantine.

  • @badpeq Reminds me of Pan's Laborinth/Labarinth/however you spell it

  • Awesome reel what did you use to render out everything? was it in maya ? and did u composite different passes?

  • @525Leomas Our students primarily use Maya and/or XSI, along with Zbrush, Renderman, and others, depending on what they need to accomplish. Hope that helps!

  • @VancouverFilmSchool Thank you so much :D

  • Most boring video in youtube!!

  • The second model with the mandibles; should have been used on the NEW Clash of the Titans. I think it would have been better than the one they used.

  • Ive tried using blender, it is hard as hell to learn to use that, I spent months trying to figure it out before finally giving up

  • anathomy sucks

  • @Gehussterhodn Spelling sucks.

  • What's the name of the song, please!

  • i love how the camera zooms into teh half head person thingy

  • I'm not sure if it ever said anything, but isn't the third character nearly the exact same thing as one of the demons from the movie Constantine?

Just wondering if that's where the inspiration came from...

    None the less, nice reel.

  • the second model has a man bulge with no man parts :p he hides in his skin :p cus its cold lol

    "reference to meet the spartans"

this is great work though wish i could be this good

  • Maya is a good software. I used 3dstudio.

  • this is a pro work

  • You dont need me to say that this is really good work. However, as a demo reel for showing off work, it could use some help. Specifically, the characters in the middle of the reel are against a very dark background, making them a bit harder to see. Very nice lighting for mood, yes, but bad for demo reel. Also, I think the wireframes should be with the models rather than showing renders of all then wireframes of all. Finally, 4 min is rather long for 1 demo reel.

  • know from studying in this field myself that sometimes teachers give requirements that personally we wouldn't want to follow, such as time lengths, and how things should be shown. But, sadly if you want good marks you need to follow what teacher says, to some extent. Plus, the models are shown with the wireframes overlayed on at several points, and how they choose to light the scene for dramatic effect is part of the work as well.

  • omg 0:12 looks so Half-Life 2

  • There are some parts that fool me so well! I'd think it was real if parts were pictures!

    BRAVO!

    很好!!!

  • Scary music :S and nice models.

  • Nice!

  • 1:38

    Wryyyyyy monster of the future.

    ZA WARUDO!

  • I think they are great character designs ..I will love to see more of his work ...thank you for sharing them with us :)

  • who ever decides to give my comment negative rating is fucking ridiculous.

    its obvious

  • i dont know a thing about this kinda stuff all i know is that stuff looks awesome so saying he didnt work hard enough seems a bit wrong

  • The person that gave you a thumbs down probably just thinks your full of shit.

Oh well, what would morons know about this stuff anyways?

  • yeah i guess your right they just see vfs and assume that its awesome.

Most stuff is so its a close thought ;)

  • Well they think it's easy, so easy a caveman could do it lol.

Seriously though, scripting out polygons for cgi character rendering and character wiring is the furthest thing from, *easy*

It's tedious and can take long hours...unless your using a simplified program like maya.

  • Maya isnt a simplified programm.

You should have a look at the programs.

Theres no such thing as scripting polygons

u model them into theyr forms

  • Sorry.

Simple things are more difficult for me and difficult things are simple for me for some reason.

I'm not good at explaing things, sorry.

  • how do you figure maya is simplified?

  • scripting polygons? character wiring? You have no idea what you're talking about, friend. Weather you're using Maya, Max, plus other programs such as Zbrush, Blender, etc, they all have their level of difficulty and their perks and pisses. This video here is a good piece. You need to back off and stop trying to fit into the conversation. You either are lazy, or someone else steered you wrong.

  • ma come cazzarola fate??? :(

  • hey,,,its good to c ur final man

    Mohamed Aly Rabie

  • awesome.....splendid...The background score is also g00d...The brainless man must have been tough...especially the top part of it?

  • Im thinking into going to the VFS this summer for 5 days, kinda expensive though

  • I´m thinking abut going to, what courses are you interested in?

  • Either Game Designer or 3D Animation & Visual Effects

  • Awesome

    Impresionante y muy interesante...

    Felicitaciones... amigo...

  • Wow... very nice work.

  • WHAT A PROGRAM DO YOU USE

  • MAYA

  • couple of them, he uses zbrush for modeling the characters and maybe maya or 3dmax for the envirement

  • vfs use xsi

  • oh really, could i please ask you some question about VFS if you dont mind, i have been accepted into 3d animation and visual effects and i really wanted to ask some poeple that know about VFS

  • sorry i dont know much about it.

just read that a lot of xsi is used.

dont know if they changed their pipeline tho

  • Comment removed

  • they don't use modified versions.

  • sure, ok, but they do have some new tools, all the programs they use there get new tools, afaik

  • whats XSI?

  • nice butts

  • wooow! great!

  • 2:10 constantien demon

  • That's the real 3D Animation! I'm glad that other people aside from the pros know how to do this one. Great work!

  • these people are pros.. this is a graduate's work. he's probably got a job now, so he's a pro.

  • Awesome lighting.

I don't think so many polys were needed on most of the surfaces. Perhaps that was intentional for the normal mapping and or lighting/texturing.

    Excellent work!

  • change the background to something lighter... :P

  • GOOD JOB .

  • Great work t, but yeah the wireframe was pretty faint and almost didn't show. But that doesn't change the fact that he is an excellent modeler!

  • looks like jeepers creepers

  • love the work, great real, but i would have been a tad more abstract with the camera shots to tie in with the abstract nature of some of the models..

    fantastic work

  • extremely boring reel - way to slow and the camera movement was boring. Showing the mesh on the first char = fail, since one couldn't even see it.

  • Nice!! Reminds of of a PS2 game called 'The Suffering'...

  • Exactly what I was thinking of!

  • Love it! ^_^

    Still need to get suffering2.

  • wow, amazing detail, very lifelike

  • Amazing work

    And absolutely great music

  • this is amazing.

  • nice work... keep it up!

  • great job. I go to Columbia College Chicago myself.

  • What program is this?

  • Outgraceous Job! Keep going!!

  • I must say very good job.

  • Damn GOOD Job!

  • excellent... that would make for the coolest video game...

  • you're absolutly right.

  • stupid

  • CONSTINTINE!!!

  • I like it a lot. Congratz to Moo Won Kim

  • the character model from the last looks kinda like doom.. hehehe

  • 2:37 look at his package!

  • are you an 8 year old girl?

  • haha no im just being stupid, watch my video you will see how old we are!

  • Amazing. But kinda depessing.

  • the 3rd one cold have matbe gotten onto dead space

  • or kind of like from Doom

  • SIC

  • Why do people always model dickless men? Come on, slap some penises on them.

  • My opinion: I think that your reel did have very intresting content - but, the tempo of the whole reel made it very boring to watch. I mean, showing of the same character from all angels - giving them 1 minute each doesn't make it more interesting. My tip would be to make the clips of the angels shorter, to give a higher tempo (that would really fit in when the music starts to get better, in the middle).

Well this is only my opinion.

Take care and have fun! : )

  • I see a horror movie in the making :)

  • i see deadspace 2 in the making , some type of deamon game, and manhunt 3 in the making

  • So much for that?

  • My favorite is the skinny guy XD

was the inner of the head made with polygons or just bumpmapping and something like this, hardly visible...

  • Great Reel. But why is it Interlaced instead of Progressive?

  • how can you tell?

  • In HD The text and some corners on the props show a shifted frame.

Its very possible that Youtube's HD compression fails epicly. That would explain the occasional frame rate jitter.

If you look at the VFS logo in the bottom left you'll see in HD that the edges appear to lack anti-aliasing. But since its video the effect is caused by Interlaced frames being compressed in the wrong order.

  • ooo, i see it! thanks for sharing!

  • Ya it is cut off

  • If you watch it in HD you can see the lines

  • great... nice vid 5*

  • they should make a video game

  • nice job!

  • good job. last one pretty darn creepy. But my only this is the wireframes were really light making it very hard to acually see the wires. Try going with white or a really dark and bold black. Also the credits were un-readable

  • very good

  • awesome :D:D:D:D

  • nice 5*

  • very dark.

    great work

  • AZM!
