As far as I know the only US truck manufacturer that have a American owner is Paccar (Kenworth/Peterbilt), all other major brands are owned by European manufacturers such as Volvo (White, GMC Heavy, Mack) and Mercedes (Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling, Detroit Diesel)
never seen a 53.5m (175.5 feet) long road train in the US, never seen a 160 tonne road train in the US. Australian trucks and drivers are the best in the world by a long way.
