You do realize that a truck pull is about weight and traction. It has nothing to do with actual pulling power. The only time the Tundra has ever pulled an F150 was at a toyota dealer ship anyways. The Tundra's frame has been proven paper thin time and time again. Not only this but the truck is less reliable than all domestic trucks including Dodge. Truck pulls don't say shit about a truck, numbers do.
@ronfish1965 driven both god father has tundra i have chevy.. there is a reason why i got chevy it is a wayyy better truck tundra just has a good 5.7 well its ok... just get the 6.0 chevy silverado(=
@dammyousuck The Tundra is actually made more in America then what the Chevy is, Pretty sad being an american company the US. part content is only about 65% Toyota is a Japanese company which means the profits go back to japan, but The US, part content is about 85%
im looking into getting a truck and ive been leaning towards the titan because i love the look, and from what ive seen in reviews its constantly at the top in all categories, but damn couldnt they get an F150 too? its the highest volume selling vehicle in America...
The only knock I've seen on the tundra is that the tail gate is weak and people loading ATVs have been reporting that the gate is bending and coming apart under stress. Anyone own a Tundra that can confirm or deny?
@hmfmi I don't but if you google the actual question, I will almost guarantee that you will be directed to a site on the reivews. If that tailgate were that weak, I would imagine that Toyota would have recalled it by now or somebody that hates Toyota, our loved critcis that only think that there is one vehicle, would have dogged it by now. I dont know, bro. and the only thing about the titan is I know several people that own them. great trucks, but they say they have a lot of rear end trouble.
The more I view this video, I don't think there is wheel hop or flexing at all. It looks more like the normal compression and decompression motions of the suspension. This is all petty. Anyway, I find it amusing that people are so passionate (and sometimes vulgar) about which brand they like when in fact all the trucks built today are fine vehicles. There really is no "true American" truck. Nearly all truck parts and assembly are either American, Canadian, or Mexican
TUNDRA is A american design. I dont think a single japanese or asian would design those things, they are huge. Only americans wants everything big. Thats why no Tundra and Sequoia in Asian markets.
@JAMESbG00D delicate dainty little shit is what you want on a pretty dash then you definitely want a Chevy. Toyota trucks were wiping their asses with american trucks back when they were a side market. they run forever...Dr. Deming tried to tell the american market but they were too full of shit thinking the party would never end. well it did end..in BANKRUPTCY court
There's no flexing! It's just a little wheel hop and nose dive as it's braking. The same as any vehicle, especially an unladen pickup. I've owned a Tundra CrewMax 5.7 for about 2 months now. I've got dual Flowmasters 40's. It sounds great and I've been blowing the doors off of Government Motors and Hemi's. As for "domestic". Look on the window stickers for foreign and domestic content of parts and place of assembly. The Tundra is more American than you think!
@jlsimmonsjr There was bed hop. Toyota is the only competitor running an open frame design, with the weakest bed reinforcements. Anyway Ford is more American than Toyota.
@jlsimmonsjr Why thou? they may have assembly plants here but where does the profit go to? and look up the strength tests the ford dodge and Chevy will all out preform the Toyota and Nissan why not buy American if you live there? instead of buying foreign and complaining about the economy...
@jlsimmonsjr Why thou? they may have assembly plants here but where does the profit go to? and look up the strength tests the ford dodge and Chevy will all out preform the Toyota and Nissan why not buy American if you live there? instead of buying foreign and complaining about the economy... also the toyota trucks get worse fuel economy the frame isnt as strong and has horibble flex..
i love how every one talks shit about toyota cause there jap. but there built in texas and that so called shitty bed can hold and tow more than any american truck plus the f 250 and f 350 use the same bed frame as the tundra . go and drive a tundra u will be in shock
Either the chevy or the nissan deserved to win. The toyota has a weak frame. In the 2011 Ford super duty durability test, the Tundra comes out at the bottom. The bed looks like it's going to fall off.
line it up hook it up!!!! i put my tundra threw 55k miles of hell so far and not had a single prob..yet. look at my log in name the fx4 was when i owned one but got tired of fixing the pos.. had a 2002 fx4 put 4 trans. it that one got rid of it bought a 2005 ford 4x4 put a trans.. in that one at 45k miles....if i put my fords threw what i put my 08 tundra threw it would have spent more time in the shop than on the road..Tundra!!!dont b made cause you get smoked by a jap truck in your obama cars!
FAIL wat a hunk of shit you let a frame bending peice of shit take the win listen im not a chevy guy or nissan for that matter but my god i would of given that to the chevy fuck that stupid toyota
@lespaul12001 why would I buy something that dont impress me and I cant belive that people like you think just because of your opinion will make me buy Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. Last time i heard Imports are on top of the best list...
Last time I heard your gas pedal will stick and send you out of control, your frame will rust, and your bed flex's because the truck has no balls whatso ever.
@lespaul12001 Last time I heard you dont own shit, and have no money to pay for shit. Another kid talking on YouTube about something that wishes to own but cant because of not being old enough to drive. Sad! Once again Tundra owns all other trucks!
Actually, I own a 1997 Silverado. Z71, 350 vortec, 4x4. People that drive toyota's get laughed at, ask anyone. Look at the fucking frame bending on that fucker!! Its built like shit!
@lespaul12001 No one laughed at me and all i get is compliments from everyone. I am guessing you know nothing about Toyotas frame flex. Look up the purpose of the frame flex and what it is designed to do. Just like the reason why the heavy duty trucks use flex frames for heavy loads, that way the frame and the shocks is not under pressure. Example a fishing poll or a regular tree stick. Think about it.
lets see silverado lost because it isnt a race truck.. and doesnt jump hills...........chevy has better towing...AND for 2008 6 speed..............still agian no trailers...no slick boat ramps...no payloads....
lets see silverado lost because it isnt a race truck.. and doesnt jump hills...........chevy has better towing...AND for 2008 6 speed..............still agian no trailers...no slick boat ramps...no payloads....
wow you big three fan boys sure dont like the truth very much. um and just a foot note all of the toyotas effected by the recall were made i america the ones made in japan and some made in kentucky are infact not effected by the recall. and the throtle sticking is very rare.
Defeat??? What are you talking about? Toyota with its weak frames thin cheap tailgates, bed bounce, weak transmisions, tick on initial start up. Need I go on cause I can! Dont be bias, do some research!! My mom owns an '07 5.7 Tundra, the first year they owned it they had to have the trans rebuilt, and the bed bounce is unbelievable even with new balanced tires!! I have owned both a new F-150, and an '08 Ram, not as much power granted, but fully boxed frames, far better work horses! Toy Hipe!!
@toreyw100 There's a big difference between "frame strength" and "frame rigidity" some are designed to bend & not break. Fully boxed frames are all hipe. Tundra, the full line of Super Duty Fords, and Peterbilts all use C channels.
well i love my ford ranger just got it yesterday and got like a foot of snow the night after. and we had no snow all winter untill i got my truck so it was perfect
@cnnroker thats true. my brother has a reg cab tundra and the truck is a lot stouter than people give it credit for. if it is a TRD then yeah it will bounce all over the place. toyota was smart in making the c frame. it keeps people from hauling more than any of these trucks should be hauling in the bed since they are half-ton trucks. and if the payload is too heavy, it gives less control of front end making it lighter and less stable. meaning wet roads are a disaster waiting to happen. Peace.
theres too many flaws with this video. all i have the say is vortec max will shit all over the tundra. fuck interior, fuck exterior, and fuck 0-60 times. hook up the tundra to a 10,500lb trailor and lets see if it can pull the 10,500lb trailor better than the vmax.
Who the hell cares about 0-60 in a truck? Unless you're buying a Lightning or SRT10....all great engines, but I'd feel just a bit guilty for driving a gas hog like this that fast. Besides I know firsthand how much power a new F150 has, that's plenty if I ever needed a big truck.
wow, im shocked, people are complaining here about trucks that have a 360 hp v8 as being slow or junk. i drive on a daily basis a 34000 lb freightliner fl70 that has a 190 hp 5.9 cummins. yes its slow as hell but it does the job. personally my '99 5.7 vortec chevy truck has plenty of power for me, i dont see how anyone can be dissatisfied with 360 or so hp. (and no im not a cummins guy, its just a company truck i drive at work)
the last two rentals i drove were gm, both were crap. i figure i already give gm enough of my tax money so why would i spend any more of my on a company that can't support itself
For example: Toyota took $6 bill from japan government, Chyseler $8 bill, GM $23bill from us, Ford $ 23 bill from banks, etc. All teh companies took money from governements. Also most rentals are crap no matter what. and what type of car do you drive?
No, not all rentals are crap, I drive a Toyota, and like I said, gm already has enough of my money without my permission, they're not getting anymore. Apparently you dont need to make a good product to survive anymore; you just have to make sure your failure brings enough people down with you.
yah the ones you pay like $300 a day for aren't. GM has plenty of nice new cars coming out that i bet you haven't tried. For example: The new chevy eqiunox, buick lacroos 2010, chevy camaro, malibu, chevy volt, and etc. Also how much do you think they really took from you extra in taxes? The government just prints new money to LOAN to GM, GM will pay back all they got. F.Y.I
i did rent a malibu.... not so much. don't get me wrong, i don't hate american cars just to hate them. it's more of a, "i'm not mad, i'm just dissapointed." plus, GM hasn't had a profit in awhile now, you don't really expect them to pay it back do you.
Was it a new Malibu or an old one? Cause the new one is much improved, trust me. I have been in more cars in my 16 years of life than most people do at age 80. Pretty much all have been GM and i can't think of one car that we ever had a problem with. (My dad gets a new car every two months). Right now we have a 2010 Equinox and it is awsome, but i have been in a new malibu, traverse, G6, Lacrosse, and so on. They are all very nice and i would say equal to the quality of foreign cars i've been in
any car is nice when its new...if you ride in the same cars 5 years later and ride in a foreign rival car of the same year then its obvious where they are/were excelling...
very true, any car is perfect new, however I've seen my share of cars from both domestic AND import makes that were 5-10 years old and falling apart. I don't buy the import>domestic crap magazines feed ignorant buyers.
well yea there are exceptions to almost everything, but im saying ... go drive a 1990 honda..then go drive a 1990 tempo or a 1990 cavalier, i dont wanna bash cavalier cause i had a 90 model, fantastic running car car but the interior looked like it belonged in 1980 instead of 90.
Hay man Im not bashing hear but when was the last time you saw a 90 honda of any kind that was not beat to shit with lots of body rot?.
The reason why the cavalier had old looking interior's was because they made that model from 84 to I think 94 lol but they did upgrade the interior a little in the late 90's.
I wish i could find my old comment that youre responding to lol.... I think i remember it tho, but hey that cavalier i had looked like shit but ran fantastic, i drove it from South Carolina to Juarez mexico three times cruising at 95 to 100 the entire time, and this was after it had 175,000 miles on it! one of the most dependable engines ever made IMO, also after a tree fell on the car it still drove fine even with the roof touching the seats! I tried to kill it by jumping RR tracks but failed.
lol. thats so funny you said that about the RR tracks. I had a 92 lumina coupe that I bought for 500 as a temporary car and I used to jump Rail Road tracks all the time it was a fun car to beat the shit out of and then I sold it for 1,500 LOL but the car still looked new and it drove great.
And right now he is working on the volt and it should be a very nice car. I would expect GM to start making a profit in the next year and pay back the money to the goverment. Just like chysler did in the 80's.
16.... so you don't understand the concept of YOUR tax dollars yet. it was a new malibu, and judging by gm's -51 billion dollar proffit in the three years leading up to 2008, i doubt they'll be paying the govt back. the big three are basically on the same level as the airlines at this point.. too big to let go.
GM's financial problems are more related to union issues and financial obligations to retirees that haven't worked there for many years than a lack of quality in modern cars. You obviously haven't been in or driven new GM cars besides base-model rental units, I have and know for a fact the quality is far improved. The Japanese companies were bailed-out as well so GM wasn't the only one
Thank you! So far you're the only person on youtube that knows your stuff about the GM bailout. Just a heads up, Toyota is going to see a decline in quality for the Corolla/Matrix, and Tacoma. I hate Toyota with a passion for ruining my life as well as 4,999 others. Toyota is all about money and does'nt give a shit about their workers who put them on the map for North America.
even tho im 14 i still am going to Buy american even tho im not admiring ford dont et me wrong guys Ford is great so is Chevy but im gunna stay with my 97 silverado for ever until my child drives it. i dont think that those Jap trucks could last 30 years ha my dads 1979 Sub was being raced by sum dood in a Tacoma and my dads Sub whooped his butt thanks to the 7.4L 454 V8 :) more than 650 horses at your disposal
It's funny reading the comments from angry hillbillys's saying American trucks are better. They are clearly not. Japan has the technology, power and reliability advantage by a huge margin. It's just Americans think that because it's from another country it's crap. Take the badges off both trucks and i bet you'd all change your minds!
I'm sorry, but the day Toyota can make a truck that will haul 5+ ton farm equipment is the day I'll finally consider buying one.
Til then, an F-450 will do me wonders.
And I'm sorry, but talking reliability I have to take into account the '92 Ford I saw towing a 3-car trailer on the interstate the other day. Still works, doesn't it?
@toyota4life94 wait did you say the tundra it the most american truck?!?!? wtf is wrong with you!!

yeah but its not the bed bouncing its just the truck looking for grip dumshits and i prefer toyota instead of american vehicles
dammyousuck 1 year ago

Thanks
hmfmi 1 year ago
@hmfmi I don't but if you google the actual question, I will almost guarantee that you will be directed to a site on the reivews. If that tailgate were that weak, I would imagine that Toyota would have recalled it by now or somebody that hates Toyota, our loved critcis that only think that there is one vehicle, would have dogged it by now. I dont know, bro. and the only thing about the titan is I know several people that own them. great trucks, but they say they have a lot of rear end trouble.
135yota 1 year ago
The more I view this video, I don't think there is wheel hop or flexing at all. It looks more like the normal compression and decompression motions of the suspension. This is all petty. Anyway, I find it amusing that people are so passionate (and sometimes vulgar) about which brand they like when in fact all the trucks built today are fine vehicles. There really is no "true American" truck. Nearly all truck parts and assembly are either American, Canadian, or Mexican

@JAMESbG00D delicate dainty little shit is what you want on a pretty dash then you definitely want a Chevy. ronfish1965 1 year ago
The Tundra is more American than you think!
jlsimmonsjr 1 year ago 14
@jlsimmonsjr There was bed hop. Toyota is the only competitor running an open frame design, with the weakest bed reinforcements. Anyway Ford is more American than Toyota.

lespaul12001 1 year ago
@lespaul12001 No one laughed at me and all i get is compliments from everyone. I am guessing you know nothing about Toyotas frame flex. Look up the purpose of the frame flex and what it is designed to do. Just like the reason why the heavy duty trucks use flex frames for heavy loads, that way the frame and the shocks is not under pressure. Example a fishing poll or a regular tree stick. Think about it.

Toy Hipe!!

If you look at 1:48 you can see the bed bounce when he floors it.
1988Ranger4X4 1 year ago
@toreyw100 There's a big difference between "frame strength" and "frame rigidity" some are designed to bend & not break. Fully boxed frames are all hipe. Tundra, the full line of Super Duty Fords, and Peterbilts all use C channels.

cnnroker 1 year ago 10
@cnnroker thats true. my brother has a reg cab tundra and the truck is a lot stouter than people give it credit for. if it is a TRD then yeah it will bounce all over the place. toyota was smart in making the c frame. it keeps people from hauling more than any of these trucks should be hauling in the bed since they are half-ton trucks. and if the payload is too heavy, it gives less control of front end making it lighter and less stable. meaning wet roads are a disaster waiting to happen. Peace.

ProfessorGrundledore 2 years ago
what do you drive? And Chevy will be around long after your long gone. I doubt you have even driven a GM car in 15 years...
mooserman911 2 years ago 2
the last two rentals i drove were gm, both were crap. i figure i already give gm enough of my tax money so why would i spend any more of my on a company that can't support itself
ProfessorGrundledore 2 years ago
For example: Toyota took $6 bill from japan government, Chyseler $8 bill, GM $23bill from us, Ford $ 23 bill from banks, etc. All teh companies took money from governements. Also most rentals are crap no matter what. and what type of car do you drive?
mooserman911 2 years ago
No, not all rentals are crap, I drive a Toyota, and like I said, gm already has enough of my money without my permission, they're not getting anymore. Apparently you dont need to make a good product to survive anymore; you just have to make sure your failure brings enough people down with you.
ProfessorGrundledore 2 years ago
yah the ones you pay like $300 a day for aren't. F.Y.I
mooserman911 2 years ago
i did rent a malibu.... not so much. don't get me wrong, i don't hate american cars just to hate them. it's more of a, "i'm not mad, i'm just dissapointed." plus, GM hasn't had a profit in awhile now, you don't really expect them to pay it back do you.
ProfessorGrundledore 2 years ago
Was it a new Malibu or an old one? Cause the new one is much improved, trust me. I have been in more cars in my 16 years of life than most people do at age 80. Pretty much all have been GM and i can't think of one car that we ever had a problem with. (My dad gets a new car every two months). Right now we have a 2010 Equinox and it is awsome, but i have been in a new malibu, traverse, G6, Lacrosse, and so on. They are all very nice and i would say equal to the quality of foreign cars i've been in
mooserman911 2 years ago
any car is nice when its new...if you ride in the same cars 5 years later and ride in a foreign rival car of the same year then its obvious where they are/were excelling...

mooserman911 2 years ago
very true, any car is perfect new, however I've seen my share of cars from both domestic AND import makes that were 5-10 years old and falling apart. I don't buy the import>domestic crap magazines feed ignorant buyers.
yellowmusicfreak 2 years ago
well yea there are exceptions to almost everything, but im saying ... go drive a 1990 honda..then go drive a 1990 tempo or a 1990 cavalier, i dont wanna bash cavalier cause i had a 90 model, fantastic running car car but the interior looked like it belonged in 1980 instead of 90.
ninjafatballz 2 years ago
Hay man Im not bashing hear but when was the last time you saw a 90 honda of any kind that was not beat to shit with lots of body rot?.
The reason why the cavalier had old looking interior's was because they made that model from 84 to I think 94 lol but they did upgrade the interior a little in the late 90's.
workensmart 2 years ago
I wish i could find my old comment that youre responding to lol.... I think i remember it tho, but hey that cavalier i had looked like shit but ran fantastic, i drove it from South Carolina to Juarez mexico three times cruising at 95 to 100 the entire time, and this was after it had 175,000 miles on it! one of the most dependable engines ever made IMO, also after a tree fell on the car it still drove fine even with the roof touching the seats! I tried to kill it by jumping RR tracks but failed.
ninjafatballz 2 years ago
lol. thats so funny you said that about the RR tracks. I had a 92 lumina coupe that I bought for 500 as a temporary car and I used to jump Rail Road tracks all the time it was a fun car to beat the shit out of and then I sold it for 1,500 LOL but the car still looked new and it drove great.
workensmart 2 years ago
I am in love with your ignorance
gmchevroletruck 2 years ago
ignorance with what?
mooserman911 2 years ago
And right now he is working on the volt and it should be a very nice car. I would expect GM to start making a profit in the next year and pay back the money to the goverment. Just like chysler did in the 80's.
mooserman911 2 years ago
16.... so you don't understand the concept of YOUR tax dollars yet. it was a new malibu, and judging by gm's -51 billion dollar proffit in the three years leading up to 2008, i doubt they'll be paying the govt back. the big three are basically on the same level as the airlines at this point.. too big to let go.
ProfessorGrundledore 2 years ago
GM's financial problems are more related to union issues and financial obligations to retirees that haven't worked there for many years than a lack of quality in modern cars. You obviously haven't been in or driven new GM cars besides base-model rental units, I have and know for a fact the quality is far improved. The Japanese companies were bailed-out as well so GM wasn't the only one
stanbernadino 2 years ago

It's funny reading the comments from angry hillbillys's saying American trucks are better. They are clearly not. Japan has the technology, power and reliability advantage by a huge margin. It's just Americans think that because it's from another country it's crap. Take the badges off both trucks and i bet you'd all change your minds!
chrisstephens101 2 years ago
I'm sorry, but the day Toyota can make a truck that will haul 5+ ton farm equipment is the day I'll finally consider buying one.
Til then, an F-450 will do me wonders.
And I'm sorry, but talking reliability I have to take into account the '92 Ford I saw towing a 3-car trailer on the interstate the other day. Still works, doesn't it?
And improper maintenance =/= lack of reliability.
