This is how I play a G chord, dude. There is no PERFECT way to play it. You're apparently a newbie at guitar- or a wanna-be. If you weren't watching you'd never know the difference in hearing it. I used to have tabs, but lost them all in an apartment fire. All of the songs I play are learned by ear until I need the tabs- mostly for solos and such. I just haven't had them in years. Final clarification on the Randy Les Paul issue:

Randy played what is widely accepted as a 1974 GIBSON Les Paul Custom. Two years after his death (1984) BURNY released an Exact Replica of his guitar, right down to the engraved pickguard. Randy never played a Burny.
