I grew up quite close to Quebec, in fact we were required to take French language lessons in grades 4-6. My family often camped and spent vacations in Quebec. I remember the beautiful country but luckily, no fires when we went.
Aren't you glad you aren't out in CA? The smoke must be tremendous there. And I feel so bad, thinking about how many people are losing their homes, and how many animals/birds/etc. have perished. Thanks for sharing this!
yes I am glad not to be in California. We were in Santa Barbara last summer and the smoke for the yaka fire sometimes covered the region. At least in Carolina there are not many homes in danger. All we can do is hope for a big rainstorm and an onshore breeze. I know people say global warming is a myth but I wish the myth would ease up a little. Thanks for the comment.
That is the currituck mainland. I have been there before.

I worked in a small village in northern Quebec a long time ago.
The whole village had to be evacuated because of a forest fire a few miles out.
I can still remember what it smelled like.
