M2 Emulator 0.9 beta Daytona USA Advanced Practice

My Times are pretty much the same. I get a 42:23 on Advanced Track. But if you watch Team Demolition Videos, then you will see that 41:75 ist possible. Even a first Round with 47:xx incase of 48:xx... I think with the Emulator V.1.0 no Time like the Team Demolition Time is possible...I drive on the Limit but my times cannot nearly reach that record.

@TheMegaWalrus This was a bug in a very early version of the emulator but was fixed a long time ago. My times are genuine.

i did 41.37 arcade u need to drift near the far edge and steady at the near corner, i did that

is 4-3-2-3-4 the ideal method for drifting in this game?

@johnnie9011 not always, for some turns you can use 4-1-4, 4-1-3-4, 4-2-4, and much more...

btw, i would love if someone teach me this technique, i just can only drift for max 295kmh in the last turn using your technique, and the chicane before second extension i could only go for 315kmh, although i'll try to use 4-2-4...

btw 41.37? timelap or race mode? in timelap my best is 42.58, if race mode i ever goes to 38.67... its much easier to get good times in race mode+you fallen behind... XD

Hi I was wondering how you get it to work... I downloaded the m2 Emulator 0.9 but when I click on every game it keeps having these things in command prompt that says missing files.... Then I click the "x" then the emulator also gets exited.

You need the rom image, although it is illegal unless you own a real daytona board, you can get them off many pirate rom sites.

1st corner abt 325/324km/h

2nd corner is 308/309km/h

3rd corner is 300km/h(gear 1-4 de)

last corner is 311/313km/h(feint steering with n2-4 gear)

You need to get the right rom set for this game, the MAME rom set has 3 files missing.

judging by the other movies of daytona usa, to get a good time do the following:

1. rev between 6500-7000rpm whilst holding the brake and once the light is green release brake and floor accelerator at the same time for a boost start

2. use manual transmission and for each corner change gears in the following order =

2-4, 2--4-3-4, 1-4, 2-4

3. don't take it too seriously it is just a game so have fun!

Is this the PC version? It's hard to get a good timing like as in the arcade machine but my fastest so far for this version using a keyboard was 0'41"85 lap.

On older versions of the emulator it was easy to get very fast lap times due to a bug which would make your car think it was drafting another player. I got 00'41"76 on that version. If you try the newer one, 0.8a (the one pictured is 0.9 which is not out yet), that bug is no longer present. But if you got your time on the current version then well done, that's very impressive!

I don't think mine is the same version as yours. Mine is more similar to the Sega Saturn version. The one I play on I could get 12"4x for 1st cp and 11"0x~11"1x for 2nd cp. However, I got a very slow 18"2x (max) for the last cp. That's the fastest I could only get despite everything perfectly done. The timings in the version I have seems kinda way off compared to the Daytona machines we have in the arcades, but your cp times are very close to that one though.

You're probably playing Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition. It was released on the PC as Daytona USA Deluxe. It's a hack of the Sega Rally engine to play Daytona, AM2's response to people bashing the original Saturn/PC versions of Daytona for terrible graphics, but screwing with the physics system at the same time, making it play weird.

Can't be any PC port of the game then! There is only the original & deluxe. Both had pretty bad graphics.

Your corners aren't fast enough also too much gaps and going wide. Going wide = wasting time.

CP times should be - 1st = 12.59-12.54, 2nd - 11.21-11.17, 3rd - 18.12-17.90. Corners 1st 2-4 = 324-326km/h, 2-4-3-4 = 305-309km/h, 1-4 = 281-289km/h, 2-4 = 308-313km/h.

Thanks! Yes I think I am going too wide. I find it difficult to tighten up the corners consistently. I am doing the techniques you stated but obviously not quite proficiently enough yet.
