How to unlock and jailbrake iphone 3g and 3gs on firmware 3.1.2.

ok i got my iphone unlocked last week and i was told if i ever turn it off it will be locked again or it will tell me to plug it into itunes. i tried installing a them and it rebooted and now my phone locked again or is telling me to plug it into itunes, how do you fix this?

hey whats up man i have question i bought the iphone 3g and it was already unlocked and jailbroken but i accidentally hooked it up to itunes and wanted to update the latest stuff and when i was done it said it didn't recognize my sim card and will only let me do emergency calls so i was wondering if when i do unlock and jail break will i have all my apps and settings that it had before i screwed up?? please and thank u!!

i tried it on ma new 3gs,it worked well but when i turn off my phone,then it again shows that "connect to itunes" msg.Whats this??IS there is any fix??

restore in itunes and start over

does it only work on iphone not ipod touch

it will work on all ipod touches but the newest one is a teathered jailbrake
