He is Mr.Consistency Hitmaker and has cut a bucket full of great material staying tue and faithful to traditional Country Music - his induction to the HoF is totally deserved and long overdue. MAC (Scotland)
I have nothing against King George, but he is up there with Garth Brooks as the most overrated man in country music. As a singer he is merely average. Ronnie Milsap and Larry Gatlin were on the charts ten years before George and can sing circles around him any day of the week, and they are still waiting for their hall of fame inductions. The real legend standing on that stage is Kris Kristofferson, but today's country fans are too damn young to know anybody before 1995!

Kris is an iconic songwriter in country music and abroad,but wouldn't either Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson have been a better choice to introduce him,since he influenced both of them directly?Heck,they were both kids when Kris and Janis Joplin were injecting themselves with heroin!

That's the truth! I've been talking to folks and I hear it over and over, that they want country to sound the way it used to sound, like Patsy Cline's voice and the way Emmylou sings and George Jones and of course George Strait. Those other country singer wannabes are just flashy entertainers and are going to fade away and be replaced by the real deal. Country is coming back, wait and see :)

Does anybody do a better job than George Strait of sounding just like he does on his albums? To me, that's true talent. Nothing worse than hearing someone butcher their own songs live just because they don't have electronic help from the studio. Never have to worry about that with George.

Honestly at the time I thought he was royally snubbed...the intro by kris K (though I love him) was awful...he hardly he George any justice! Honestly I think we will never be lucky enough to have another country singer that is george caliber and they totally sold him down shit creek. Usually they show tons of pictures and go depper into the artist acolades (what about pure country...they don't even mention it)...but I guess CMA didn't feel George deserved that!

My man!!!! I started listening to him when I was stationed in Hawaii back in the early '90s. Come to find out, he was also stationed there. Saw "Pure Country" on the plane coming back from Korea. Fell so in love!!! No one is more deserving. Anyone who can stay married to his wife for 35 years and raise and fantastatic son like George "Bubba" Jr. deserves all he gets. And no, they're not over Jenifer's death. He really hasn't spoken about it since she died over 20 years ago.
