Actually, Paul's voice has held up pretty well over the years. But it was their unique harmony that made them hit that sweet spot so often. If you take anyone of those voices out of the mix it begins to sound so....mortal.
@JCitr7 i agree his voice is still great, but i meant, on this particular song, he was the only one singing it on the original track as well. recording in the studio always sounds better too. but yes they all harmonized amazing together, and i know what you mean about the sound, but i thought they all sounded great alone too
Listening to one Beatle sing a Beatle song is like eating a hamburger that only has the bun and nothing else. A stale bun besides. But I guess if you're starving for good music it's still going to taste good.
@JCitr7 he was the only one who sang on the original one too, but i guess the biggest difference is age and effects in the recording studio and all that
@RockTheStageNYC I understand your point, but it's nice to see the crowd being touched by the music. Its a wonderful feeling to know this beautiful stuff is still being cherished, and to see it.
Paul McCartney stood up for the truth, and we must do the same. Without the truth, there can be no real morality, justice, equality, success, freedom, love, security, peace, spirituality or even survival. Go to TRUTHCONTEST(dot)com, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.
I kinda enjoyed the behind-the-scenes shots. I didn't realize how many people were employed to do so many various things. Most concerts I've been to don't seem to have THAT many. I noticed so many details. It was a cool insight to a grand performer I've watched even when I was little and saw his motorcade pass me by when he was a Beatle.
I've tried to do justice to another classic, GET BACK, with the posted music video, "40 years in 3 minutes" which condenses historical events and personal 8mm along with the Beatles' rooftop performance in a fast-moving montage. Enjoy.
There's always one beef I have with Paul's DVD concert releases. They are obviously edited by people who enjoys pissing off the fans who watch them. Otherwise why would you do so many cut-aways to senseless things like the lighting crew moving trusses and so many crowd shots? Stay on the damn performance!
Every single DVD of his is like this. Just the concert please with nice sweeping shots and close-ups. Save the crowd shots for in between songs.
These videos are all rather strange if you pretend you don't know any of these songs or who Paul McCartney is. Why is everyone so delightfully cheering for a song about fixing a hole?
PAUL MCCARTNEY HAD BIRTHDAY:))) PAUL MCCARTNEY I WISH YOU LOT MANY HEALTH AND A LAAAAANGESLEBEN WE ARE YOU NEVER FORGET NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU WILL:)))
@justanotherfrog - yeah, I agree - I mean they introduced so much intelligence, deliberation, experimentation, and orchestration in their music, that it ceased to be rock 'n' roll anymore and truly became ROCK. They acted as a complete change of pace and self-recognition of post WW2 Britain - as a consolidating factor between the US and UK, etc. They also brought in so many diverse musical ideas like Indian instruments, elaborate orchestration, avante garde - you name it, they did it. Super!
@pistachioguy yes, very true! It amazes me, not only how much they changed the industry, but how long they were able to stay popular for! They were really an amazing band in so many aspects, I don't think we'll ever see anything like it again!
Honestly I love this man but the whole Crowd & even the band completely Americanise the entire show & make it so cheesy. It would be nice to see the actual fucking Beatle play his 60 year plus arse off instead of shots of the crowd.
What were the odds that four great talents like Paul, John, George and Ringo all happened to appear in roughly the same place at the same time. Chance? I don't think so; so what was it? Lightning in a bottle?
He fucks this right up the prick. The Beatles are by far the greatest band in existence, the next best are in the distance. Paul is a legend, destined for eternal greatness. But he kills this tune.
Wow Paul makes me wonder. I understand, that if you sing cool being young and full of energy is OK, but being near 68, smoking all your live and still feeling the melody, singing, playing instruments, performing all those concerts...He's incredible
HE IS A GENIOUS !!! I wonder how he can remember the lyrics and chords of so many songs... Maybe the name of his last album , "Memory almost full", has something to do about this fact...
Thanks Paul. This is so nice. Paul is the best, the cutest (in this age!) and The Beatle i think. He brings us year after year so much joy. And so many hofners bagstage, wow.
I'm a long time Paul fan. I have to say, his piano is pretty uninspiring here. The video seems to be about how big a show he makes, rather than anything about the music. I guess this will result in a lot of negative responses. Sorry, not to make his legions of fans unhappy. But even the greatest have days that aren't so terrific. Best to you all.
@rwkennedy i think you're complaining more on the director than paul. This is the start of an encore I think, so the director of the dvd chose to shoot it like this. the rest of the show is about the music
I love the remarks here I am a loving what Paul is doing as a solo artist , he is a star nobody can deny and I hope he carries on for ever. He has the problem of being an ex Beatle and being a solo artist but it always works out brilliant.
The man is a genius. It's mind boggling how many great, amazing melodies he has written; one as distinct and varied as the next. I was lucky to see him in In Kansas City last weekend and we were treated to rarities such as " Obladi Oblada, I've Just Seen A Face, etc. His voice was fantastic, better, I think than what's here from the Paris show. He played rhythm, lead, bass guitar, mandolin, ukelele, and piano of course at the concert. Don't miss his current tour if you have the chance.

Shut the hell up! If you're trying to be funny or something just stop. Paul McCartney is the best musician alive and his music is amazing. The same goes for The Beatles. Without them we wouldn't have a lot of the rock we have today or metal or even rap. They influenced a lot of music.

Shut the hell up! If you're trying to be funny or something just stop. Paul McCartney is the best musician alive and his music is amazing. The same goes for The Beatles. Without them we wouldn't have a lot of the rock we have today or metal or even rap. They influenced a lot of music.

This is the reason we need incarsaration facilities.......
