  • DRED HAS A TRUE SCHOOL BACK IN THE DAY SPIRIT , CHECK THE MADDIX/IT TAKES A THEIF LAY OUT OF THIS VIDEO TIGHT PRODUCTION, GIVE THIS CAT HIS PROPS.

  • i stay back in the days!!!!

  • I found this looking up the historical figure Dred Scott

  • Back in the day......when Hip Hop was all about lyrics, talent and skill and not money, hoes, and cars

  • i need the instrumental to this??? is there a instrumental on youtube??

  • @kingjamespolo93 There's an instrumental on the vinyl.

  • Good!

  • man i want to go back in the days too, where hip hop was good...

  • Why is hiphop in the 90s so much better, sad how crappy it is today.

  • this aint the homeless singer. both are very good artists. but different people. the original Dred Scott was actually a guy from the 1800's, search court cases, they both borrowed his name. google for the win.

  • crazy that this dude is homeless

  • @IamXrayy is this really the same guy?

  • Comment removed

  • @B1aKWoLf This Dred Scott is not homeless.

He's married to R&B singer Adriana Evans.

Google her. He's produced everything she has

    ever released.

  • why did i discover this only today??????? :( but im happy now :D

  • 2 gay-lords dislike this, stupid ignorant motherfuckers

  • Who's song was out first, dred scott or ahmad???

  • back in the dayz hip hop did not suck

  • @LilRedRasta todays shit is all about the charts

  • Preferred this version to Ahmed's version by far.

  • Two thumbs up for the real hip hop!

  • _______BEST ALBUM_______

  • EVEN THOUGH I WAS 5 WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT I WISH RAP/ HIP HOP STILL SOUNDED LYK THIS FROM THE LYRICSIM 2 THE BEATS

  • 3 bitches don't wanna go back in the days

  • He called his-self Dred Scott and didnt have a clue he was Sovereign

  • nice joint

  • God this instrumental is so CLASSIC!!!!!

  • majmuni

  • FYI: "Back in the Day" by Dred Scott...and classic hit by @ahmadWECLAP with same title was not by the @thepharcyde242. I always crack up at shows when ppl believe this. But all love... the Golden Era of Hip Hop produced the best hip hop music ever!

  • I love how Dred is reminiscing about back in the day, in '83 when he used to bboy, etc... Now we're reminiscing about the days when Dred was reminiscing about back in the days! BLAM!

  • thats real hip hop. This music is now dead in my opinion. I wanna go back too

  • YESSIR! Hadn't heard this song in forever! I always thought it was a remix by Ahmad, but they're two different people!

  • This album went under the radar but it was VERY GOOD , Plus he had to contend with Ahmad's version of "Back In The Day" which was a massive hit back then

  • This album is mad rare and expensive. I just previewed it on Amazon and it sounds tight; I need this in my collection!

  • @dnjp4life Very good album. . .to bad somebody jacked mine.

  • i feel very lucky to have stumbled on this album back in the day. i played it constantly in '94-'95. i still drop it from time to time and young people ask me who it is.

its a shame how underrated this album was.

  • This song is a classic! i wanna go back in the days because i miss the 80's and 90's by the way what is the jazzy sample from (the one when the chorus starts) i know i've heard it before one of my friends made a song and used the same sample if anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated :)

  • this album is fuckin underrated!!

  • Comment removed

  • i wanna go back

  • When i hear this song i rember ridin in my whip with a hard philly lean

  • its crazy i feel like they were talking about back in the day now were talking about back in the day and its about them. Sucks how music is so bad now and so different from this!

  • Totally Dope! Thanks for posting.

& "El Camino" now available in the US on itunes!!!

  • man i used to bump this track all day long in my walkman!!!

  • @zislec Omg, my mom remembers walkmen! ....and cassettes!

  • @56iceiclez lool like dred says.....back in the day! i was like 14 when i bought this album. no mp3´s no inearphones, straight up plastic-earphones with cheap sound. but anyway this track was the shit.

  • Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • "backn then i still had more fun i even wrote a rhyme about a rookie named michael jordan" as a bulls fan that line sticks out.....dope track....a band-aid for nostalgia

  • This album is fucking brilliant. Dred should have been massive - his rapping was great, the production was brilliant. Really jazzy as well which is always a bonus.

And it's such a shame nowadays because apart from a few acts keeping it real, Hip-Hop's now a proper fucking embarrassment musically.

There are a lot of parallels with House Music. It was proper back in the day (Chicago, Detroit, New Jersey) then all the soul was taken out of it by big business.

So much shit music out now.

  • I agree with u there on both HipHop and House. even though there r alot of great tech/house productions out there nowadays...not mainstream though, lol.

  • @Jimbo8012 WORD!!!
