This was my favorite Eva C. recording for a year or two - the another Eva.C. song was my fav. , etc. I first heard Somewhere O.T.R. by Eva, in about 1998 or 99,I believe. I listened to everything of hers I could for about 10 years - perhaps thousands of times. I grew weary and stopped listening for 7 or 8 years. Now it's all come back. The tears are flowing, again. To me, this is the most beautiful music I ever heard.

The first time I heard Eva Cassidy was at the Borders in Bowie, MD-her home town and my neighboring town. I heard her cover of Songbird-one of my favorite songs-played over the in-store system. I sat wearing the headsets and listened to the entire album and literally cried at the sound of her voice. I have loved her since. I only wish I had known of her sooner and had an opportunity to see her live at Blues Alley. My loss; discovering her music is my gain.

@songpatch You said it!!! She wasn't trying to be anyone but herself. A lesson for all those American Idol--wanna be famous-"singers." Eva sang because it was in her soul and not be be a star. I believe that time is a healer simply because even those hard knocks finally are finally filed in the back of the mind. Of course old wounds can hurt but not like it did 20-30 years ago. Otherwise there would be no reason to live. Romantic love and all that goes with it makes life worth living. I cannot forget that first one but she is no longer a part of the present and neither is you're memory of her/him.
