This of course, is perfect.

As an 'Englander' that struggles with German, I would like to know when one would use the word 'Zueignung', and when one might use 'Widmung' , as to my crude perceptions, they both translate as dedication.

I am not a native speaker of German, though I speak it very well.

I know Widmung is the feeling of dedication, whereas I would guess Zueignung (which I think is an old-fashioned word by today's standards anyway) is a physical dedication, like the piece is dedicated to someone.

I 'felt' that perhaps 'WIDMUNG', might better be translated as EVOCATION (a speaking out), in the poetic sense of this lied .
