When I first heard this I remember thinking "man.... It's U2 meets Paul Simon"... Very interesting to see how they reused the drums and bass out and evolved the song into I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
it's an outtake; only released on the 2007 remastered version. (ie kept from the public for 20 years.) i posted it here within about 24 hours of the US public being able to buy it; Europeans and other parts of the world couldn't buy it until even a few weeks after that. in other words, you're not that far behind. ;-)
you're welcome! ;-) yeah, for a bit more insight & info into this track, read the quote from the Edge i pasted up there in the "about this video" section. btw i highly recommend people picking up the remastered joshua tree, especially the one with the dvd- includes a great concert from Paris and a good 40 min documentary from that era, but quite different from the rattle and hum movie- (ie: in color, less sombre, more light-hearted)
I would definintly recommend the bonus edition with the photos, book, dvd, joshua tree album and the second cd, its superb. I can't find my second cd so i have had to come to youtube to listen to this song!!! Thanks for posting- their new album being released at the end of this year should be class.
I love the drums to this.

JB: Thanks for sharing it so quickly after the availability. Reminds me of their stuff that inspired me so much in their early days, now I see why!

Awesome, sounds like an early demo jam session. Even so, amazing what comes through U2 is #1

I saw the U2 classic albums on VH1 classic, was this the song that the drums for With or Without you came from?
